Gas flooding such as CO2 flooding may be effectively applied to ultra-low permeability reservoirs, but gas channeling is inevitable due to low viscosity and high mobility of gas and formation heterogeneity. In order to mitigate or prevent gas channeling, ethylenediamine is chosen for permeability profile control. The reaction mechanism of ethylenediamine with CO2, injection performance, swept volume, and enhanced oil recovery were systematically evaluated. The reaction product of ethylenediamine and CO2 was a white solid or a light yellow viscous liquid, which would mitigate or prevent gas channeling. Also, ethylenediamine could be easily injected into ultra-low permeability cores at high temperature with protective ethanol slugs. The core was swept by injection of 0.3 PV ethylenediamine. Oil displacement tests performed on heterogeneous models with closed fractures, oil recovery was significantly enhanced with injection of ethylenediamine. Experimental results showed that using ethylenediamine to plug high permeability layers would provide a new research idea for the gas injection in fractured, heterogeneous and ultra-low permeability reservoirs. This technology has the potential to be widely applied in oilfields.

Aqueous rechargeable Zn//MnO_(2)batteries show promising prospects for grid-scale energy storage due to their intrinsic safety,abundant resource,and potential high ***,the real capability of these devices is far from satisfactory thanks to the low capacity and sluggish kinetics of the MnO_(2)***,we report a dual cation doping strategy by synthesis of MnO_(2)in the presence of Ti_(3)_(2)X MXenes and Ni^(2+)ions to essentially address these *** a process contributes to a Ti,Ni co-dopedα-MnO_(2)anchored on *** Ti^(3+)ions incorporated in the framework allow a partial multivalent variation for a large capacity while the Ni^(2+)ions promote the H^(+)transfer within the MnO_(2)matrix via the Grotthuss proton transport *** a result,the optimal dual cation doped MnO_(2)exhibits a large reversible capacity of 378 mAh·g-1 at 0.1 C and a high rate ***,capacity retention as high as 92%is observed after cycling at 4 C for 1000 times,far superior to many of the previously reported *** facile strategy demonstrated here may shed new insight into the rational design of electrodes based on high-performance Zn//MnO_(2)batteries.

In this work,a flowing material balance equation(FMBE) is established for under saturated coalbed methane(CBM) reservoirs,which considers immobile free gas expansion effect at the dewatering *** on the established FMBE,five straight-line methods are proposed to determine the control area,initial water reserve,initial free gas reserve,initial adsorbed gas reserve,original gas in place,as well as permeability at the same ***,the proposed FMBE methods for undersaturated CBM reservoirs are validated against a reservoir simulation software with and without considering free gas ***,the proposed methods are applied in a field case when considering free gas expansion *** cases show that the straight-line relationships for the proposed five FMBE methods are excellent,and good agreements are obtained among the actual reserves and permeabilities and those evaluated by the proposed five FMBE methods,indicating the proposed five FMBE methods are effective and rational for CBM *** show that a small amount of free gas will result in a great deviation in reserve evaluation;hence,the immobile free gas expansion effect should be considered when establishing the material balance equation of undersaturated CBM reservoirs at the dewatering stage.

The process of a single-tooth cutting formation is taken as the representative to analyze the fracture mechanism of the formation with natural flaws under the PDC drill *** modeling of the stress field distribution of the formation under a single tooth is proposed ***,the modeling of the stress intensity factor K,T-stress and the initiation angleθof the flaw under two far-field compressive loads in two cases are presented based on the mode-II ***,the results of theoretical calculations and simulations are given and *** on the analysis undertaken,it can be concluded that the confinement ratioλapplying on the flaw changes nonlinearly with the variation inα+φ.The relationship between the dimensionless ratioβx/βy of T-stress and the rotational polar angleφis a parabola with an upward *** the direction of the cutting force is consistent with the flaw,the stress intensity factor K and the initiation angleθat the tip of the flaw reach the *** addition,the angle between the cutting force and the flaw weakens the T-stress and inhibits the crack initiation and propagation of the *** results of numerical simulations show good agreement with theoretical calculations.
