To investigate the role of co-stimulatory and co-inhibitory molecules on immune tolerance in immune thrombocytopenia(ITP),this study mapped the immune cell heterogeneity in the bone marrow of ITP at the single-cell level using Cytometry by Time of Flight(CyTOF).Thirtysix patients with ITP and nine healthy volunteers were enrolled in the *** soluble immunomodulatory molecules,more sCD25 and sGalectin-9 were detected in ITP *** the cell surface,co-stimulatory molecules like ICOs and HVEM were observed to be upregulated in mainly central memory and effector T *** contrast,co-inhibitory molecules such as CTLA-4 were significantly reduced in Th1 and Th17 cell *** a platelet count of 30×10^(9)L^(−1)as the cutoff value,ITP patients with high and low platelet counts showed different T cell immune ***-presenting cells such as monocytes and B cells may regulate the activation of T cells through CTLA-4/CD86 and HVEM/BTLA interactions,respectively,and participate in the pathogenesis of *** conclusion,the proteomic and soluble molecular profiles brought insight into the interaction and modulation of immune cells in the bone marrow of *** may offer novel targets to develop personalized immunotherapies.

Brain mechanism of acupuncture for children with anisometropic amblyopia: a resting functional magnetic resonance imaging study based on voxel-mirrored homotopic connectivity

AIM:To explore the brain mechanism of acupuncture for children with anisometropic amblyopia using the voxelmirror homotopic connectivity(VMHC)analysis method of resting functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-fMRI)technology based on clinical ***:Eighty children with anisometropic monocular amblyopia were randomly divided into two groups:control(40 cases,1 case of shedding)and acupuncture(40 cases,1 case of shedding)*** control group was treated with glasses,red flash,grating,and visual stimulations,with each procedure conducted for 5min per *** on routine treatment,the acupuncture group underwent acupuncture of“regulating qi and unblocking meridians to bright eyes”,Jingming(BL1),Cuanzhu(BL2),Guangming(GB37),Fengchi(GB20)acupoints were taken on both sides,with the needle kept for 30min each *** groups were treated once every other day,three times per week,for a total of *** the treatment,the overall curative effect of the two groups and the latency and amplitude changes of P100 wave of pattern visual-evoked potential were *** the same time,nine children with left eye amblyopia were randomly selected from the two groups and were scanned with rsfMRI before and after *** differences in the brain regions between the two groups were compared and analyzed with ***:Chi-square test showed a notable difference in the total efficiency rate between the acupuncture(94.87%)and control groups(79.49%).Regarding the P100 wave latency and amplitude,the acupuncture group had significantly shorter latency and higher amplitude of P100 wave than the control ***,the VMHC values of the bilateral temporal lobe,superior temporal gyrus,and middle temporal gyrus were notably increased in the acupuncture group after ***:Acupuncture combined with conventional treatment can significantly improve the corrected visual acuity and optic nerve conduction in children with anisometropic ***

Cu-optimized long-range interaction between Co nanoparticles and Co single atoms:Improved Fenton-like reaction activity

The interplay between multi-atom assembly configurations and single atoms(sAs)has been gaining attention in ***,the effect of long-term range interactions between sAs and multi-atom assemblies on the orbital filling characteristics has yet to be *** this context,we introduced copper(Cu)doping to strengthen the interaction between cobalt(Co)nanoparticles(NPs)and Co sAs by promoting the spontaneous formation of Co-Cu alloy NPs that tends toward aggregation owing to its negative cohesive energy(-0.06454),instead of forming Cu *** incorporation of Cu within the Co-Cu alloy NPs,compared to the pure Co NPs,significantly expedites the kinetics of peroxymonosulfate(PMs)oxidation processes on Co *** Co NPs,Co-Cu NPs facilitate electron rearrangement in the d orbitals(especially dz^(2)and dxz)near the Fermi level in Co sAs,thereby optimizing the dz^(2)-O(PMs)and dxz-O(sO_(5)^(-))orbital ***,the Co-Cu alloy NPs embedded in nitrogen-doped carbon(CC@CNC)catalysts rapidly eliminated 80.67% of 20 mg L^(-1)carbamazepine(CBZ)within 5 *** performance significantly surpasses that of catalysts consisting solely of Co NPs in a similar matrix(C@CNC),which achieved a 58.99% reduction in 5 *** quasi in situ characterization suggested that PMs acts as an electron donor and will transfer electrons to Co sAs,generating^(1)O_(2)for contaminant *** study offers valuable insights into the mechanisms by which composite active sites formed through multi-atom assembly interact at the atomic orbital level to achieve high-efficiency PMs-based advanced oxidation processes at the atomic orbital level.

Effects of extrusion parameters on physicochemical properties of flaxseed snack and process optimization

In order to optimize the extrusion process of flaxseeds snacks,the influence of different extrusion conditions on flaxseed production were studied by using the general four-factor quadratic designs of rotary combination and response surface methodology(RsM).Four extrusion conditions,the extrusion temperature(100-160°C),screw speed(60-180 r/min),feeding speed(18.35-54.95 kg/h)and moisture content(14%-30%w/w)were used as variables to detect the change of in vitro protein digestibility,expansion index,bulk density and texture(hardness and brittleness)of extruded *** superimposed RsM contour map,it was found that the optimum extrusion conditions could be obtained at feed composition with flaxseed content of 20%,moisture content of 17.37%-22.43%,extrusion temperature of 134.3-156.1°C,screw speed of 114-165.7 r/min and feeding speed of 34.38-45.95 kg/h,***,the composition and content of fatty acid in flaxseed-maize mixture changed rarely after extruded process,which indicated that extrusion had little impact on fatty *** the optimum extrusion conditions,the flaxseed-maize blends can be extruded into acceptable snack foods.

As a kind of significant functional food material,flaxseed can be processed into snacks by extrusion *** research mainly studied the effects of different extrusion conditions:temperature,screw speed,material moisture content and proportion of added flaxseed,***,the rheological properties of steady state were also *** showed that the steady state shear sweep tendency of extruded disperse system accorded to the power law model of non-Newtonian *** fitting extrusion parameters and the parameters of power law model with polynomial,the maximum of consistency index and minimum of liquidity index can be gained when extruding temperature was 120°C,screw speed was 100 r/min and the proportion of added flaxseed was 20%.Maillard reaction could occur in extruded melt when material moisture content was less than 18.2%,and then formed to be brown by-products;however,the Maillard reaction slowed down and color aberration decreased when the moisture content *** soluble index observably reduced after extrusion,which indicated that protein denaturation during extruding process and created hydrophobic *** study of scanning rheological and electron microscope explained the process of starch,protein and fat in mixture formed steady polymer during extruding process.

The rheological properties of flaxseed meal(FM)and soybean Protein Isolate(sPI)extruded by the two-screw extruder under different processing conditions were ***,temperature,screw speed and sPI concentration were the four major factors for the extrusion *** rheological properties of extruded products were calculated by steady state flow test,frequency sweep test and creep *** the samples showed shear-thinning effect that is to say their apparent viscosities decreased with the increases of shear *** data fitted well to Power Law *** was found that both the storage(G′)and loss modulus increased as the rise in the angular frequency(w),which also fitted well to Power Law *** creep-recovery behavior of the samples fitted well to Burger’s *** addition,the temperature had no significant effect on the creep recovery rate of the samples.

soybean protein-gluten blend was extruded using a co-rotating twin-screw *** of different extrusion conditions on the textural properties of extrudates were analyzed by central composite design through the evaluation of texturization index,water holding capacity,and hardness of extruded protein *** process variables including feed moisture content(40%-60%),screw speed(12-20 Hz),extrusion temperature(120℃-180℃),and gluten content(16%-32%)were studied by the nonlinear regression equations *** extrusion process was also optimized using response surface methodology(RsM).The influence of moisture content on the hardness of extrudate was the most *** optimized results,including feed moisture content,extrusion temperature,screw speed and gluten content were 49.18%-50.15%,155.24℃-159.86℃,16.41-16.73 Hz,20.00%-20.03%,*** microstructures of TIsP products were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(sEM)and the changes of protein molecules before and after extrusion were also analyzed by sDs-PAGE electrophoresis.

Toosendanin: upgrade of an old agent in cancer treatment

Toosendanin(TsN), a tetracyclic triterpenoid derived from Melia toosendan and M. azedarach, demonstrates broad application prospects in cancer treatment. Although previously employed as a pesticide, recent studies have revealed its potential therapeutic value in treating various types of cancer. TsN exerts an anticancer effect via mechanisms including proliferation inhibition, apoptosis induction, migration suppression, and angiogenesis inhibition. However, TsN's toxicity, particularly its hepatotoxicity, significantly limits its therapeutic application. This review explored the dual nature of TsN, evaluating both its anticancer potential and toxicological risks, emphasizing the importance of balancing these aspects in therapeutic applications. Furthermore, we investigated the incorporation of TsN into novel therapeutic strategies, such as Proteolysis-targeting chimeras(PROTAC) technology and nanotechnology-based drug delivery systems(DDs), which enhance treatment efficacy while mitigating toxicity in normal tissues.

Effects of salt ions on rheological properties of sPI-GG hybrid system

The rheological characteristic of soy protein isolate(sPI),is one of the most important properties in its application in food *** effects of different concentrations of guar gum(GG,polysaccharide)and sodium chloride(salt ion)on the rheological properties of sPI were studied in this ***-state shear,strain sweep and frequency sweep tests(static and dynamic rheological tests)were performed,and the following phenomenon and conclusions were drawn:(1)The viscosity of the hybrid system increases with the GG *** trend could also be seen with the appropriate adding of salt ion;(2)As the applied frequency increases,the storage modulus G′and the loss modulus G″of the hybrid system increase at a similar *** the frequency sweep parameters of the hybrid system rise significantly with the increase of both GG and ionic concentration;The frequency dependence of the system varies significantly with the addition of salt ion;(3)With the concentration of the salt ion increase,the storage module G′of the hybrid system decrease indicating that salt ion destroyed the network structure of hybrid dispersion to a certain extent.

Relationship between stand characteristics and soil properties of two typical forest plantations in the mountainous area of Western sichuan, china

There is uncertainty and limited knowledge regarding stand characteristics and soil properties of middle-aged pure forest plantations in the mountainous area of Western sichuan. Plantation forests are almost exclusively planted as monocultures in the Pengzhou forest farm in the western mountainous area of sichuan Province. This study aimed to assess the spatial and ecological characteristics of middle-aged Cunninghamia lanceolata(Lamb.) Hook. and Cryptomeria fortunei Hooibr. in the Pengzhou forest farm. The relationships and differences between stand growth characteristics and forest soil composition were assessed on the two forests planted simultaneously within the same area and exposed to the same environmental conditions. Cr. fortunei grew sparse, and slower than Cun. lanceolata. Principal component analysis indicated that the soil properties in the Cr. fortunei plantation were better than those in the Cun. lanceolata plantation. Redundancy analysis revealed that the differences in stand structure were affected significantly by the total nitrogen content and pH value. Thus, we propose that Cr. fortunei is planted for priority consideration in the subtropical high mountain area. Further, tending operations and application of fertilizers need to be conducted in Cun. lanceolata forests. Based on theoretical and experimental data, the present study explains why local farmers are more willing to plant Cr. fortunei, and thus provides a useful theoretical reference for the development of sustainable plantations in the future.
