How to Develop into An International Metropolis in the Context of the Silk Road Economic Belt —— A Case Study of xi'an

For xi'an,the central city of the Silk Road Economic Belt,it is both the theoretical and practical problem to develop into an international metropolis,so how to develop into an international metropolis becomes the research focus. This paper firstly introduces the necessity,the current situation and the evaluation index system of the construction of the city xi'an in the context of the Silk Road Economic Belt; then it analyzes the econom ic developm ent of the three old districts,the three new districts,the three suburban districts and the four counties; and finally it puts forward the development path for xi'an in the context of the Silk Road Economic Belt — the development pattern of "five districts,one international harbor area and two bases""nine-grid-pattern "economic development and the function-oriented coordinated development of the regional economy.

The influence of home environmental factors and life style on children's respiratory health in xi'an

To assess associations between home indoor air environments and asthma,allergies and pneumonia,children aged 1–8 years were surveyed from 12 kindergartens in the city of xi’an.2,020 questionnaires were responded with a response rate of 83.5%.The prevalences of doctor diagnosed asthma,hay fever,and pneumonia were 2.9%,3.6%,and 28.3%,*** close to a highway was a risk factor for current rhinitis(AOR 1.5,95%CI 1.2–1.8),eczema(AOR 1.7,95%CI 1.2–2.5),and diagnosed pneumonia(AOR 1.3,95%CI 1.0–1.6).Dampness problems in the home were associated with 50%–130%increases in the prevalences of asthma and *** bed linen under sun-shine was protective,especially against *** avoidance was consistently and significantly associated with asthma and allergy(AOR 1.3–2.4).Decoration of the home during children’s early life is a risk factor for current rhinitis(AOR 1.9,95%CI 1.3–2.9)and eczema(AOR 1.9,95%CI1.1–3.6).Risk factors for pneumonia were living in an apartment(AOR 1.4,95%CI 1.1–1.8),latex wall paint(AOR 1.3,95%CI 1.0–1.7),dampness(AOR 1.4–1.5),breast feeding\3 months(AOR 1.3,95%CI 1.0–1.7),never airing bed linen in sunshine(AOR 1.3,95%CI1.3–1.6),and cleaning children’s room less frequently than once per day(AOR 1.4,95%CI 1.1–1.7).This study demonstrates that home indoor environmental and life style factors may influence the health of children in xi’an.

A study of the accessibility of a city’s scenic spots via different travel modes can contribute to optimization of tourism-related transportation while improving tourists’ travel-related satisfaction levels and advancing tourism. We systematically analyzed the accessibility of 56 scenic spots in xi’an City, China, via car and public transport travel modes using the real-time travel function of the Baidu Maps API(Application Programming Interface) along with spatial analysis methods and the modal accessibility gap index of scenic spots. We obtained the following results. First, maximum and minimum travel times using public transport exceeded those using cars. Moreover, the accessibility of scenic spots via cars and public transport presented a circular spatial pattern of increasing travel time from the center to the periphery. Contrasting with travel by public transport, car travel showed a clear time-space compression effect. Second, accessibility of the scenic spots via cars and public transport showed some spatial heterogeneity, with no clear advantages of car accessibility in the central urban area. However, advantages of car accessibility were increasingly evident moving from the center to the periphery. Third, whereas the correlation of the modal accessibility gap index of scenic spots in xi’an with global space was significantly positive, local spatial interdependence was only evident in some inner city areas and in marginal areas. Moreover, spatial heterogeneity was evident in two regions but was insignificant in other areas, indicating that the spatial interdependence of the modal accessibility gap index in most scenic spots was not apparent in terms of the overall effect of public transport routes, road networks, and the distribution of scenic spots. The improvement of public transport coverage in marginal areas and the optimization of public transport routes in central urban areas are essential tasks for improving travel using public transport in the futur

AIM:To estimate the prevalence of and risk factors for dry eye disease(DED)in young and middle-aged office employee in xi’***:This cross-sectional study of the prevalence of and risk factors for DED investigated 486 young and middle-aged Chinese office employee in xi’*** symptoms and potential risk factors were assessed using the ocular surface disease index combined with a risk factors questionnaire,and tear function was evaluated using the tear film break-up time and Schirmer’s *** risk factors for DED were estimated by binary Logistic regression ***:DED was diagnosed in 100 females and 96 males,giving a prevalence of 40.3%[95%confidence interval(CI)=36.0%-44.7%].The multivariate binary Logistic regression model indicated that the possible risk factors for DED were being female(OR=1.592,95%CI=1.034-2.451,P=0.035),being aged≥40 y(OR=1.593,95%CI=1.034-2.454,P=0.035),using a VDT daily for>6 h(OR=1.990,95%CI=1.334-2.971,P=0.001),the presence of central air conditioning(OR=1.548,95%CI=1.053-2.276,P=0.026),and self-reported dryness of the mouth and nose(OR=1.589,95%CI=1.071-2.357,P=0.021).CONCLUSION:There is a high prevalence of clinically diagnosed DED in young and middle-aged video displayterminal(VDT)*** against the modifiable risk factors should be taken to prevent the occurrence and development of DED in this population.

Cities generate more than 60%of carbon emissions and are the main battleground for achieving the ***,there is no unified and standardized measurement methods of carbon emissions in *** this paper,we took xi’an as an example and started by measuring carbon emissions with the new ***,the decoupling of economic development from carbon emissions was studied according to the Tapio decoupling *** on the generalized Divisia index method,the decoupling effort model was proposed to study the impact of carbon emission factors contributing to carbon *** results show:(i)During the period 1995–2021,the carbon emissions of xi’an increased rapidly,with an average annual growth rate of 6.06%,due to the accelerating pace of urbanization and industrialization.(ii)The energy consumption sector accounted for the largest share of carbon emissions,ranging from 77.38%to 89.46%.xi’an’s energy structure is primarily based on fossil fuels,especially coal,which holds a significant *** achieve the“double carbon”goal,it is crucial to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels.(iii)The 10th Five-Year Plan was in the state of“expansive coupling”,while other periods were in the“weak decoupling”state from the 9th to 14th Five-Year Plan *** the carbon peak year in the 15th Five-Year Plan,it would be in a state of“strong decoupling”.The agricultural production account was the first to achieve a“strong decoupling”state.(iv)The government of xi’an made efforts to decouple,but these were not *** innovation played a crucial role in the carbon reduction of xi’an,and was a key factor in achieving the“double carbon”goal.

Long-term assessment of risk factors for canine tumors registered in xi’an, China

Tumors are one of the leading causes to death in pet dogs among diseases. The tumor incidence of pet dogs has been increasing, raising widespread concern. In this study, retrospective analysis was performed with 246 tumor cases registered in xi’an Animal Hospital, Northwest A&F University from 2009 to 2018. Correlations of sex, age and breed with tumor incidences were evaluated. The results showed that reproductive system tumors occupied the highest proportion (39.84%), followed by cutaneous tumors (28.05%), digestive tumors (18.70%) and ocular tumor (4.47%). Among the reproductive system tumors, breast tumors are the most common tumor in female pet dogs, especially for Pekingese (11.43%). Female dogs with high susceptibility to breast tumors were at the ages of 6–18 years old. As far as cutaneous tumors were concerned, the male pet dogs at all ages, particularly Golden Retrievers (17.39%), showed a high incidence. By contrast, male Samoyed aged from 4 to 13 years had the highest incidence (15.22%) of digestive tumors. In addition, pet dogs with ocular tumors mainly happened at the ages of 0–1 years and 6–13 years. Collectively, our findings are significant to develop effective measures of medical surveillance for pet dogs’ health and will provide insights for comparative oncology.
