We propose a trellis-compressed maximum likelihood sequence estimation(TC-MLSE)-assisted sliding-block decision feedback equalizer(DFE)to suppress the error propagation resulting from the DFE in high-speed *** use an out-ofrange detector to detect the end of burst errors from the DFE and activate the optional TC-MLSE to correct burst *** conduct experiments to transmit a 201-Gbit/s PAM-8 *** results show that the proposed method achieves a bit error rate of 3.65×10^(-3),which is close to that of *** optional MLSE is only activated when needed and processes 11.4%of the total ***,the proposed method compresses the maximum length of burst errors from 19 to 5.

Quantum key distribution(QKD)is a physical layer encryption technique that enables two distant parties to exchange secure keys with information-theoretic *** the last two decades,QKD has transitioned from laboratory research to real-world applications,including multi-user quantum access networks(QANs).This network structure allows users to share a single-photon detector at a network node through time-division multiplexing,thereby significantly reducing the network ***,current QAN implementations require additional hardware for auxiliary tasks such as time *** address this issue,we propose a cost-efficient QAN that uses qubit-based *** this approach,the transmitted qubits facilitate time synchronization,eliminating the need for additional synchronization *** tested our scheme by implementing a network for two users and successfully achieved average secure key rates of 53.84 kbps and 71.90 kbps for each user over a 50-km commercial fiber *** addition,we investigated the capacity of the access network under cross-talk and loss *** simulation results demonstrate that this scheme can support a QAN with 64 users with key rates up to 1070 *** work provides a feasible and cost-effective way to implement a multi-user QKD network,further promoting the widespread application of QKD.

The multi-wavelength optical switch based on an all-dielectric metastructure consisting of four asymmetric semi-circular rings was designed and analyzed in this *** Fano resonance modes,which can be explained by bound states in the continuum(BIC)theory,are excited in our structure with a maximum Q-factor of about 2450 and a modulation depth close to 100%.By changing the polarization direction of the incident light,the transmission amplitude of Fano resonances can get effectively *** on this tuning property,the metastructure can achieve a multi-wavelength optical switch in the near-infrared region(900—980 nm)and the maximum extinction ratio can reach 38.3 d *** addition,the results indicate that the Fano resonances are sensitive to the changes in the refractive *** sensitivity(S)and the figure of merit(FOM)are 197 nm/RIU and 492 *** proposed metastructure has promising potential in applications such as optical switches,sensors,modulators and lasers.

The all-optical approach plays an important role in ultrafast all-optical signal processing, and the all-fiber scheme has a wide application in optical communications. In this letter, we investigate an all-optical modulator using few-layer molybdenum disulfide（MoS2）-polyvinyl alcohol（PVA） thin films based on the thermo-optic effect and obtain a long-time stable modulated output by applying polarization interference. By absorbing the injected 980 nm pump（control light）, MoS2 generates heat, changes the refractive index of MoS2, and modulates the polarization of light. The obtained thermal all-optical modulator has a rise time of 526 μs.

Flexible electronic devices have attracted much attention due to their practical and commercial value. Integration of thin films with soft substrate is an effective way to fabricate flexible electronic devices. Ga_2O_3 thin films deposited directly on soft substrates would be amorphous mostly. However, the thickness of the thin film obtained by mechanical exfoliation method is difficult to control and the edge of the film is fragile and easy to be damaged. In this work, we fabricated free-standing Ga_2O_3 thin films using the water-soluble perovskite Sr_3Al_2O_6 as a sacrificial buffer layer. The obtained Ga_2O_3 thin films were polycrystalline. The thickness and dimension of the films were controllable. A flexible Ga_2O_3solar-blind UV photodetector was fabricated by transferring the free-standing Ga_2O_3 film on a flexible polyethylene terephthalate substrate. The results displayed that the photoelectric performances of the flexible Ga_2O_3 photodetector were not sensitive to bending of the device. The free-standing Ga_2O_3 thin films synthesized through the method described here can be transferred to any substrates or integrated with other thin films to fabricate electronic devices.

With the development of science, economy and society, the needs for research and exploration of deep space have entered a rapid and stable development stage. Deep Space Optical Network(DSON) is expected to become an important foundation and inevitable development trend of future deepspace communication. In this paper, we design a deep space node model which is capable of combining the space division multiplexing with frequency division multiplexing. Furthermore, we propose the directional flooding routing algorithm(DFRA) for DSON based on our node model. This scheme selectively forwards the data packets in the routing, so that the energy consumption can be reduced effectively because only a portion of nodes will participate the flooding routing. Simulation results show that, compared with traditional flooding routing algorithm(TFRA), the DFRA can avoid the non-directional and blind transmission. Therefore, the energy consumption in message routing will be reduced and the lifespan of DSON can also be prolonged effectively. Although the complexity of routing implementation is slightly increased compared with TFRA, the energy of nodes can be saved and the transmission rate is obviously improved in DFRA. Thus the overall performance of DSON can be significantly improved.
