As battery technology evolves and demand for efficient energy storage solutions,aqueous zinc ion batteries(AZIBs)have garnered significant attention due to their safety and environmental ***,the stability of cathode materials under high-voltage conditions remains a critical challenge in improving its energy *** review systematically explores the failure mechanisms of high-voltage cathode materials in AZIBs,including hydrogen evolution reaction,phase transformation and dissolution *** address these challenges,we propose a range of advanced strategies aimed at improving the stability of cathode *** strategies include surface coating and doping techniques designed to fortify the surface properties and structure integrity of the cathode materials under high-voltage ***,we emphasize the importance of designing antioxidant electrolytes,with a focus on understanding and optimizing electrolyte decomposition *** review also highlights the significance of modifying conductive agents and employing innovative separators to further enhance the stability of *** integrating these cutting-edge approaches,this review anticipates substantial advancements in the stability of high-voltage cathode materials,paving the way for the broader application and development of AZIBs in energy storage.

Quantum teleportation is of both fundamental interest and great practical importance in quantum information *** date,quantum teleportation has been implemented in various physical systems,among which superconducting qubits are of particular practical significance as they emerge as a leading system to realize large-scale quantum ***,scaling up the number of superconducting qubits on a single chip becomes increasing challenging because of some emergent technical *** of quantum teleportation and remote computation over qubits on distant superconducting chips is a key quantum communication technology to scaling up the system through a distributed quantum computational ***,this goal has not been realized yet in experiments due to the technical challenges including making a quantum interconnect between distant superconducting chips and the inefficient transfer of flying microwave photons over the lossy *** we demonstrate deterministic teleportation of quantum states and entangling gates between distant superconducting chips connected by a 64-m-long cable bus featuring an ultralow loss of 0.32 dB/km at cryogenic temperatures,where high fidelity remote entanglement is generated via flying microwave *** work demonstrates a prime building block for distributed quantum computation with superconducting qubits,and opens up a new avenue for waveguide quantum electrodynamics and quantum photonics at microwave frequencies.

Chuetsu earthquake damages in Niigata County of Japan

An Earthquake ML=6.8 occurred on October 23, 2004 in Chuetsu area of Niigata County in Japan, which caused 40 people dead, more than 4500 people injured and 1000000 people homeless; nearly 140000 buildings were damaged or collapsed. The estated total loss of this earthquake was about 3000 billions Yen. In this paper, we investigate the Chuetsu earthquake damage from different aspects, including the seismic outline, seismicity, intensity distribution, wave feature, damage analyses, and economic losses. Finally, experiences and lessons from the earthquake damage are given. The content in this paper may be a reference for structural seismic design and code modification.

Effective degradation of tetracycline by mesoporous Bi2WO6 under visible light irradiation

Bi2WO6 was synthesized with a hydrothermal method at different pHs and used for the degradation of tetracycline （TC） in water. The mesoporous BiEWO6 prepared at pH 1 （BWO-1） displayed the highest adsorption and degradation capacity to TC due to its large surface area and more efficient capacity to separate photogenerated electrons and holes. 97% of TC at 20 mg · L-1 was removed by BWO-1 at 0.5 g-L-1 after 120min irradiation under simulated solar light. Only 31% of the total organic carbon （TOC） was removed after 360 min irradiation although the TC removal reached 100%, suggesting that TC was mainly transformed to intermediate products rather than completely mineralized. The inter- mediates were identified by high-performance liquid chromatography-time of flight-mass spectrometry （HPLC-TOF-MS） and possible photodegradation path- ways were proposed.

Deep Desulfurization of Diesel Fuels with Plasma/Air as Oxidizing Medium,Diperiodatocuprate(Ⅲ)as Catalyzer and Ionic Liquid as Extraction Solvent

In this paper, the oxidative desulfurization （ODS） system is directly applied to deal with the catalytic oxidation of sulfur compounds of sulfur-containing model oil by dielectric barrier discharge （DBD） plasma in the presence of air plus an extraction step with the oxidation-treated fuel put over ionic liquid [BMIM]FeC14 （1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrachloroferrate）. This new system exhibited an excellent desulfurization effect. The sulfur content of DBT in diesel oil decreased from 200 ppm to 4.92 ppm （S removal rate up to 97.5%） under the following optimal reaction conditions： air flow rate （v） of 60 mL/min, amplitude of applied voltage （U） on DBD of 16 kV, input frequency （f） of 79 kHz, catalyst amount （w） of 1.25 wt%, reaction time （t） of 10 min. Moreover, a high desulfurization rate was obtained during oxidation of benzothiophene （BT） or 4,6-DMDBT （4,6-dimethyl-dibenzothiophene） under the aforementioned conditions. The oxidation reactivity of different S compounds was decreased in the order of DBT, 4,6-DMDBT and BT. The remarkable advantage of the novel ODS system is that the desulfurization condition applies in the presence of air at ambient conditions without peroxides, aqueous solvent or biphasic oil-aqueous solution system.

Comparative sorption and desorption behaviors of PFHx S and PFOS on sequentially extracted humic substances

The sorption and desorption behaviors of two perfluoroalkane sulfonates（PFSAs）, including perfluorohexane sulfonate（PFHx S） and perfluorooctane sulfonate（PFOS） on two humic acids（HAs） and humin（HM）, which were extracted from a peat soil, were investigated. The sorption kinetics and isotherms showed that the sorption of PFOS on the humic substances（HSs） was much higher than PFHx S. For the same PFSA compound, the sorption on HSs followed the order of HM 〉 HA2 〉 HA1. These suggest that hydrophobic interaction plays a key role in the sorption of PFSAs on HSs. The sorption capacities of PFSAs on HSs were significantly related to their aliphaticity, but negatively correlated to aromatic carbons,indicating the importance of aliphatic groups in the sorption of PFSAs. Compared to PFOS,PFHx S displayed distinct desorption hysteresis, probably due to irreversible pore deformation after sorption of PFHx S. The sorption of the two PFSAs on HSs decreased with an increase in p H in the solution. This is ascribed to the electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonding at lower p H. Hydrophobic interaction might also be stronger at lower p H due to the aggregation of HSs.

Covalent edge-functionalization of graphene oxide with porphyrins for highly efficient photoinduced electron/energy transfer and enhanced nonlinear optical performance

Covalent modification of graphene oxide(GO)with functional chromophores plays an important role in constructing various kinds of advanced optoelectronic materials for applications in molecular diagnosis,light-harvesting,photodynamic therapy,and optical ***,a new approach to functionalizing GO with meso-substituted formylporphyrins at GO’s edge sites via imidazole condensation is developed,which affords a novel GO-imi-Por nanohybrid covalently-linked by imidazole rings between two *** structure of the GO-imi-Por nanohybrid was thoroughly characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared(ATR-FTIR),Raman,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The red-shifted steady-state absorption,95%quenched fluorescence,and largely enhanced nonlinear optical(NLO)properties through Z-scan studies at lower input energies demonstrate that this GO-imi-Por nanohybrid exhibits a more effective photoinduced energy/electron transfer between the intrahybrid two components and can be flexibly applied as an optical limiter *** covalent edge-functionalization approach provides a new paradigm for constructing various edge-expanding GO nanohybrids with an efficient energy/electron transfer process and improved nonlinear optical effects,which would draw inspiration for engineering more adaptable optoelectronic devices.

Low gas-liquid ratio foam flooding for conventional heavy oil

The recovery of heavy oil by water flooding is 10% lower than that of conventional crude oil, so enhanced oil recovery （EOR） is of great significance for heavy oil. In this paper, foam flooding with a gas-liquid ratio （GLR） of 0.2：1 for the Zhuangxi heavy oil （325 mPa.s at 55 ℃） was performed on cores, sand packs and plate model. In sand pack tests, polymer enhanced foam flooding increased oil recovery by 39.8%, which was 11.4% higher than that for alkali/surfactant/polymer （ASP） flooding under the same conditions. Polymer enhanced foam flooding in plate models shows that the low GLR foam flooding increased oil recovery by about 30%, even when the extended water flooding was finished at 90% water cut. Moreover, it was discovered by microscopy that foam was more stable in heavy oil than in light oil. These results confirm that low GLR foam flooding is a promising technology for displacing conventional heavy oil.

Experimental investigation of nanoparticles precipitation in a rotating packed bed

Precipitation of BaSO4 nanoparticles was studied for the first time in a specially designed rotating packed bed （RPB）, which allowed sampling at different radial positions to provide better insight of the mechanism of precipitation in RPB. Particle size and morphology were characterized by TEM, while the quality of synthesized BaSO4 powders was analyzed by XRD and BET, and compared with those prepared in a stirred-tank reactor. The important role of the inlet region of the RPB in the whole precipitation process was experimentally confirmed, as a significant essence for the design of industrial RPB for the precipitation of sparingly soluble materials. The effects of different operating conditions on particle size were also investigated, showing that particle size decreases with increasing rotational speed and liquid flow rate, due to the enhancement of micromixing in the RPB.

Polyoxometalate-based ionic liquids-promoted CO_2 conversion

Polyoxometalates(POMs) are a class of molecular metal oxides, showing numerous applications in various chemical processes due to their unique acid/base and redox features. By adjusting the tunable molecular structures of the anions and counter cations, plenty of POM-based ionic liquids(POM-based ILs) have been fabricated to be used in various fields, such as catalysis, structural chemistry and material science. As a class of excellent catalysts, POM-based ILs have shown advantages in the emerging field of CO_2 utilization such as CO_2 capture, cycloaddition of CO_2 to epoxides, and reduction of CO_2, owing to the efficient activation of CO_2 by POM anions. This review summarizes recent advances in the catalysis of POM-based ILs, and particularly highlights the areas that are related to CO_2 conversion.
