Knee osteoarthritis is a chronic disease caused by the deterioration of the knee joint due to various factors such as aging,trauma,and obesity,and the nonrenewable nature of the injured cartilage makes the treatment of osteoarthritis ***,we present a three-dimensional(3D)printed porous multilayer scaffold based on cold-water fish skin gelatin for osteoarticular cartilage *** make the scaffold,cold-water fish skin gelatin was combined with sodium alginate to increase viscosity,printability,and mechanical strength,and the hybrid hydrogel was printed according to a pre-designed specific structure using 3D printing ***,the printed scaffolds underwent a double-crosslinking process to enhance their mechanical strength even *** scaffolds mimic the structure of the original cartilage network in a way that allows chondrocytes to adhere,proliferate,and communicate with each other,transport nutrients,and prevent further damage to the *** importantly,we found that cold-water fish gelatin scaffolds were nonimmunogenic,nontoxic,and *** also implanted the scaffold into defective rat cartilage for 12 weeks and achieved satisfactory repair results in this animal ***,cold-water fish skin gelatin scaffolds may have broad application potential in regenerative medicine.

Osteoarthritis(OA),in which M1 macrophage polarization in the synovium exacerbates disease progression,is a major cause of cartilage degeneration and functional *** strategies of OA designed to interfere with the polarization of macrophages have rarely been ***,we report that SHP099,as an allosteric inhibitor of src-homology 2-containing protein tyrosine phosphatase 2(SHP2),attenuated osteoarthritis progression by inhibiting M1 macrophage *** demonstrated that M1 macrophage polarization was accompanied by the overexpression of SHP2 in the synovial tissues of OA patients and OA model *** to wild-type(WT)mice,myeloid lineage conditional Shp2 knockout(c KO)mice showed decreased M1 macrophage polarization and attenuated severity of synovitis,an elevated expression of cartilage phenotype protein collagen II(COL2),and a decreased expression of cartilage degradation markers collagen X(COL10)and matrix metalloproteinase3(MMP3)in OA *** mechanistic analysis showed that SHP099 inhibited lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced Toll-like receptor(TLR)signaling mediated by nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB)and PI3K—AKT ***,intra-articular injection of SHP099 also significantly attenuated OA progression,including joint synovitis and cartilage *** results indicated that allosteric inhibition of SHP2 might be a promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of OA.

Cerium oxide(CeO2) coated on copper modified attapulgite clay nanocomoposite(CeO2/Cu2+-ATP) was prepared by homogeneous deposition *** microstructures of the as-prepared CeO2/Cu2+-ATP nanocomposites were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),energy-dispersive spectrometer(EDS) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The results indicated that CeO2 particles with average size of about 5 nm were loaded onto the Cu2+-ATP and were widely *** the catalytic activity of ATP/CeO2 and CeO2/Cu2+-ATP,the catalytic activity was improved when a small quantity of Cu2+ was *** loading amount of CeO2 and reaction temperature had important effects on decolorization ratio of methyl orange(MO).When the loading amount and reaction temperature were 70% and 338 K,respectively,the decolorization ratio of MO reached over 99%,which showed excellent catalytic activity.

Mixed-matrix membranes(MMMs)have received much attention due to their processable advantages of polymer and high permeability and/or selectivity of porous metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)***,the interfacial defects caused by poor interaction between MOFs with polymers and the agglomeration phenomenon caused by uneven dispersion of MOFs are common problems in mixed-matrix ***,the priming protocol is one of solutions to the above problems,but it cannot precisely regulate the dispersion of particles and the interfacial compatibility between two ***,covalent grafting of polyimide 6FDA-Durene onto the surface of UiO-66-NH2 can mitigate the aggregation of fillers inside the polymeric matrices and improve the interfacial interaction between two phases,thus significantly improving the CO_(2)/CH_(4)separation performance on the as-synthesized *** explored gas transport mechanism indicated that the improved separation was due to the raise of solubility ***,the stronger covalent bond between fillers and polyimide than physical interaction of priming protocol also endows the improved anti-plasticization phenomenon for CO_(2)/CH_(4)separation.

Enhanced permeation performance of polyether-polyamide block copolymer membranes through incorporating ZIF-8 nanocrystals

Membrane-based CO_2 separation is a promising alternative in terms of energy and environmental issues to other conventional techniques. Polyether-polyamide block copolymer(Pebax) membranes are promising for CO_2 separation because of their excellent selectivity, but limited by their moderate gas permeability. In this study,fresh-prepared zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8) nanocrystals were integrated into the Pebax?1657matrices to form mixed matrix membranes. The resulting membrane exhibits significantly improved CO_2permeability(as high as 300% increase), without the sacrifice of the selectivity, to the pristine polymer membrane. Several physical characterization techniques were employed to confirm the good interfacial interaction between ZIF-8 fillers and Pebax matrices. The effect of added ZIF-8 fillers on the transport mechanism through MMMs is also explored. Mixed-gas permeation for both CO_2/N_2 and CO_2/CH_4 was also evaluated. The separation performance for CO_2/CH_4 mixtures on the ZIF-8/Pebax MMMs is very close to the Roberson upper bound, and thus is technologically attractive for purification of natural gas.

Facile synthesis of CeO2 nanotubes templated by modified attapulgite

CeO2 nanotubes were synthesized facilely via a layer-by-layer deposition approach using modified attapulgite as hard template. The formation details were investigated by a combination of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy disperse spectroscopy (EDS) and fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR) characterizations. The obtained CeO2 nanotubes have a uniform diameter ranging from 20–40 nm with a bundle-like structure. Calcination temperature plays a critical role in the integrity of the nanotubes. A possible formation mechanism has been proposed to explain the formation of CeO2 nanotubes. This synthesis strategy by taking advantage of natural clay as sacrificial template implies a simple and inexpensive way to prepare oxide nanotubes on a large scale.

The skyrmion stability at finite isospin chemical potentialμ_I is studied using the Skyrme Lagrangian with a finite pion mass m_π.A critical valueμ_(Ic)=■,above which a stable soliton does not exist,is *** also explore some properties of the skyrmion as function of i.e.,the isoscalar rms radius and the isoscalar magnetic rms ***,considering the finite temperature effect on the skyrmion mass,we obtain a critical temperature T_c,using the profile function of the skyrmion,above which the skyrmion mass does not have a minimum,which can be interpreted as the occurrence of the deconfinement phase transition.

The Viscosity-reducing Mechanism of Organic Wax Additive on CRMA

CRMA was prepared by mixing PG 64-22 asphalt with crumb rubber powder of 40 mesh size and 18% by weight of the asphalt. Sasobit, a typical organic wax additive, was selected and added into CRMA. A series of tests, namely, brookfield viscosity, environmental scanning electron microscope（ESEM）, component test, differential scanning calorimeter（DSC）, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） and nuclear magnetic resonance （NMR） were conducted on CRMA with and without organic wax additive, and microcosmic appearance, component content and molecular structure of various asphalt binders were obtained. The test results indicate that the addition of Sasobit~ into CRMA can effectively change the contents of components： the content of asphaltenes increases relatively, while saturates decreases. In addition, the interaction between various components of CRMA is weakened, and the state of equilibrium between the dispersant and dispersed phase is changed at the same time. That is why the viscosity decreases after the organic wax additive is added into CRMA.
