Construction of 3D porous Cu_(1.81)S/nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks for ultrafast and long-cycle life sodium-ion storage

Transition metal sulfides have great potential as anode mterials for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)due to their high theoretical specific ***,the inferior intrinsic conductivity and large volume variation during sodiation-desodiation processes seriously affect its high-rate and long-cyde performance,unbeneficial for the application as fast-charging and long-cycling SIBs ***,the three-dimensional porous Cu_(1.81)S/nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks(Cu_(1.81)S/NC)are synthesized by the simple and facile sol-gel and annealing processes,which can accommodate the volumetric expansion of Cu_(1.81)S nanoparticles and accelerate the transmission of ions and electrons during Na^(+)insertion/extraction processes,exhibiting the excellent rate capability(250.6 mA·g^(-1)at 20.0 A·g^(-1))and outstanding cycling stability(70% capacity retention for 6000 cycles at 10.0 A·g^(-1))for ***,the Na-ion full cells coupled with Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)/C cathode also demonstrate the satisfactory reversible specific capacity of 330.5 mAh·g^(-1)at 5.0 A·g^(-1)and long-cycle performance with the 86.9% capacity retention at 2.0 A·g^(-1)after 750 *** work proposes a promising way for the conversionbased metal sulfides for the applications as fast-charging sodium-ion battery anode.

Large Third-Order Optical Nonlinearity of Cadmium Sulphide Nanoparticles Embedded in Polymer Thin Films

A simple method for synthesis of well dispersed cadmium sulphide nanoparticles embedded in a polyethylene glycol matrix （PEG 400） in thin film form is presented. The large blue shift of the band gap energy of the CdS nanoparticles compared to the bulk semiconductors is observed via UV-vis absorption spectra. Photoluminescence spectra of CdS nanocomposite films show that the emission peaks shift towards the longer wavelength with the increase of annealing temperature. Transmission electron microscopic images as well as Raman scattering studies confirm the CdS nanometer size particle formation within the polymer matrix. The particle size is about 8 nm. Selected area electron diffraction （SAED） shows the cubic zinc blende polycrystalline rings. Third-order optical nonlinearity of the CdS nanopartieles embedded in polymer thin films is studied with the Z-scan technique under 1064 nm excitation. The results show that the CdS nanocomposite film exhibits negative nonlinear refraction index and positive absorption coefficient. The film shows large optical nonlinearity, and the magnitude of the third-order nonlinear susceptibility of the film is calculated to be 1.73 × 10^-9 esu. The corresponding mechanism is discussed.

A 3D infinitely extended structural rare earth coordination compound with a formula of K3{[Sm(H2O)7]2Na[a-SiW11O39Sm(H2O)4]2}·14H2O has been synthesized by reaction of Sm2O3,HClO4,NaOH with a-K8SiW11O39·nH2O,and characterized by IR,UV spectra,ICP,TG-DTA,cyclic voltammetry,variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility and X-ray single-crystal diffrac-tion.X-ray single-crystal diffraction indicates that the title compound crystallizes in a triclinic lat-tice,Pi space group,with a = 1.2462(3) nm,b = 1.2652(3) nm,c = 1.8420(4) nm,α = 87.45(3)°,β = 79.91(3)°,γ = 82.57(3)°,Z = 1,R1 = 0.0778,wR2 = *** analysis reveals that Sm3+(1) coordination cation has incorporated into the vacant site of [α-SiW11O39]8? entity,forming the [α-SiW11O39Sm(H2O)4]5? *** two adjacent [a-SiW11O39Sm(H2O)4]5? subunits are combined with each other through two Sm(1)-O-W bridges accompanying the formation of dim-mer structural unit [α-SiW11O39Sm(H2O)4]210? of the title *** neighboring dimmer structural units [α-SiW11O39Sm(H2O)4]210? are linked to form the 1D chainlike structure by means of two Sm3+(2) and a Na+(1) coordination *** K+(1) cations connect the 1D packing chains constructing the 2D netlike structure,and adjacent netlike layers are also grafted by K+(2) cations to build the novel 3D infinitely extended *** result of TG-DTA curves manifests that the decomposition temperature of the title polyanionic framework is 554℃.The cyclic volt-ammetry measurements show that the title polyanion has the two-step redox processes in aqueous solution with pH = *** temperature magnetic susceptibility indicates the title compound obeys the Cruie-Weiss Law in the higher temperature range from 110 to 300 K,while in the lower temperature range from 2 to 110 K the comparatively strong antiferromagnetism in-teractions can be observed.

Studies on Fragmentation Pathways of N-Ethoxy(phenyl) phosphoryl Amino Acids by Electrospray Ionization Tandem Mass Spectrometry

The positive and negative ESI-MS/MS spectra of N-ethoxy（phenyl） phosphoryl amino acids（EPP-AA） were investigated by electrospray ionization（ESI） ion trap mass spectrometry. The fragmentation pathways of [ M ＋ Na]^＋ and [ M - H]^- ions are proposed and rationalized. The observation may have some potential applications in the interpretation of the MS/MS spectra of novel N-phosphoryl compounds. The complexity of MS/MS spectra of EPP-AA [ M ＋ Na]^＋ ions is decreased compared with that of N-dialkyloxyphosphoryl amino acid. Therefore, the new phosphonamidate method may be considered one of the superior methods that can be used in sequencing peptides and proteins extensively.

Hydrothermal Synthesis,Crystal Structure and Fluorescence Spectrum Studies of a Supramolecular Compound {[2-(2-Pyridyl)benzimidazoleH_2]^(2+)·[SbCl_5]^(2-)}_2

A new supramolecular compound, { [2-（2-pyridyl）benzimidazoleH2]2＋.[SBC15]2-}2, was synthesized by the hydrothermal reaction of o-diaminobenzene, 2-pyridinecarboxylie acid and SbCl3 in 1：1 HC1 solution, and characterized by chemical analysis, elemental analysis, IR spectra, thermogravimetfic analysis and fluorescence spectra. The crystal structure was deter- mined by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The crystal belongs to the monoclinic system, space group P211c, with a = 16.0397（13）, b = 14.3189（12）, c = 15.6370（13） A, β = 105.8980（10）°, V = 3454.0（5） A3, Z = 4, C24H22Cl10N6Sb2, Mr = 992.48, Dc = 1.909 g/cm3,/z = 2.366 mm-1, S = 1.010, F（000） = 1920, R = 0.0254 and wR = 0.0555. The coordination anion, [SbCl5]2- which is a distorted tetragonal pyramid, is composed by coordinating action with Sb3＋ ion and five adjacent chloride ions. Every four coordination anions of [SbCl5]2- form a biquaternion ring structure through the secondary bonding of Sb...Cl. Moreover, the compound adopts a three-dimensional network supramolecular structure because of the hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking between the rings and the 2-（2-pyridyl）benzimidazole divalent cations. The title compound also shows good fluorescent behaviors.

Combination of Lindqvist-type Tungstovanadates and Transition Metal Clusters under Hydrothermal Conditions

Two novel organic-inorganic heteropolyoxometalate compounds [{Cu（1,10-phen）OH}2]2[V2WaO199]·6H2O （1） and [Co（1,10-phen）3]2[V2WaO19]·5H2O （2）（1,10-phen = 1,10-phenanthroline） were hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 contains a di-V substituted classical Lindqvist-type polyanion [V2W4O19]^4-, two dinuclear copper cations [ {Cu（1,10-phen）OH} 2]^2＋ and six water molecules of crystallization. Two dinuclear copper cations [{Cu（1,10-phen）OH}2]^2＋ con-sist of four transition metal coordination cations {Cu（1,10-phen）}^2＋, bridged by four hydroxyl groups. Meanwhile, both two dinuclear cations are grafted on the Lindqvist polyanion [V2W4O19]^4- through two terminal oxygen （0（9）） and two μ2-0xygen （O（6）） atoms. Such an unusual linking fashion is unique in the polyoxometalate chemistry. The basic framework of 2 is similar to that of 1 and contains one Lindqvist-type polyanion [V2W4O19]^4-, two six-coordinated cobalt cations [Co（1, 10-phen）3]^2＋ and five free water molecules.

Preparation,Characterization and Crystal Structure Determination of a Nickel Complex [Ni(ftsc)_2NO_3]NO_3(Hftsc=Furan-2-carbaldehyde Thiosemicarbazone)

A new Ni（II） complex, [Ni（ftsc）2NO3]NO3 （Hftsc = furan-2-carbaldehyde thiosemicarbazone）, has been synthesized and characterized by IR, UV spectra and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. It crystalfizes in a monoclinic system, space group P2 1/n, with a = 10.5203（13）, b = 9.2094（11）, c = 20.829（3）A,β = 91.518（2）°, V= 2 017.3（5）A^3, Z = 4, F（000） = 1064, Dc = 1.716 g/cm^3, and wR = 0.0800. The complex contains a six-coordinated nickel（II） center which is bound to two imine nitrogen atoms and two thiolato sulfur atoms of two ligands as well as two oxygen atoms from a nitrate anion to assume a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. In addition, intermolecular N-H…O and C-H…O hydrogen bonds between adjacent molecules link the molecules together to form a three-dimensional structure.

One dimensional CeO_(2) nanorods/poly(ethylene oxide) solid composite electrolyte for all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries

The research of poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)-based solid composite electrolyte with high ionic conductivity and excellent interfacial stability is the key to the development of all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries(ASSLIBs). Herein, uniform nanorod structured CeO_(2) fillers were controllably synthesized by electrospinning, which were subsequently filled into PEO polymer to prepare CeO_(2)/PEO solid composite electrolyte. The addition of CeO_(2) nanorods can reduce both the glass transition temperature and the melting point of PEO polymer, and also interact with PEO and lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulphonyl)imide(LITFSI) by Lewis acid—base reaction. Therefore, the solid composite electrolyte exhibits a high ionic conductivity of 4.52 × 10^(-4)S/cm, a wide electrochemical stability window of about 4.8 V, and a good interfacial stability with Li at 55℃. Moreover, the LiFePO_4/Li ASSLIB divulges the discharging specific capacity of 165, 162, 156 and 146 mA,h/g at 0.2, 0.5, 1 and 2 C, respectively, and achieves the capacity retention of 90.3% after 150 cycles at 0.5 C. Consequently, one dimensional CeO_(2) nanorods can be considered as an alternative filler for polymeric solid electrolyte.

Synthesis, Characterization and Crystal Structure Determination of a Thiocyanato Bridged One-dimensional Polymeric Complex of Cadmium(Ⅱ)

A new one-dimensional polymeric complex [Cd（SCN）2（H2O）]L （L = N,N′-bis（furan- 2-ylmethylene）hydrazine） has been synthesized and characterized by IR, UV spectra, TG-DTA technique and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. It crystallizes in triclinic, pace group P1^- with a = 5.9268（8）, b = 10.8678（15）, c = 13.3671（19） A, α = 109.295（2）, β = 95.092（2）, γ = 97.8580（10）°, V = 796.70（19）A^3, Z = 2, C12H10CdN4O3S2, Mr = 434.76, μ = 1.648 mm^-1, Dc = 1.812 g/cm^3, F（000） = 428, R = 0.0308 and wR = 0.0769. The crystal structure reveals that the structure of [Cd（SCN）2（H2O）]n features di-μ-1,3-thiocyante bridges and 1D chains. The octahedrally coordinated Cd atom is surrounded by one oxygen atom from water molecule, three S atoms and two N atoms from five di-μ-1,3 thiocyanato bridges. The Cd atoms are connected by two di-μ-1,3 thiocyanato bridges with the Cd（1）…Cd（1A） separation of 4.239（1） A and Cd（1）...Cd（1B） of 5.852（1）/~. In addition, the one-dimensional straight chain structure is further connected by multiform intermolecular N-H…O hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions to form a three-dimensional supramolecular structure.

Impacts of multiple laser shock processing on microstructure and mechanical property of high-carbon steel

Multiple laser shock processing （LSP） impacts on microstructures and mechanical properties were investigated through morphological determinations and hardness testing. Microscopic results show that without equal channel angular pressing （ECAP）, the LSP-treated lamellar pearlite was transferred to irregular ferrite matrix and incompletely broken cementite particles. With ECAP, LSP leads to refinements of the equiaxed ferrite grain in ultrafine-grained microduplex structure from 400 to 150 nm, and the completely spheroidized cementite particles from 150 to 100 nm. Consequentially, enhancements of mechanical properties were found in strength, microhardness and elongations of samples consisting of lamellar pearlite and ultrafine-grained microduplex structure. After LSP, a mixture of quasi-cleavage and ductile fracture was formed, different from the typical quasi-cleavage fracture from the original lamellar pearlite and the ductile fracture of the microduplex structure.
