A study on environmental aridity over northern and southern to Qinling Mountains under climate warming

Based on the data up to 1999 from hydroclimatological departments, this pape analyzes the climatic divide implications of the Qinling Mountains in regional response to the process of climate warming, due to which the grades of dryness/wetness (GDW) in 100 years show that the northern region has entered a drought period, while the southern is a humid period. In a course of ten years, the D-value of annual average air temperature over southern Shaanxi (the Hanjiang Valley) and the Central Shaanxi Plain (the Guanzhong Plain) has narrowed, i.e., the former with a slight change and the latter with rapid increase in temperature. Both regions were arid with the decrease in precipition D-value, namely the plain became warmer while the south was drier. The Qinling Mountains play a pronounced role in the climatic divide. The runoff coefficient (RC) of the Weihe River decreases synchronously with that of the Hanjiang due to climate warming. The RC of Weihe dropped from 0.2 in the 1950s to less than 0.1 in the 1990s. The Weihe Valley (the Guanzhong Plain) is practically an arid area due to shortage of water. The successive 0.5, 1.0°C temperature anomaly over china marks, perhaps, the improtant transition period in which the environment becomes more vulnerable than before. The study shows the obvious trend of environmental aridity, which is of help to the understanding of regional response to global climate change.

The Models of Granular System and Algebraic Quotient Space in Granular Computing

Granular computing(Gr C) is an emerging computing paradigm, and it is an umbrella term exploring multilevel granularity. we present a generic abstract mathematical model of the granular system. Supposing the inter-granule structure as an algebra, we propose the algebraic quotient space model. In this model, the granulation is based on a congruence relation and all the congruence relations on a granular system form a complete semi-order lattice, which is the theoretical basis for transformation,composition and decomposition among different granularities. The different granulation rules between the topological quotient space model and the algebraic quotient space model lead to the dissimilarity while composing granularities. A real-world case study is presented that demonstrates how the algebraic quotient space model works in the network transmission by error-correcting code. These work shows that the granular system model and the algebraic quotient space model are powerful conceptual modeling and functional specification methodologies for Gr C.

Effects of different carbon sources on the removal of ciprofloxacin and pollutants by activated sludge:Mechanism and biodegradation

This research investigated the effects of ciprofloxacin(CIP)(0.5,5,and 20 mg/L)on SBR systems under different carbon source *** community abundance and structure were determined by quantitative PCR and high-throughput sequencing,*** biodegradation production of CIP and possible degradation mechanism were also *** showed that CIP had adverse effects on the nutrient removal from *** with sodium acetate,glucose could be more effectively used by microorganisms,thus eliminating the negative effects of *** stimulated the microbial abundance and increased the removal rate of CIP by 18%–24%.The mechanism research indicated that Proteobacteria and Acidobacteria had a high tolerance for *** sodium acetate as a carbon source,the abundance of nitrite-oxidizing bacterial communities decreased under CIP,resulting in the accumulation of nitrite and *** and Microbacterium played a major role in nitrification and denitrification when using sodium acetate and glucose as carbon *** and Microbacterium played positive roles in the degradation process of CIP and eliminated the negative effect of CIP on SBR,which was consistent with the improved removal efficiency of pollutants.

Quotient space model based on algebraic structure

In the quotient space theory of granular computing,the universe structure is assumed to be a topology,therefore,its application is still *** this study,based on the quotient space model,the universe structure is assumed as an algebra instead of a *** to obtain the algebraic quotient operator,the granulation must be uniquely determined by a congruence relation,and all the congruence relations form a complete semi-order lattice,which is the theoretical basis of granularities ' *** the given equivalence relation is not a congruence relation,it defines the concepts of upper quotient and lower quotient,and discusses some of their properties which demonstrate that falsity preserving principle and truth preserving principle are still ***,it presents the algorithms and example of upper quotient and lower *** work extends the quotient space theory from structure,and provides theoretical basis for the combination of the quotient space theory and the algebra theory.

Effects of Homogeneous Plasma on Strong Gravitational Lensing of Kerr Black Holes

Considering the Kerr black hole surrounded by a homogeneous unmagnetized plasma medium, we study the strong gravitational lensing on the equatorial plane of the Kerr black hole. It is found that the presence of the uniform plasma can increase the photon-sphere radius r_{／rm ps}, the coefficients ／bar{a} and ／bar{b}, the angular position of the relativistic images （／theta_{／infty}）, the deflection angle ／alpha（／theta） and the angular separation s. However, the relative magnitude r_{／rm m} decreases in the presence of the uniform plasma medium. It is also shown that the impact of the uniform plasma on the effect of strong gravitational lensing becomes smaller as the spin of the Kerr black hole increases in the prograde orbit （a〉0）. In particular, for the extreme black hole （a=0.5）, the effect of strong gravitational lensing in the homogeneous plasma medium is the same as the case in vacuum for the prograde orbit.

Biocompatibility and in vitro antineoplastic drug-loaded trial of titania nanotubes prepared by anodic oxidation of a pure titanium

TiO2 nanotube (NT) arrays have been prepared by anodic oxidation of a Ti sheet,and carbon-deposited TiO2 NT arrays have been prepared by annealing TiO2 NT arrays in carbon atmosphere. The biocompatibility of the as-prepared NT arrays was investigated by observing the growth of osteosarcoma (MG-63) cells on the NT arrays. The application of the TiO2 NT arrays as a drug delivery vehicle was investigated. Both the TiO2 NTs and the carbon-modified TiO2 NTs have good biocompatibility supporting the normal growth and adhesion of MG-63 cells with no need of extracellular matrix protein coating. The one end-opened TiO2 NTs can be easily filled with drugs,working as an efficient drug delivery vehicle.

Periodic Orbits Around Kerr Sen Black Holes

We investigate periodic orbits and zoom-whirl behaviors around a Kerr Sen black hole with a rational number q in terms of three integers(z,w,v),from which one can immediately read off the number of leaves(or zooms),the ordering of the leaves,and the number of *** characteristic of zoom-whirl periodic orbits is the precession of multi-leaf orbits in the strong-field *** feature is analogous to the counterpart in the Kerr ***,we analyze the impact of the charge parameter b on the zoom-whirl periodic *** to the periodic orbits around the Kerr black hole,it is found that typically lower energies are required for the same orbits in the Kerr Sen black hole.

We investigate the effect of the RF^(2) correction on the holographic superconductor model in the background of AdS black hole,where R is the Ricci scalar of spacetime and F^(2)=FμνFμνis the Maxwell field *** observe that,similar to the effect caused by the Weyl correction,the higher RF^(2) correction term can make it easier for the scalar operator to condense and result in the larger deviation from the expected relation in the gap ***,we find that the condensation gap becomes larger as the RF^(2) correction term increases,which is in strong contrast to the influences of the Weyl correction and Gauss–Bonnet correction.

In vitro Degradation of Butanediamine-Grafted Poly(DL-Lactic acids)

The degradation of butanediamine-grafted poly（DL-lactic acid） polymers （BDPLAs） in vitro together with PDLLA and maleic anhydride-grafted poly（DL-lactic acid） polymers （MPLAs） was investigated by observation of the changes of the pH value of incubation media, and weight loss ratio during degradation duration of 12 weeks. The results reveal that the acidity of PDLLA degradation products was weakened or neutralized by grafting butanediamine onto PDLLA. A uniform degradation of BDPLAs was observed in comparison with an acidity-induced auto-accelerating degradation featured by PDLLA and MPLAs. The biodegradation behaviors of BDPLAs can be adjusted by controlling the content of BDA. BDPLAs might be a new derivative of PDLLA-based biodegradable materials for medical applications without acidity-caused irritations and acidity-induced auto-accelerating degradation behavior as that of PDLLA.

Selected spherical photon orbits around a deformed Kerr black hole

In this paper, we investigate the so-called spherical photon orbits around a deformed Kerr black hole with an extra deformation parameter. The change in the azimuth ?φ and the angle of dragging of nodes per revolution ?? of a complete latitudinal oscillated orbit is calculated analytically. Finally, representative six examples orbits are plotted out to illustrate how spherical photon orbits look like and exhibit some interesting behavior. Especially, these spherical photon orbits are absent in circular orbits and different from the Kerr case.
