This study was performed to investigate the availability of forward osmosis(FO)for microalgae harvesting using sulfonated polyethersulfone(SPES)/PES porous *** FO process,porous membranes(<25.0 L m^−2 h^−1)exhibited more superior water flux than TFC FO membranes(<2.6 L m^−2 h^−1).Furthermore,the incorporation of SPES has been demonstrated to enhance membrane *** effects of SPES content on pore structure and separation performance were *** with pure PES porous membranes,porous membranes with 40%SPES yielded an improved hydrophilicity and greater *** exhibited two times higher water fluxes than the pure PES porous *** microalgae harvesting,AL-FS mode(active layer facing the feed solution)was more favourable than AL-DS mode(active layer facing the draw solution)because less deposited microalgae on the active layer mitigate the membrane *** operation combined with SPES/PES porous membranes is conducive to preserving microalgae cell integrity under the mild *** addition,FO membrane can be cleaned by a simple water *** implications were highlighted as a sustainable method for microalgae harvesting because of no pressure input and less chemical cleaning demand.

The accumulating evidence revealed that gut microbiota plays an important role in pathological process of disease including obesity,type 2 diabetes mellitus,heart failure,and non-alcoholic fatty liver *** extracted from Chinese medicine(CM)can not only alleviate pathological status but also promote health by anti-inflammatory,regulating immunity,lowering blood glucose and lipids,anti-cancer,and *** alterations of gut microbiota composition and metabolism pathways are the potential mechanisms of CM polysaccharides *** addition,they exert functions through gut-organ axis or play an indirect role by synergistic actions with other drugs or components mediated by gut *** review summarizes the molecular mechanisms of CM polysaccharides interacted with intestinal microbial inhabitants as potential prebiotics forpromoting health.

A new pseudorandom number generator based on a complex number chaotic equation

In recent years, various chaotic equation based pseudorandom number generators have been proposed. However, the chaotic equations are all defined in the real number field. In this paper, an equation is proposed and proved to be chaotic in the imaginary axis. And a pseudorandom number generator is constructed based on the chaotic equation. The alteration of the definitional domain of the chaotic equation from the real number field to the complex one provides a new approach to the construction of chaotic equations, and a new method to generate pseudorandorn number sequences accordingly. Both theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the sequences generated by the proposed pseudorandom number generator possess many good properties.

Rosa rugosa *** one of the dominant and important shrub species in estuary dunes and shingle beaches of northern ***,its area of distribution,the number of populations,and the size of each population have decreased rapidly in the past two decades because of habitat degradation and *** amplified polymorphic DNA markers were used to determine the genetic diversity of four remaining large natural populations of *** and to discuss an effective conservation strategy for this endangered species in *** genetic variations were detected in *** populations in *** mean percentage of polymorphic loci(P%) within four local populations was 57.99%,with the P%of the total population being 75.30%.Mean Shannon’s information index(H0) was 0.2826,whereas total H0was *** genetic differentiation among populations was 0.1878, which indicates that most genetic diversity occurs within *** Tumenjiang(TMJ) showed the highest genetic diversity(P%= 66.27%;H0= 0.3117) and contained two exclusive *** Changshandao (CSD) showed higher genetic diversity(P%= 59.04%;H0= 0.3065).Populations TMJ and CSD contained 95.33% and 99.33%,respectively,of loci with moderate to high frequency(P>0.05) of the total *** results indicate that populations TMJ and CSD should be given priority for in situ conservation and regarded as seed or propagule sources for ex situ *** results of the present study also suggest that *** in China has become endangered as a result of human actions rather than genetic depression of populations;thus,human interference should be absolutely forbidden in *** habitats.

In the disturbance of unsteady flow field under the sea, the monitoring accuracy and precision of the bottom-mounted acoustic monitoring platform will decrease. In order to reduce the hydrodynamic interference, the platform wrapped with fairing structure and separated from the retrieval unit is described. The suppression effect evaluation based on the correlation theory of sound pressure and particle velocity for spherical wave in infinite homogeneous medium is proposed and the difference value between them is used to evaluate the hydrodynamic restraining performance of the bottom-mounted platform under far field condition. Through the sea test, it is indicated that the platform with sparse layers fairing structure(there are two layers for the fairing, in which the inside layer is 6-layers sparse metal net, and the outside layer is 1-layer polyester cloth, and then it takes sparse layers for short) has no attenuation in the sound pressure response to the sound source signal, but obvious suppression in the velocity response to the hydrodynamic noise. The effective frequency of the fairing structure is decreased below 10 Hz, and the noise magnitude is reduced by 10 d B. With the comparison of different fairing structures, it is concluded that the tighter fairing structure can enhance the performance of sound transmission and flow restraining.

Web image retrieval is a challenging task. One central problem of web image retrieval is to rank a set of images according to how well they meet the user information need. The problem of learning to rank has inspired numerous approaches to resolve it in the text information retrieval, related work for web image retrieval, however, are still limited. We focus on the problem of learning to rank images for web image retrieval, and propose a novel ranking model, which employs a genetic programming architecture to automatically generate an effective ranking function, by combining various types of evidences in web image retrieval, including text information, image visual content features, link structure analysis and temporal information. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithms are capable of learning effective ranking functions for web image retrieval. Significant improvement in relevancy obtained, in comparison to some other well-known ranking techniques, in terms of MAP, NDCG@n and D@n.

Sexual reproduction first appeared in unicellular protists and has continued to be an essential biological process in almost all *** protists, which contain both germline and somatic genomes within a single cell, have evolved a special form of sexual reproduction called conjugation that involves mitosis, meiosis, fertilization, nuclear differentiation, genome rearrangement, and the development of unique cellular structures. The molecular basis and mechanisms of conjugation vary dramatically among ciliates, and many details of the process and its regulation are still largely unknown. In order to better comprehend these processes and mechanisms from an evolutionary perspective, this study provides the first comprehensive overview of the transcriptome and proteome profiles during the entire life cycle of the newly-established marine model ciliate Euplotes vannus. Transcriptome analyses from 14 life cycle stages(three vegetative stages and 11 sexual stages) revealed over 26,000 genes that are specifically expressed at different stages, many of which are related to DNA replication,transcription, translation, mitosis, meiosis, nuclear differentiation, and/or genome rearrangement. Quantitative proteomic analyses identified 338 proteins with homologs associated with conjugation and/or somatic nuclear development in other ciliates, including dicer-like proteins, Hsp90 proteins, RNA polymerase Ⅱ and transcription elongation factors, ribosomal-associated proteins, and ubiquitin-related proteins. Four of these homologs belong to the PIWI family, each with different expression patterns identified and confirmed by RT-qPCR,which may function in small RNA-mediated genome rearrangement. Proteins involved in the nonhomologous end-joining pathway are induced early during meiosis and accumulate in the developing new somatic nucleus, where more than 80% of the germline sequences are eliminated from the somatic genome.
