Accuracy of optimized Sirius ray-tracing method in intraocular lens power calculation

AIM:To evaluate the accuracy and predictability of ray tracing-assisted intraocular lens(IOL) calculation function in Sirius internal software and further improve the accuracy by optimizing the calculation of predicted lens position(PLP).METHODS:This retrospective study recruited 52 eyes of 49 *** of the cases with cataract had undergone phacoemulsification combined with IOL ***-T,Haigis formula,and Sirius ray-tracing method were all used for each eye’s IOL *** mean absolute value of prediction error(prediction error=predicted refraction-postoperative refraction) was defined as mean absolute prediction error(MAPE) and was determined for each *** of PLP was optimized by effective lens position(ELP).Optimized PLP was entered to Sirius internal software again to verify whether the method was ***:Compared with SRK-T and Haigis formulas,less accuracy was shown in Sirius ray-tracing method(P=0.001).The ELP of the IOL moved forward compared to PLP(P<0.001).The MAPE of the ELP-inputted Sirius ray-tracing method was *** and PLP were well *** ELP as y and PLP given by Sirius soft as x,a linear regression formula y=0.1637 x+3.1741 was concluded(R^(2)=0.1066,P=0.018).It was shown that the optimized Sirius ray-tracing method(optimized PLP entered),compared with SRK-T and Haigis formulas,worked with the same accuracy(P=0.038).CONCLUSION:The original Sirius ray tracing method is not satisfactory ***,in normal eyes,the optimized Sirius ray-tracing method in IOL calculation was as accurate as SRK-T and Haigis formulas.

Impact of High Sodium Diet on Neovascularization and Osseointegration around Titanium Implant:An in Vivo and in Vitro Study

Vitamin D attenuates TGF-β1-induced lung fibroblast proliferation and migration through repression of RasGRP3

Ginsenoside Rb1 induces hepatic stellate cell ferroptosis to alleviate liver fibrosis via the BECN1/SLC7A11 axis

Association between Mean Ocular Perfusion Pressure and Diabetic Retinopathy in a Northeastern Chinese Population

Objective To evaluate the association between diabetic retinopathy(DR) and mean ocular perfusion pressure(MOPP) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2 DM).Methods Patients from the Fushun Diabetic Retinopathy Cohort Study(FS-DIRECT), a communitybased prospective cohort study conducted in northeast China, were included in this study. The presence and severity of DR were determined by grading fundus photographs according to the Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study(ETDRS) retinopathy scale. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure(SBP and DBP) were recorded using an electronic sphygmomanometer. Intraocular pressure(IOP) was measured using an iCare rebound tonometer. MOPP was calculated using the formula MOPP = 2/3 [DBP + 1/3(SBP-DBP)]-*** In total, 1,857 patients who had gradable fundus photography and MOPP data were enrolled in this study. Male patients had a higher MOPP than female patients(52.25 ± 8.75 vs. 50.96 ± 8.74 mmHg, P = 0.002). Overall, both male and female patients with any type of DR, non-proliferative DR(NPDR), or non-sight-threatening DR(non-STDR) had significantly higher MOPP relative to patients without DR. Increased MOPP(per 1 mmHg) was in turn associated with the presence of any type of DR[odds ratio(OR) = 1.03, 95% confidence interval(CI) : 1.02–1.04], NPDR(OR = 1.03 95% CI: 1.02–1.04),and non-STDR(OR = 1.03, 95% CI: 1.01–1.04) after adjusting for confounders. Increased MOPP(per 1 mmHg) was also associated with an increased likelihood of macular edema(OR = 1.02, 95% CI:1.01–1.04).Conclusions The results suggest that increased MOPP was associated with DR and macular edema in northeastern Chinese patients with T2 DM.
