Disordered hyperuniformity and thermal transport in monolayer amorphous carbon

Disordered hyperuniformity(DHU)is a recently discovered novel state of amorphous systems characterized by strongly suppressed density fluctuations at large length scales as in crystalline materials,which offers great potential for achieving unusual mechanical,electronic,and photonic ***,despite the fundamental and technological importance of thermal transport in amorphous solids,the effect of DHU remains largely ***,we theoretically study thermal transport in a class of two-dimensional DHU materials—monolayer amorphous carbon(MAC).Beginning with a perfect graphene lattice,we continuously apply Stone-Wales transformations to generate a series of MAC models with varied degrees of disorder and defects,which are quantified through comprehensive structural analysis including the so-called hyperuniformity index(H),where a smaller H indicates a higher degree of ***,we conduct molecular dynamics simulations to obtain the thermal conductivity(κ).A significant correlation between the thermal transport behavior and degree of hyperuniformity is observed,with the room-temperatureκdecreasing from 26.3 to 5.3 W m^(-1)K^(-1)while H is tuned from 0.0004 to ***,two distinct transport regimes are identified,including a nearly-DHU regime at small H(higher participation ratio for the heat carriers in nearly-DHU MAC,implying that the hidden long-range correlations could support extended modes that enhance *** work highlights the impact of DHU on the thermal properties of amorphous materials and represents a conceptual advancement that is worthy of future exploration.

The photocatalytic CO_(2) cycloaddition to prepare high value-added chemicals,such as cyclic carbonates(CCs)under mild conditions is an effective strategy to realize carbon ***,through a three-step reaction,the porphyrin-based covalent organic polymer with bimetallic active sites(Fe-COP-Zr)is successfully obtained by coordinating Fe^(2+) and Zr^(4+)with porphyrin and bipyridine(Bpy),*** to excellent photosensitivity of porphyrin moieties,Fe-COP-Zr exhibits outstanding visible light absorption,which is very important for the production of photogenerated ***,Fe-COP-Zr shows high photocatalytic performance towards CO_(2) cycloaddition with a yield of 12.1 mmol/h,which is 6 times higher than that of pure covalent organic polymer(COP)and 3 times higher than that of monometallic *** reason for this excellent photocatalytic CO_(2) cycloaddition performance may be ascribed to the synergistic effect of Fe and Zr *** photogenerated electrons are easily injected into epichlorohydrin(ECH)through Fe—O bonds to form affluent electron transition state,and interact with Zr^(4+) as Lewis acid sites for the ring-opening of ECH,which is the rate-determining step for the visible light boosted chemical fixation of CO_(2) into *** work might provide some insights for design and preparation of COPs with multiple active sites to modulate their photocatalytic activities.

Acute lung injury(ALI) was characterized by excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS) levels and inflammatory response in the lung. Scavenging ROS could inhibit the excessive inflammatory response, further treating ALI. Herein, we designed a novel nanozyme(P@Co) comprised of polydopamine(PDA) nanoparticles(NPs) loading with ultra-small Co, combining with near infrared(NIR) irradiation, which could efficiently scavenge intracellular ROS and suppress inflammatory responses against ALI. For lipopolysaccharide(LPS) induced macrophages, P@Co + NIR presented excellent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capacities through lowering intracellular ROS levels, decreasing the expression levels of interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) as well as inducing macrophage M2 directional polarization. Significantly, it displayed the outstanding activities of lowering acute lung inflammation, relieving diffuse alveolar damage, and up-regulating heat shock protein 70(HSP70) expression, resulting in synergistic enhanced ALI therapy effect. It offers a novel strategy for the clinical treatment of ROS related diseases.

In the Internet era,recommendation systems play a crucial role in helping users find relevant information from large *** imbalance is known to severely affect data quality,and therefore reduce the performance of recommendation *** to the imbalance,machine learning algorithms tend to classify inputs into the positive(majority)class every time to achieve high prediction *** can be categorized such as by features and classes,but most studies consider only class *** this paper,we propose a recommendation system that can integrate multiple networks to adapt to a large number of imbalanced features and can deal with highly skewed and imbalanced datasets through a loss *** propose a loss aware feature attention mechanism(LAFAM)to solve the issue of feature *** network incorporates an attention mechanism and uses multiple sub-networks to classify and learn *** better results,the network can learn the weights of sub-networks and assign higher weights to important *** propose suppression loss to address class imbalance,which favors negative loss by penalizing positive loss,and pays more attention to sample points near the decision *** on two large-scale datasets verify that the performance of the proposed system is greatly improved compared to baseline methods.

Autosomal recessive spinocerebellar ataxias(SCARs)are one of the most common neurodegenerative diseases characterized by progressive *** SCARs are known to be caused by mutations in multiple genes,there are still many cases that go undiagnosed or are *** this study,we presented a SCAR patient,and identified a probable novel pathogenic mutation(c.1A>G,p.M1V)in the AFG3L2 start *** proband's genotype included heterozygous mutations of the compound AFG3L2(p.[M1V];[R632X](c.[1A>G];[1894.C>T])),which were inherited from the father(c.1A>G,p.M1V)and mother(c.1894C>T,p.R632X).Functional studies performed on hi PSCs(human induced pluripotent stem cells)generated from the patients and HEK293T cells showed that the mutations impair mitochondrial function and the unbalanced expression of AFG3L2 mRNA and protein ***,this novel mutation resulted in the degradation of the protein and the reduction of the stability of the AFG3L2 protein,and MCU(mitochondrial calcium uniporter)complex mediated Ca2+overload.

Intestinal oxidation-reduction balance is essential to protect host *** on the underlying mechanisms of oxidation homeostasis can provide conditions to the treatment or protection of intestinal oxidative ***,the mechanism of polysaccharide(MBP)with alkali-extracted from mung bean skin in alleviating oxidative damage induced by H_(2)O_(2)-induced in intestinal epithelial cells(IEC)-6 cells was *** indicated that MBP effectively mitigated the H_(2)O_(2)-induced decrease in IEC-6 cell viability,restored superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity,lowered malondialdehyde(MDA)content,and decreased reactive oxygen species(ROS)*** blotting showed that MBP may mitigate oxidative damage through NF-κB,MAPK and Nrf2 signaling pathway,and RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)analysis confirmed that MBP can protect cells by regulating MAPK and NF-κB signaling ***,the results of the inhibitor experiment also support the above *** results verified that MBP has the capacity to mitigate oxidative damage induced by H_(2)O_(2)in IEC-6 cells through MAPK and NF-κB signaling *** study showed that MBP can assist preventing intestinal diseases relating to oxidative stress,which could facilitate the development of functional foods.

All-season thermal management with zero energy consumption and emissions is more crucial to global decarbonization over traditional energy-intensive cooling/heating ***,the static single thermal management for cooling or heating fails to self-regulate the temperature in dynamic seasonal temperature ***,inspired by the dual-temperature regulation function of the fur color changes on the backs and abdomens of penguins,a smart thermal management composite hydrogel(PNA@H-PM Gel) system was subtly created though an "on-demand" dual-layer structure design *** PNA@H-PM Gel system features synchronous solar and thermal radiation modulation as well as tunable phase transition temperatures to meet the variable seasonal thermal requirements and energy-saving demands via self-adaptive radiative cooling and solar heating ***,this system demonstrates superb modulations of both the solar reflectance(ΔR=0.74) and thermal emissivity(ΔE=0.52) in response to ambient temperature changes,highlighting efficient temperature regulation with average radiative cooling and solar heating effects of 9.6℃ in summer and 6.1℃ in winter,***,compared to standard building baselines,the PNA@H-PM Gel presents a more substantial energy-saving cooling/heating potentials for energy-efficient buildings across various regions and *** novel solution,inspired by penguins in the real world,will offer a fresh approach for producing intelligent,energy-saving thermal management materials,and serve for temperature regulation under dynamic climate conditions and even throughout all seasons.

Carbon-supported CeNCl as an efficient catalyst for CO_(2)cycloaddition

The cycloaddition reaction of CO_(2)with epoxide not only effectively reduces the concentration of CO_(2)in the atmosphere,but also has excellent industrial application value and up to 100%atom utilization,but there are difficulties in separation and recovery of traditional homogeneous catalysts,harsh reaction conditions of traditional heterogeneous catalysts,and activation of CO_(2)*** this paper,an easily synthesized heterogeneous catalyst CeNCl/C was used to catalyze the cycloaddition reaction of CO_(2)with styrene oxide,with a high yield of 92.7%,a high selectivity of 96.7%,a turnover numbers(TON)value of 349,and a good stability demonstrated in six cycle tests(equivalent to 216 h of testing).Through comprehensive studies,it was shown that CeNCl/C contains Lewis acid-base centers as active centers,which can effectively reduce the energy barrier required for ring opening of the reaction substrate,enhance the adsorption and activation of CO_(2),and promote the formation of intermediates,which led to the acquisition of excellent catalytic activity.
