Multidimensional regulation of Ti-Zr-Cr-Mn hydrogen storage alloys via Y partial substitution

High density and safe storage of hydrogen are the preconditions for the large-scale application of hydrogen ***,the hydrogen storage properties of Ti_(0.6)Zr_(0.4)Cr_(0.6)Mn_(1.4) alloys are systematically studied by introducing Y element instead of Ti element through vacuum arc *** the partial substitution of Y,a second phase of rare earth oxide is added in addition to the main suction hydrogen phase,C14 Laves *** to the unique properties of rare earth elements,the partial substitution of Y can not only improve the activation properties and plateau pressure of the alloys,but also increase the effective hydrogen storage capacity of the *** comprehensive properties of hydrogen storage alloys are improved by multidimensional regulation of rare earth *** them,Ti_(0.552)Y_(0.048)Zr_(0.4)Cr_(0.6)Mn_(1.4) has the best comprehensive *** alloy can absorb hydrogen without activation at room temperature and 5 MPa,with a maximum hydrogen storage capacity of 1.98 wt.%.At the same time,it reduces the stability of the hydride and the enthalpy change value,making it easier to release *** theoretical analysis and first-principle simulation,the results show that the substitution of Y element reduces the migration energy barrier of hydrogen and the structural stability of the system,which is conducive to hydrogen *** alloy has superior durability compared to the original alloy,and the capacity retention rate was 96.79%after 100 hydrogen absorption/desorption cycles.

pH-sensitive KHA/CMC-Fe^(3+)@CS hydrogel loading and the drug release properties of riboflavin

To improve drug utilization,reduce the drug administration frequency,increase the release time,and reduce the drug side effects in the human body,we prepared(KHA/CMC-Fe^(3+))@CS hydrogel spheres using green and natural potassium humate(KHA),carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC),and chitosan(CS)as raw materials and Fe3+as a crosslinking agent,and loaded them with riboflavin for drug sustainedrelease study using the drop ball *** tests with FTIR,SEM,TG,and X-ray diffractometer showed that the coordination among KHA,CMC,and Fe^(3+)formed a three-dimensional network structure,where cs was encapsulated on the surface of the hydrogel spheres via noncovalent bonding,resulting in good thermal *** stability,drug loading,swelling,and in vitro release of the(KHA/CMC-Fe^(3+))@CS hydrogel spheres were *** results showed that the hydrogel spheres were significantly pH-sensitive,with 11.16 g/g higher swelling in an alkaline environment(pH=7.4)than that in an acidic environment(pH=1.2).The swelling and drug release process of the hydrogel spheres were analyzed using mathematical models,concluding that the hydrogel swelling follows Schott second-order swelling kinetics,and the drug release mechanism was Fickian delivery mode.

Wooden buildings play a very important role in china’s construction and landscape architecture *** order to explore the weathering characteristics of the surface layer of landscape wooden buildings,the main causes of weathering were analyzed on the basis of summarizing the common types of weathering *** results showed that the weathering characterization was mainly reflected in the surface defects of wood structures,such as cracking,discoloration,peeling,wind erosion wear,and so *** coating technology on the surface of constructions was the main artificial factor affecting the surface defects of *** the case of similar surface decoration conditions,sunlight and moisture were the main natural factors affecting the weathering of wooden buildings,which will promote the process of weathering.

Characterization of a novel Bacillus methylotrophicus phage BM-P1

Bacillus species have been widely used as probiotics in a number of food ***,these are vulnerable to bacteriophage infections,which poses fermentation failure and eventually result in economic *** this,we designed this study in which the bacteriophage of lysogenic Bacillus methylotrophicus,phage BM-P1,was induced successfully,and its biological characteristics and genome information were *** obtained results showed that phage BM-P1 belonged to Myoviridae *** maximum number of infections for this phage was 10,with a burst size of 104.48±2.70 counts expressed per milliter per infective ***,this phage was temperature-and pH-sensitive and divalent ions(Ca2+,Mg2+)and chloramphenicol did not have a significant influence on its adsorption *** analysis revealed that the genome size of phage BM-P1 was 153087 bp with 41.94%GC content,including 258 coding ***,52 bac-teriophages of Bacillus were classified into two clades by using phylogenetic *** them,phage BM-P1 with phage VB_BsuM-Goe3 and vB_BveM-Goe7 had the highest average nucleotide identity values,95.23%and 95.28%,***,synteny analysis revealed transposition,deletion,and insertion in the genome of *** this,it could be extrapolated that this phage is a new lysogenic *** conclusion,this study furthers the knowledge on the properties of *** phages and provides seminal insights for designingeffective antiphage strategiesforfermentation industry.

Schisandrin B exerts anticancer effects on human gastric cancer cells through ROS-mediated MAPK,STAT3,and NF-κB pathways

Schisandrin B(Sch B)is a monomer with anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory effects,which are isolated from the plant Schisandra chinensis(Turcz)*** investigated the anti-gastric cancer(GC)effects of Sch B and its underlying molecular *** Cell Counting Kit-8 assay was used to determine the effects of Sch B on the viability of GC and normal cell ***/propidium iodide staining and flow cytometry were used to assess the apoptosis induction of Sch *** blotting was used to evaluate the effects of Sch B on downstream apoptotic *** DCFH-DA fluorescent probe was used to assess the regulatory effects of Sch B on reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels and related signaling pathways in GC *** results showed that Sch B could regulate the phosphorylation level of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)by upregulating ROS accumulation in gastric cancer cells,and then reduce the expression of nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB)and phosphorylated transcription 3(p-STAT3).In addition,Sch B downregulated the cell cycle proteins cyclin-dependent kinase 2/4/6 and cyclin D1/E,and arrested cells in the G0/G1 ***,it also inhibited cell migration,which was reversed with Nacetylcysteine *** summary,Sch B has killing effects on GC cells by upregulating the production of intracellular ROS and regulating the MAPK/STAT3/NF-κB signaling pathway,leading to the migration arrest and apoptosis of GC cells.

Primary Culture of Bovine Mammary Epithelial Cells

[ Objective] To investigate the feasibility of the primary culture of bovine mammary epithelial cells in biochemical incubator. [ Method] In vitro, bovine mammary epithelial cells were isolated and cultured by the tissue explant method in order to investigate the optimal culture conditions. The morphology observation and identification of the cultured cells were performed by inverted microscope observation, Giemsa staining and cytokeratin immunohistochemistry. [ Result] Observed with inverted microscope, most of the bovine mammary epithelial cells were polygonal and displayed typical slabstone-like appearance. As it can be seen from cell staining results, the cell body was big and the nucleus was stained dark blue and was round or oval in shape, with clearly visible nucleoli, generally 2 -4 nucleoli. The tissue-specific expression of cytokeratin 14 and cytokeratin 18 genes in mammary epithelial cells was identified by cytokeratin immunohistochemistry. [ Conclusion] Primary bovine mammary epithelial cells were successfully cultured in biochemical incubator.

Comparative study of estimation methods for genomic breeding values

Estimation of genomic breeding values is important in genomic selection. Bayesian and BLUP methods are the main techniques employed. In this study,we conducted a comparative study of Bayes A, Bayes B,Bayes Cp and GBLUP methods in simulated data and real data of Chinese Holstein cattle. Results showed that, in simulated data, the accuracies of all methods were all similarly elevated with the increase of reference population size, but they made different responses to the changes of marker number or QTL number. In real data of Chinese Holstein cattle, Bayes A generated the highest accuracy almost for all six traits, and GBLUP performed as well as Bayes A for the traits of milk yield, fat yield and protein yield, while for the trait of fat percentage, protein percentage and somatic cell score, three Bayesian methods showed superior to GBLUP. Comprehensively analyzing above results, it can be speculated that accuracies of the three Bayesian methods are not only influenced by the absolute value of QTL number or marker number, but may also be influenced by the ratio of QTL number to marker number. And there is at least one kind of Bayesian methods performing better than GBLUP, when the ratio of QTL number versus marker number is very small or involving large-effect QTL.

Persulfate-based advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)have obtained increasing attention due to the generation of sulfate radical(SO_(4)-)with high reactivity for organic contaminants degradation,Numerous activation methods have been used to activate two common persulfates:peroxymonosulfate(PMS)and peroxydisulfate(PDS).However,the comparisons of activation methods and two oxidants in the comprehensive degradation performance of the target contaminant are still ***,taking norfloxacin(NOR)as the target contaminant,we proposed five key parameters(the observed pseudo-first-order rate constant,kobs;average mineralization rate,rm;utilization efficiency of catalyst,Ucat;utilization efficiency of oxidant,Uox;and net utilization efficiency of oxidant,Uox')to quantify the comprehensive degradation performance of *** irradiation affected target pollutants,catalysts,and oxidants,leading to an improved degradation performance of *** heterogeneous catalysts were compared in terms of the key elements ***,Co,and Mn-based materials performed better,while carbon-based catalysts performed poorly on NOR *** overall degradation performance of NOR was different for PMS and PDS,which can be ascribed to their varied reaction pathways towards NOR,but stemmed from different properties of PMS and ***,the effect of pH on the degradation efficiency of NOR was investigated.A neutral solution was optimal for PMS system,while an acidic solution worked better for PDS ***,we analyzed the molecule structure of NOR by density functional theory(DFT)calculation to study the sites easy to ***,we summarized four typical degradation pathways of NOR in SO_(4)^(-)-based AOP systems,including defluorination,piperazine ring cleavage,piperazine ring oxidation,and quinoline group transformation.
