CaP-coated Zn-Mn-Li alloys regulate osseointegration via influencing macrophage polarization in the osteogenic environment

Immune response is an important factor in determining the fate of bone replacement materials,in which macrophages play an important *** is a new idea to design biomaterials with immunomodulatory function to reduce inflammation and promote bone integration by regulating macrophages *** this work,the immunomodulatory properties of CaP Zn-Mn-Li alloys and the specific mechanism of action were *** found that the CaP Zn0.8Mn0.1Li alloy promoted the polarization of macrophages toward M2 and reduced inflammation,which could effectively upregulate osteogenesis-related factors and promote new bone formation,indicating the important role of macrophages polarization in biomaterial induction of *** vivo studies further demonstrated that CaP Zn0.8Mn0.1Li alloy could stimulate osteogenesis better than other Zn-Mn-Li alloys implantations by regulating macrophages polarization and reducing *** addition,transcriptome results showed that CaP Zn0.8Mn0.1Li played an important regulatory role in the life process of macrophages,activating Toll-like receptor signaling pathway,which participated in the activation and attenuation of inflammation,and accelerated bone ***,by preparing CaP coatings on the surface of Zn-Mn-Li alloys and combining the bioactive ingredient with controlled release,the biomaterial will be imbibed with beneficial immunomodulatory properties that promote bone integration.

A Sensitive Derivatization Method for the Determination of the Sugar Composition after Pre-column Reductive Amination with 3-Amino-9-ethylcarbazole （AEC） by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography

3-Amino-9-ethylcarbazole （AEC） was employed for monosaccharide derivatization. The derivatives can be analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography （HPLC） with an ultraviolet detection （wavelength： 254 nm）. Monosaccharides were quantitatively derivatized with 3-amino-9-ethylcarbazole （AEC） at 70 ℃ for 60 min. The method was linear for all samples over the concentration range tested （r〉0.999）, the precision was found to be satisfactory （R.S.D. 〈 3%）, and the recovery ratios were 〉98.62%. The stability analysis showed R.S.D. was between 1.81%-3.16%. Detection limits for the samples （D-glucose, L-xylose, D-mannose, L-arabinose, and L-rhamnose） ranged from 0.06 to 1.97 ng/mL （S/N=3）. Under the optimized derivatization and HPLC conditions, five monosaccharides were well separated using a narrow bore C18 column （250 mm×4.6 mm） with 0.1 mol/L ammonium acetate containing 25% acetonitrile at a flow rate of 0.5 mL/min. As an application, the method has been successfully applied to the determination of monosaccharide compositions of three polysaccharides SPPA-1, SPPB-1 and SPPC- 1 of Spirulina platensis. This method also has potential application to oligosaccharide or glycan analyses.

Controlled preparation and self-assembly of NdVO_4 nanocrystals

Phase-pure t-NdVO_4 nanocrystals with different shapes have been synthesized by facile and repeatable hydrothermal methods. The as-synthesized t-NdVO_4 nanoparticles were characterized by various techniques of X-ray diffraction（XRD）. scanning electron microscope（SEM） and transmission electron microscope（TEM）. The growth process and assembly behavior of t-NdVO_4 nanorod arrays were investigated. The results show that the morphology of t-NdV04 nanocrystals is greatly related to the pH value of precursor solution and that strong basic solution is not in favor of the formation of t-NdVO_4 nanoparticles. Due to the strong adhesive action and stabilization of OH^-ions to some crystal faces of NdVO_4, neodymium vanadate crystallite grows into oriented short nanorods and then into nanorod arrays. The shape, crystalline and dimension of NdVO_4 nanocrystals can be effectively governed in our work.

An LD-pumped dual-wavelength actively Q-switched Nd:Sc_(0.2)Y_(0.8)SiO_5 laser

We demonstrate a laser-diode （LD） pumped actively Q-switched laser with Nd：Sc0.2Y0.5SiO5 （Nd：SYSO） crystal for the first time. A stable actively Q-switched laser is obtained at dual wavelengths of 1 075.2 nm and 1 078.2 nm. The maximum average output power of 720 mW is obtained at the repetition rate of 15 kHz under the pump power of 8.7 W. The minimum pulse width of 58 ns is obtained at the repetition rate of 5 kHz under the pump power of 8.7 W, corresponding to the peak power of 1.9 kW and the pulse energy of 112 μJ.

Structural modification of BODIPY: Improve its applicability

BODIPY has been considered a potential scaffold because of their neutral total charge, sharp absorption,and emission with high fluorescence quantum yield. However, the drawback of emission wavelength at less than 600 nm and hydrophobicity limit its application. One of the extremely interesting properties of BODIPY is that small modifications to their structures could be able to tune their properties, mainly including the absorption/emission wavelength and the hydrophilicity. This review focuses on the modification at different positions of BODIPY to improve the water-solubility and emission wavelength that describe their spectral, photophysical properties and applicability, which is helpful for the researchers to rationally design BODIPY dyes to adapt a wide range of applications.

Development of autonomous navigation system for rice transplanter

Rice transplanting requires the operator to manipulate the rice transplanter in straight *** markers are proposed to help experienced drivers in keeping straightforward and parallel to the previous path,which are extremely boring in terms of large-scale *** objective of this research was to develop an autonomous navigation system that automatically guided a rice transplanter working along predetermined paths in the *** rice transplanter used in this research was commercially available and originally *** automatic manipulating system was developed instead of manual functions including steering,stop,going forward and reverse.A sensor fusion algorithm was adopted to integrate measurements of the Real-Time Kinematic Global Navigation Satellite System(RTK-GNSS)and Inertial Measurement Unit(IMU),and calculate the absolute moving direction under the UTM coordinate system.A headland turning control method was proposed to ensure a robust turning process considering that the rice transplanter featured a small turning radius and a relatively large slip rate at extreme steering *** were designed and conducted to verify the performance of the newly developed autonomous navigation *** showed that both lateral and heading errors were less than 8 cm and 3 degrees,respectively,in terms of following straight *** headland turns were robustly executed according to the required pattern.

Effect of baffle injectors on the first-order tangential acoustic mode in a cylindrical combustor

Combustion instability is a very important issue in the development of the propulsion systems used in aerospace. It is very important to associate the high frequency combustion instabilities with the acoustic characteristics of the combustion chamber. In this paper, the effects of various baffle injectors which were installed on the injector faceplate on the first-order tangential acoustic mode were investigated theoretically and experimentally. The effects of the gap between adjacent injectors on the first-order tangential acoustic mode in a cylindrical chamber were considered. The acoustic admittance of the injectors was derived. The results showed that the amplitude and frequency of the first-order tangential acoustic mode increase with the increase in the gap between adjacent injectors, but decrease with the increase in the number and height of the *** baffle injectors have a greater influence on the amplitude and frequency of the first-order tangential acoustic mode than the baffle blades.

View-invariant human action recognition via robust locally adaptive multi-view learning

Human action recognition is currently one of the most active research areas in computer vision. It has been widely used in many applications, such as intelligent surveillance, perceptual interface, and content-based video retrieval. However, some extrinsic factors are barriers for the development of action recognition; e.g., human actions may be observed from arbitrary camera viewpoints in realistic scene. Thus, view-invariant analysis becomes important for action recognition algorithms, and a number of researchers have paid much attention to this issue. In this paper, we present a multi-view learning approach to recognize human actions from different views. As most existing multi-view learning algorithms often suffer from the problem of lacking data adaptiveness in the nearest neighborhood graph construction procedure, a robust locally adaptive multi-view learning algorithm based on learning multiple local L 1-graphs is proposed. Moreover, an efficient iterative optimization method is proposed to solve the proposed objective function. Experiments on three public view-invariant action recognition datasets, i.e., ViHASi, IXMAS, and WVU, demonstrate data adaptiveness, effectiveness, and efficiency of our algorithm. More importantly, when the feature dimension is correctly selected （i.e., 〉60）, the proposed algorithm stably outperforms state-of-the-art counterparts and obtains about 6% improvement in recognition accuracy on the three datasets.

The regulation of interface electron-transfer and catalytic kinetics is very important to design the efficient electrocatalyst for alkaline hydrogen oxidation reaction(HOR).Here,we show the Pt-Ni alloy nanoparticles(PtNi_(2))have an enhanced HOR activity compared with single component Pt ***,the interface electron-transfer kinetics of PtNi_(2)catalyst exhibits a very wide electron-transfer speed *** combined with carbon dots(CDs),the interface charge transfer of PtNi_(2)-CDs composite is optimized,and then the PtNi_(2)-5 mg CDs exhibits about 2.67 times and 4.04 times higher mass and specific activity in 0.1 M KOH than that of 20%commercial Pt/*** this system,CDs also contribute to trapping H^(+)and H_(2)O generated during HOR,tuning hydrogen binding energy(HBE),and regulating interface electron *** work provides a deep understanding of the interface catalytic kinetics of Pt-based alloys towards highly efficient HOR catalysts design.

Study on Carbonation Damage Constitutive Curve and Microscopic Damage Mechanism of Tailing Recycled Concrete

To improve the resource utilization of recycled aggregate concrete(RAC)and make use of the unique pozzolanic activation characteristics of iron ore tailing(IOT),the constitutive curves of tailing recycled concrete(TRC)before and after carbonization were analyzed theoretically,experimentally and ***,according to the experimental data,the damage constitutive and related damage parameters of TRC were theoretically established by Weibull probability distribution ***,the comprehensive damage parameter b under different working conditions was ***,the damage mechanism was formed by EDS and *** results showed that the damage constitutive model based on Weibull probability distribution function was in good agreement with the experimental *** each carbonization period,the b first decreased and then rose with the increase of tailings *** its content was 30%,the b values of TRC were minimized,which were 22.14%,20.99%,25.39%lower than those of NAC,and 41.09%,34.89%,35.44%lower than those of RAC,indicating that IOT had a relatively good optimization effect on the constitutive curve of *** microscopic analysis results also proved that the IOT addition with a proper amount would improve the matrix structure of RAC and increased its compactness,but when the content was higher,it would also cause harmful cracks in its matrix structure and reduced its ***,the optimal tailing content was about 30%.This paper provided a new method for damage constitutive calculation and analysis of TRC before and after carbonization.
