Reusable Component Technology in the Development of Agile Supply Chain Management System

Agile Supply Chain Management (ASCM) is one of the ke y techniques, which support dynamic enterprise alliance and realize agile manufa cturing. But the optimal run of ASCS depends on a good-constructed Agile Supply Chain Management System (ASCMS), so that the materials flow, information flow a nd funding flow in the supply chain are used with high efficiency. The requireme nts of ASCMS are constantly changeable, which requires that ASCMS has dynamical reuse, integration and open interface. Reusable components theory is one of the most important directions of software engineering. It’s a feasible approach to solve software crisis and to increase software productivity and quality. ASCMS d eveloped with reusable components can easily be re-constructed, and has good op en interfaces. It will also sharply shorten the development life circle of syste m, and avoid unnecessary errors that result from the process of re-developing t hose components. In order to develop ASCMS based on reusable components quickly, the first thing we need to do is to construct the framework for ASCMS called system architecture . The framework referred in this context is not only a reference system of ASCMS , but also the operation system (including run-time library and communication p rotocols), which the ASCMS determined. So we can abstract logic units of the sys tem (they are the logic base of the ASCMS components), and the relationships amo ng them. And the operation system and communication protocols provide these comp onents with a running platform. Of course, the most important thing is to constr uct an abundant components depository. Components in the depository should h ave some properties such as: (1) Components should be built upon a specific oper ation system (e.g., windows) and standard communication protocols (e.g., IIOP in CORBA’s specification); (2)Self-containment, that shows it’s unnecessary to include other components when some component is reused since that component cont ains

The Planning and Scheduling of Business Process in Agile Supply Chain System

The rapidly developing global competition is leadin g to the worldwide enterprise alliance, with which the geographical dispersion of production, assembly and distribution operations comes into being. Supply chain system is such a kind of enterprise alliance, managing the material and informat ion flows both in and between enterprises, such as vendors, manufacturing and assembly plants and distribution centers. In the present research work, we can see that supply chain system can quickly respond to customer needs and adapt to the dynamic change of the market so as to improve the competence of enterprises in the chain. Thus, in supply chain system, it’s most important to enhance the speed with which the products are produced and distributed to the customers who order them and reduce the operating costs at the same time. However, because of the special characteristics, such as dynamic and distributed , etc., often in Agile Supply Chain System (ASCS), there are many dynamic tasks, and many urgent changes of the processes, which make the planning work and mana gement become very difficult and complex. Thus, in Agile Supply Chain System, we first need an efficient planning work, which can program the processes properly to get a primary scheme. And then the local scheduling work based on the primar y scheme will play a important role to deal with the dynamic and distributed pro blems in the business process in ASCS. So, this paper will be organized as below . At the first of this paper, we will discuss the situation in which Agile Suppl y Chain System is applied, and then we will elaborate the characteristics of Agi le Supply Chain System. With that, the shortcomings of the process managements t hat are, at present, used in Supply Chain Systems will be displayed clearly. Sec ond, we will introduce the planning methods in our research work. And then, the local scheduling will be discussed in detail, based on the primarily planned wor kflow. Flexible Workflow Management in Agile Supply Chain System

With the vehement development of global competition , Agile Supply Chain (ASC) becomes an effective approach that supports dynamic ent erprise alliance and realizes agile manufacturing, as for the enterprises to cap ture market opportunities rapidly and strengthen their anti-risk ability. As Ag ile Supply Chain System (ASCS) is dynamic and distributed, the realization of it ’s processes needs to be much flexible. Often in Agile Supply Chain System (ASCS ), there are many dynamic tasks, many changes of the processes, and cooperative workflows, which need the workflows able to be adjusted agilely and smoothly, no t much affecting others. This paper will propose a flexible workflow management for achieving the agility and compatibility. At the first of the paper, we will discuss the situation in which Agile Supply C hain System is applied, and then we will elaborate the characteristics of Agile Supply Chain System. So with that, the shortcomings of the process managements t hat are, at present, used in Supply Chain Systems will be displayed clearly. The n, the proposal will be given in the paper, to resolve the problems in the prese nt process management in ASCS. We will see supply chain systems implemented mult i-agent-based technology to adapt to the dynamic environment, however in many systems, coordination of the workflows is executed by the explicit messages comm unicated between the agents. This will lead to a tightly coupled system. To over come it, the paper suggests the workflow management in agent-based ASCS using t he Events-Triggering mechanism, instead of the explicit messages. We create Eve nts-Triggering contents and rules, having push-pull mechanism, event-state se t and triggering-conditions, and store them in the distributed database subject ed to the corresponding agents.
