Effect of cobalt content on electrochemical performance of La-Mg-Ni system (Ce_2Ni_7-type) electrode alloys

In order to improve the cyclic stability of La-Mg-Ni system （Ce2Ni7-type） alloy electrode, small amount of Co was added in La0.75Mg0.25Ni3.5 alloy. The effect of Co on electrochemical performance and microstructure of the alloys were investigated in detail. XRD results showed that the alloys had multiphase structure composed of （La, Mg）2Ni7, LaNi5 and small amount of LaNi2 phases. The discharge capacity of the alloys first increased and then decreased with increasing Co content. At a discharge current density of 900 mA/g, the HRD of the alloy electrodes increased from 81.3% （x=0） to 89.2 % （x=0.2）, and then reduced to 87.8 % （x=0.6）. After 60 charge/discharge cycles, the capacity retention rate of the alloys enhanced from 52.67% to 61.32%, and the capacity decay rate of the alloys decreased from 2.60 to 2.05 mAh/g per cycle with increasing Co content. The obtained results by XPS and XRD showed that the fundamental reasons for the capacity decay of the La-Mg-Ni system （Ce2Ni7-type） alloy electrodes were corrosion and oxidation as well as passivation of Mg and Lain alkaline solution.

Carbon nanotube nanofluids have wide application prospects due to their unique structure and excellent *** this study,the thermal conductivity properties of carbon nanotube nanofluids and SiO2/water nanofluids were compared and analyzed experimentally using different preparation *** physical properties of nanofluids were tested using a Malvern Zetasizer Nano Instrument and a Hot Disk Thermal Constant *** with field synergy theory analysis of the heat transfer performance of nanofluids,results show that the thermal conductivity of carbon nanotube nanofluids is higher than that of SiO2/water nanofluids,and the thermal conductivity of nanofluid rises with the increase of mass fraction and ***,the synergistic performance of carbon nanotube nanofluids is also superior to that of SiO2/water *** the mass fraction of the carbon nanotube nanofluids is 10%and the SiO2/water nanofluids is 8%,their field synergy numbers and heat transfer enhancement factors both reach *** the perspective of the preparation method,the thermal conductivity of nanofluids dispersed by high shear microfluidizer is higher than that by ultrasonic *** result provides some reference for the selection and use of working substance in a microchannel cooling concentrated photovoltaic and thermal(CPV/T)system.

By using the perturbation method, effective nonlinear direct current （DC） and alternating current （AC） responses of nonlinear composites with spherical coated inclusions randomly embedded in a host medium are studied under the action of an external electric field Ea = E0 ＋ E1 sinωt ＋ E3 sin 3ωt with different amplitudes and frequencies. The local potentials of composites at all harmonics are given in the inclusion particles and the host regions. All effective nonlinear responses to composites and the relationship between the effective nonlinear responses at all harmonics are also deduced for the spherical coated inclusions in a dilute limit.

We studied the kinetic characterizations of the Trifolium pratense seedlings copper-containing amine oxidase(TPAO) by using various amine-containing *** catalyzing rate for all of amine-containing substrates can be ordered as diamines > polyamines > aromatic monoamines,and it shows an apparent trend in each category of substrates such as the longer the carbon chain,the lower the V_(max) is,so does the V_(max)/K_m values but is opposite for the K_m value of *** distinct differences between the kinetic parameters for different amine-containing substrates indicated that the rate-determining step of the catalytic reaction strongly depends on the substrate's chemical *** is concluded that both pH and ionic strength can affect the catalytic activity of TPAO via influencing the coulomb interaction-mediated enzyme-substrate docking processes,which can be attributed to the potential of charged groups from both substrates and the activity sites of TPAO by the regulation of ionic strength.

A Ni-base alloy composite coating reinforced with TiC particles of various shapes and sizes on medium carbon steel substrate was produced by multilayer laser cladding. The chemical compositions, microstructures and surface morphology of the cladded layer were analyzed using energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDX）, scanning electron microscope （SEM）, and X-ray diffractometry （XRD）. The experimental results showed that an excellent metallurgical bonding between the coating and the substrate was obtained. The microstructure of the coating was mainly composed of γ-Ni dendrites, a small amount of CrB, Ni3B, M23C6 and dispersed TiC particles. Much more and larger TiC particles formed in the overlapping zone, which led to a slightly higher microhardness of this zone. The maximum microhardness of the coating was about HV0.21200. The effects of the laser processing parameters on the microstructures and properties of coating were also investigated.

In this paper, the molybdenum phosphide(MoP) catalysts(TPR-MoP and TPR-MoP-Pla) were prepared by the traditional method and the RF(radio frequency) thermal plasma technique respectively and characterized by x-ray diffraction(XRD), x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), transmission electron microscope(TEM), hydrogen temperature-programmed desorption(H_2-TPD) and carbon monoxide temperature-programmed desorption(CO-TPD) measurements,and their catalytic performance for HAS was evaluated. The results showed that the total and C_(2+) alcohols selectivity of the catalyst after plasma treatment(TPR-MoP-Pla) were *** enhanced catalytic performance could be related to more dislocation defects and the synergistic effect between Mo^(0–2+) and Mo^(4+) valence species in the TPR-MoP-Pla catalyst. In addition, this work suggests that thermal plasma treatment can be used as a new preparation technique for the synthesis of materials with rich species.

Effect of Ni/(La+Mg) Ratio on Structure and Electrochemical Performance of La-Mg-Ni Alloy System

As the alloy with the most suitable Ni/（La＋Mg） ratio has higher capacity and good cycle stability,the effects of Ni/（La＋Mg） ratios on the electrochemical performances of the La0.80Mg0.20Nix （x=3.5 to 5.0） alloys have been investigated to find the most suitable Ni/（La＋Mg） ratio. The results of XRD and SEM observations show that the phase composition of the alloys varies with different Ni/（La＋Mg） ratios. When Ni/（La＋Mg） is not more than 4.25,all the alloys contain LaNi5 and （La,Mg）2Ni7 phases,in addition,the LaMg and （La,Mg）Ni3 phases exist in the x=3.5 and 3.75 alloys,respectively. The LaMg2Ni9 phase exists in the x=4.25 alloy. There are the LaNi5 and LaMg2Ni9 phases in the x=4.5,4.75,and 5.0 alloys. The phase abundance and cell volume change with different Ni content. When the Ni/（La＋Mg） ratio is not more than 4.25,the alloys possess excellent activation capability,however,the activation capabilities of the alloys decrease with a further increase in the Ni/（La＋Mg） ratio. With increasing the Ni/（La＋Mg） ratio,the maximum discharge capacities,the medium voltages,and the cycle stabilities of the alloys first increase and then decrease. When the Ni/（La＋Mg） ratio is 3.75,the corresponding alloy has the maximum discharge capacity among all the alloys. However,the cycle stability of the Ni/（La＋Mg）=4.0 alloy is better than that of the others.

To improve the cyclic stability of La-Mg-Ni system alloy, as-cast La0.75Mg0.25Ni3.5Co0.2 alloy was annealed at 1123, 1223, and 1323 K for 10 h in 0.3 MPa argon. The microstructure and electrochemical performance of different annealed alloys were investigated systematically by X-Ray Diffraction （XRD）, Scanning Electron Microscopy （SEM）, X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy （XPS）, and electrochemical experiments. The results obtained by XRD and SEM showed that the as-cast and annealed （1123 K） alloys had multiphase structure containing LaNis, （La, Mg）2（Ni, Co）7 and few LaNi2 phases. When annealing temperatures approached 1223 and 1323 K, LaNi2 phase disappeared. The annealed alloys at 1223 and 1323 K were composed of LaNi5, （La, Mg）2（Ni, Co）7 and （La, Mg）（Ni, Co）3 phases. With increasing annealing temperature, the maximum discharge capacity of the alloy decreased monotonously, but the cyclic stability was improved owing to structure homogeneity and grain growth after annealing, as well as the enhancement of anti-oxidation/corrosion ability and the suppression of pulverization during cycling in KOH electrolyte.
