Real-world evidence on the efficacy and safety of vonoprazanamoxicillin dual therapy for Helicobacter pylori treatment in elderly patients

BACKGROUND A dual therapy regimen containing amoxicillin is a common treatment option for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori(***).While substantial research supports the efficacy and safety of vonoprazan and amoxicillin(VA)dual therapy in the general population,there is still a lack of studies specifically focusing on its safety in elderly *** To evaluate efficacy and safety of VA dual therapy as first-line or rescue treatment for *** in elderly *** As a real-world retrospective study,data were collected from elderly patients aged 60 years and above who accepted VA dual therapy(vonoprazan 20 mg twice daily+amoxicillin 1000 mg thrice daily for 14 days)for *** eradication in the Department of Gastroenterology at Peking University First hospital between June 2020 and January *** status was evaluated by^(13)C-urease breath test 6 weeks after *** adverse events(AEs)during treatment were *** In total,401 cases were ***-one cases were excluded due to loss to follow-up,lack of re-examination,or unwillingness to take *** total of 380 included cases comprised 250 who received VA dual therapy as first-line treatment and 130 who received VA dual therapy as rescue *** was successfully eradicated in 239 cases(95.6%)in the first-line treatment group and 116 cases(89.2%)in the rescue treatment *** overall incidence of AEs was 9.5%for both ***,9.2%of patients experienced an AE in the first-line treatment group and 10.0%in the rescue treatment *** patients discontinued treatment due to AE,with a discontinuation rate of 1.3%.No serious AE *** The VA dual therapy regimen as a first-line treatment and a rescue therapy was effective and safe for elderly patients aged 60 and older.

Seasonal infl uenza,which is transmitted by droplets and direct contact,is a global public health issue that causes an average of 2.5 excess infl uenza-like illness(ILI)consultations per 1,000 person-years in China.[1]Nonpharmaceutical interventions(NPIs)against droplet and direct contact transmission,including social distancing measures and personal protective measures,are recommended to reduce the spread of *** distancing measures comprised isolating ill persons,quarantining exposed persons,school and workplace closures,and avoiding *** protective measures included hygiene,respiratory etiquette,and face masks.[2]In December 2019,coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)started to spread,and China introduced NPIs to address the pandemic in January *** NPIs could also help reduce the spread of other respiratory diseases,such as seasonal influenza.[3]In the second half of 2020,the COVID-19 pandemic was gradually brought under ***,transport,and schools were returning to normal,while citizens were still required to wear masks in *** of influenza also *** study compared the ILI percentage(ILI%),laboratory(LAB)-positive rate,incidence rate,and effective reproductive number(Rt)of infl uenzas from 2019 to 2022 to clarify the change in seasonal infl uenza spread after the COVID-19 outbreak.

Trans-anal barotrauma resulting from the use of air guns is rare in the emergency *** diagnosis and timely treatment can yield a good *** first published case of trans-anal barotrauma caused by a manually operated force pump was reported in 1904.[1]Colorectal injuries have the potential to progress to high-mortality complications,such as abdominal infection,peritonitis,and septic shock.[2,3]Herein,we report a case of trans-anal barotrauma in a man who presented with pneumoperitoneum,pneumomediastinum,and *** performed laparoscopic exploration and loop ileostomy on this patient.

Identifying a novel frameshift pathogenic variant in a Chinese family with neurofibromatosis type 1 and review of literature
