This study was to determine the effects of dietary emodin(ED)on the intestinal mucosal barrier,nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)pathways,and gut microbial flora in lipopolysaccharide(LPs)-induced ***-four weaned piglets were chosen and 4 treatments were created by randomly distributing piglets into CON,ED,LPs,and ED_LPs *** were done in a 2×2 factorial arrangement and maintained for 21 *** treatment(a basal diet or 300 mg/kg ED)and immunological challenge(LPs or sterile saline)were 2 major *** injections of LPs or sterilized saline were given to piglets on d *** hours after the LPs challenge,all piglets were euthanized for sample collection and *** results showed that piglets of the ED_LPs group had higher(Ps height to crypt depth ratio(VCR),and lower(Psma D-lactate and diamine oxidase(DAO)than the LPs ***,ED inhibited(Pse of glutathione peroxidase(GsH-Px)and catalase(CAT)activities and increase of malonaldehyde level(Psa induced by *** mRNA levels of pro-inflammatory cytokine genes(IL-6,IL-1β,and TNF-a)were significantly reduced(Ps of antioxidant enzyme genes(GPX-1,sOD2 and CAT),as well as protein and mRNA levels of tight junction proteins(occludin,claudin-1,and ZO-1),were also significantly increased(Ps-induced ***,ED supplementation significantly decreased the LPs-induced protein levels of cyclooxygenase-2 and phosphorylation levels of NF-κB p65and IκBa in jejunal *** had a significant effect on the composition of gut microbial flora at various taxonomic positions as indicated by 16s RNA *** acetic acid,isobutyric acid,valeric acid,and isovaleric acid concentrations in the cecum were also increased by ED addition in pigs(Psis revealed that some intestinal microbiota had a potential relationship with jejunal

Two new 1,3-dithiole derivatives, 4,4＇-{9-[4,5-bis（methylthio）-1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene]-9H-fluorene-2,7- diyl} dipyridine（2a） and 3,3＇-{9-[4,5-bis（methylthio）-1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene]-9H-fluorene-2,7-diyl} dipyridine（2b） were synthesized and characterized by Fourier transform infrared（FTIR）, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectroscopies. The crystal structure of compound 2b was also studied. The optimized conformations and molecular orbital diagrams of compounds 2a and 2b were illustrated via density functional theory（DFT）. By the time-dependent DFT（TD-DFT） method, electronic absorption spectra of compounds 2a and 2b were predicted and the results achieved were in good agreement with the experimental data. The formation of the cationic radical during the electrochemical oxidation process was also proposed.

In this study, Pearl oyster mantle type V collagen(POMC) and tilapia scale type I collagen(TsC) were extracted and hydrolyzed by various proteases in order to obtain peptides. The antioxidant activity of the peptides was investigated by DPPH, hydroxyl radical scavenging experiments and a dynamic digestion model in vitro. The results show that there are significant differences in amino acid composition between POMC and TsC. The collagen peptides obtained from pearl oyster mantle(POMCP) by treating with alkaline protease exhibited higher antioxidant activity than that from tilapia scale(TsCP) treated with papaya protease, and both of them showed greater DPPH and hydroxyl radical scavenging activity than other peptides. After being separated via sephadex G-25 chromatography, the M1 fraction isolated from POMCP, and the s1 fraction from TsCP with which both had higher molecular weights showed the strongest antioxidant activity than other fractions, and the M1 fraction exhibited stronger antioxidant activity than the s1 fraction in scavenging free-radicals and protecting cells from the oxidation damage. Furthermore, after treating the dynamic digestion system model in vitro, the DPPH and hydroxyl radical scavenging activity of the M1 fraction increased slightly. These results suggest that POMCP exhibits stronger antioxidant activity than TsCP, which means that PMOP may be a good candidate to be a potential natural antioxidant in the food-processing industry.

solar thermal desalination(sTD)is a promising and sustainable technology for extracting clean water *** recent studies to improve sTD performance primarily focus on interfacial solar evaporation,a non-traditional bottom heating method was designed in this ***,we prepared the polyvinyl alcohol/graphene oxide(PVA-GO)composite membrane and adhered to the bottom of a beaker using crystallized *** GO was loaded on a non-woven fabric and different concentrations of PVA were compared for their effect on the evaporation *** results showed that the addition of PVA increased the evaporation *** surface characteristic of GO membrane without PVA was a fibrous filamentous structure as observed by sEM,whereby the fibers were clearly *** the PVA concentration reached 6%,the non-woven fiber was completely wrapped by *** the action of a fixed light intensity,the photothermal conversion rates of GO,2%PVA-GO,4%PVA-GO and 6%PVA-GO membrane device could reach 39.93%,42.61%,45.10%and 47.00%,respectively,and the evaporation rates were 0.83,0.88,0.94 and 0.98 kg$m-2$h-1,*** addition,the PVA-GO composite membrane showed an excellent stability,which has significance for industrial application.

The emerging siP2with large capacity and suitable plateau is proposed to be the alternative anode for Li-ion ***,typical siP2still suffers from serious volume expansion and structural destruction,resulting in much Li-consumption and capacity ***,a novel stretchable and conductive Li-PAA@PEDOT:Pss binder is rationally designed to improve the cyclability and reversibility of ***,such Li-PAA@PEDOT:Pss hydrogel enables a better accommodation of volume expansion than PVDF binder(e.g.5.94% vs.68.73% of expansivity).More specially,the siP2electrode with LiPAA@PEDOT:Pss binder is surprisingly found to enable unexpected structural recombination and selfhealing Li-storage processes,endowing itself with a high initial Coulombic efficiency(ICE) up to 93.8%,much higher than PVDF binder(ICE=70.7%) as *** unusual phenomena are investigated in detail for Li-PAA@PEDOT:Pss,and the possible mechanism shows that its Li-PAA component enables to prevent the pulverization of siP2nanoparticles while the PEDOT:Pss greatly bridges fast electronic connection for the whole ***,after being further composited with carbon matrix,the siP2/C with LiPAA@PEDOT:Pss hydrogel exhibits high reversibility(ICE> 93%),superior cyclability(>450 cycles),and rate capability(1520 mAh/g at 2000 mA/g) for *** highly stretchable and conductive binder design can be easily extended to other alloying materials toward advanced energy storage.
