The development of supramolecular hosts which can efficiently encapsulate photosensitizers to improve the photodynamic efficacy holds great promise for cancer ***,we report two perylene diimide-based metallacages that can form stable host–guest complexes with planar conjugated molecules including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and photosensitizers(hypocrellin A).Such host–guest complexation not only prevents the aggregation of photosensitizers in aqueous environments,but also offers fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET)from the metallacage to the photosensitizers to further improve the singlet oxygen generation(Φ_(Δ)=0.66).The complexes are further assembled with amphiphilic polymers,forming nanoparticles with improved stability for anticancer *** in vitro and in vivo studies indicate that the nanoparticles display excellent anticancer activities upon light irradiation,showing great potential for cancer photodynamic *** study provides a straightforward and effective approach for enhancing the photosensitivity of conventional photosensitizers via host–guest complexation-based FRET,which will open a new avenue for host–guest chemistry-based supramolecular theranostics.

Polycrystalline diamond compact(PDC)bit is one of the most widely used drill bits for improving the rate of penetration in deep oil and gas well and geothermal ***,the dynamic rock fragmentation mechanics characteristics of PDC bits are still unclearly.A coupled fragmentation mechanics model of PDC cutter-rock interaction is established by combining the mixed fragmentation modes with dynamic *** coupling influence laws of cutter angle,cutting depth,dynamic strength ratio,breaking modes on the horizontal force coefficient(HFC),vertical force coefficient(VFC)and specific energy are *** model of this paper can optimize cutter inclination angle,cutting depth and minimum specific *** the increase of the cutter inclination angle,the dynamic VFC changes into two *** definition of the dynamic modes depends on the dynamic strength *** the cutting angle increases,the cutting force *** cutting force increases nonlinearly with increasing cutting *** specific energy of rock fragmentation increases nonlinearly with increasing cutting *** the increase of dynamic strength,the specific energy of rock fragmentation increases *** the input-energy increases,the rate of penetration response is divided into three *** results have important guiding significance for the PDC bit design and drilling parameters optimization to increase the rate of penetration and the efficiency of exploration and development.

Theoretical study on phase conjugation in weakly injected vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers

This paper gives a detailed theoretical investigation on phase conjugation induced by nearly degenerate fourwave mixing in single mode vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers （VCSELs） with weak optical injection. Considering VCSELs that can work in linearly polarized or elliptically polarized states, it derives the theoretical expression of the conjugated field by small signal analysis based on the vectoral rate equations-the spin-flip model. For linearly polarized state, VCSELs show similar conjugate spectra to edge-emitting semiconductor lasers. For the elliptically polarized state, dichroism and birefringence parameters as well as the spin-flip rate can change the conjugate spectra. Especially, when frequency detuning of the probe and pump waves is between the positive and negative relaxation oscillation frequency, changes are evident. For specific values of parameters, conjugate efficiency between 20 dB to 40 dB are obtained.

High-voltage storage capacitors(hereinafter call capacitors for short)have been widely used in pulsed power *** accordance with the actual work conditions of capacitors,direct current partial discharge(DCPD)detection was put *** whole test system was based on the impedance balance circuit characterized by good configuration and anti-interference *** DCPD detection on capacitors which contained four typical defects respectively,test results revealed that DCPD signals could well reflect the state of capacitor *** distribution spectra of capacitors containing four typical defects were obviously *** in capacitors could be exactly judged by computer–aided pattern recognition based on support vector machine(SVM).

Symmetry,cusp bifurcation and chaos of an impact oscillator between two rigid sides

Both the symmetric period n-2 motion and asymmetric one of a one-degree- of-freedom impact oscillator are considered. The theory of bifurcations of the fixed point is applied to such model, and it is proved that the symmetric periodic motion has only pitchfork bifurcation by the analysis of the symmetry of the Poincar6 map. The numerical simulation shows that one symmetric periodic orbit could bifurcate into two antisymmet- ric ones via pitchfork bifurcation. While the control parameter changes continuously, the two antisymmetric periodic orbits will give birth to two synchronous antisymmetric period-doubling sequences, and bring about two antisymmetric chaotic attractors subse- quently. If the symmetric system is transformed into asymmetric one, bifurcations of the asymmetric period n-2 motion can be described by a two-parameter unfolding of cusp, and the pitchfork changes into one unbifurcated branch and one fold branch.

Mode hopping and polarization switching of mutually coupled vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers

We perform a theoretical study on the polarization-resolved compound lasing mode （CLM） of two mutually coupled vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers （VCSELs）. Different solutions of CLMs are derived though stability analysis of the spin-flip model. The dynamical evolvements of CLMs with the existence of polarization degrees of freedom are also charactered. The most stable CLM with the smallest carrier density tend to be excited, since the gain needed for this mode to emit is the lowest. In the given system, varying values of injection rate or birefringence, etc., will change the generation of the preferred CLMs in the two polarization directions, and thus influence the polarization switching （PS） characteristics. Thus, hoppings between CLMs are also companied by PSs. Through mapping of average power in the parameter space, the influences of coupling rate and anisotropy parameters （linear dichroism and linear birefringence） on PS and hopping between CLMs are discussed.

Bifurcation\instability forms of high speed railway vehicles

The China high speed railway vehicles of type CRH2 and type CRH3, modeled on Japanese high speed Electric Multiple Units (EMU) E2 series and Euro high speed EMU ICE3 series possess different stability behaviors due to the different matching re-lations between bogie parameters and wheel profiles. It is known from the field tests and roller rig tests that, the former has a higher critical speed while large limit cycle oscillation appears if instability occurs, and the latter has lower critical speed while small limit cycle appears if instability occurs. The dynamic model of the vehicle system including a semi-carbody and a bogie is established in this paper. The bifurcation diagrams of the two types of high speed vehicles are extensively studied. By using the method of normal form of Hopf bifurcation, it is found that the subcritical and supercritical bifurcations exist in the two types of vehicle systems. The influence of parameter variation on the exported function Rec1(0) in Hopf normal form is studied and numerical shooting method is also used for mutual verification. Furthermore, the bifurcation situation, subcritical or supercritical, is also discussed. The study shows that the sign of Re(λ) determinates the stability of linear system, and the sign of Rec1(0) determines the property of Hopf bifurcation with Rec1(0)>0 for supercritical and Rec1(0)<0 for subcritical.

Influence factors on the seismic behavior and deformation modes of gravity retaining walls

This study investigated the influence factors on the seismic response and deformation modes of retaining walls using large-scale model shaking table tests. Experimental results showed that the distribution of peak seismic earth pressures along the height of a wall was a single peak value curve. The seismic earth pressures on a gravel soil retaining wall were larger than the pressures on the weathered granite and quartz retaining walls. Also, the peak seismic earth pressure increased with increases in the peak ground acceleration and the wall height. The measured seismic active earth pressures on a rock foundation retaining wall were larger than the calculated values, and the action position of resultant seismic pressure was higher than 0.33 H. In the soil foundation retaining wall, the measured seismic earth pressures were much smaller than the calculated values, while the action position was slightly higher than 0.33 H. The soil foundation retaining wall suffered base sliding and overturning under earthquake conditions, while overturning was the main failure mode for the rock foundation retaining walls.
