The catalytic asymmetric diastereodivergent synthesis of axially chiral 2-alkenylindoles was established via chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed addition reactions of C3-unsubstituted 2-alkenylindoles with o-hydroxybenzyl alcohols under different reaction *** this strategy,two series of 2-alkenylindoles bearing both axial and central chirality were synthesized in a diastereodivergent fashion with moderate to high yields and good stereoselectivities(up to 99%yield,95:5 er,>95:5 dr).Moreover,theoretical calculations were performed on the key transition states leading to different stereoisomers,which provided an in-depth understanding of the origin of the observed stereoselectivity and diastereodivergence of the products under different reaction *** importantly,these 2-alkenylindoles were utilized in asymmetric catalysis as chiral organocatalysts and in medicinal chemistry for evaluation of their cytotoxicity,which demonstrated their potential *** study has not only established the catalytic atroposelective synthesis of axially chiral 2-alkenylindoles,but also provided an efficient strategy for catalytic asymmetric diastereodivergent construction of indole-based scaffolds bearing both axial and central chirality.

Background Postoperative sleep disturbance(PSD)is a common and serious postoperative complication and is associated with poor postoperative *** This study aimed to investigate the effect of transcranial direct current stimulation(tDCS)on PSD in older patients undergoing lower limb major *** In this prospective,double-blind,pilot,randomised,sham-controlled trial,patients 65 years and over undergoing lower limb major arthroplasty were randomly assigned to receive active tDCS(a-tDCS)or sham tDCS(s-tDCS).The primary outcomes were the objective sleep measures on postoperative nights(N)1 and *** 116 inpatients were assessed for eligibility,and a total of 92 patients were enrolled;47 received a-tDCS and 45 received *** improved PSD by altering the following sleep measures in the a-tDCS and s-tDCS groups;the respective comparisons were as follows:the promotion of rapid eye movement(REM)sleep time on N1(64.5(33.5-105.5)vs 19.0(0.0,45.0)min,F=20.10,p<0.001)and N2(75.0(36.0-120.8)vs 30.0(1.3-59.3)min,F=12.55,p<0.001);the total sleep time on N1(506.0(408.0-561.0)vs 392.0(243.0-483.5)min,F=14.13,p<0.001)and N2(488.5(455.5-548.5)vs 346.0(286.5-517.5)min,F=7.36,p=0.007);the deep sleep time on N1(130.0(103.3-177.0)vs 42.5(9.8-100.8)min,F=24.4,p<0.001)and N2(103.5(46.0-154.8)vs 57.5(23.3-106.5)min,F=8.4,p=0.004);and the percentages of light sleep and REM sleep on N1 and N2(p<0.05 for each).The postoperative depression and anxiety scores did not differ significantly between the two *** significant adverse events were *** In older patients undergoing lower limb major arthroplasty,a single session of anodal tDCS over the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex showed a potentially prophylactic effect in improving postoperative short-term objective sleep ***,this benefit was temporary and was not maintained over time.

Frequency tunable continuous variable （CV） entangled optical beams are experimentally demonstrated from a non-degenerate optical parametric oscillator working above the *** measured correlation variances of amplitude and phase quadratures are 3.2 and 1.5 dB,respectively,below the corresponding shot noise level （SNL） in the tuning range of 580 GHz （2.25 nm）.The frequency tuning is realized by simply controlling the temperature of the nonlinear crystal.

We present an ultrastable fiber-based time-domain balanced homodyne detector which can be used for precise characterization of pulsed quantum light fields.A variable optical attenuator based on bending the fiber is utilized to compensate for the different quantum efficiencies of the photodiodes precisely,and a common mode rejection ratio of above 76 dB is *** detector has a gain of 3.2μV per photon and a signal-to-noise ratio above 20 *** pulses with repetition rates up to 2 MHz can be measured with a detection efficiency of 66%.The stability of the detector is analyzed via an Allan variance measurement and the detector exhibits superior stability which enables a 100-s window for measurement without calibration.

We report a fiber-based four-state discrete modulation continuous variable quantum key distribution system based on homodyne detection.A secret key rate of 1 kbit/s is achieved at a transmission distance of 30.2 *** factors that result in the excess noises of the quantum key distribution system are *** first is the relative phase dithering between the signal and local fields,and the second is the local field leakage into the signal field due to the scattering process that depolarizes the local *** is found that the latter has a significant impact on the excess noise,which is the main limiting factor to the long-distance secure quantum *** protocols are also given to decrease the excess noise effectively.

We experimentally investigate the optical cavity tor various coupled regimes wltn an mjectea squeezeo vacuum state. We measure the quantum fluctuation spectra of the reflected field of an optical cavity using the homodyne detection and present the spectral dependence on the absorption and dispersion properties of the cavity in the under-coupled, critically-coupled, and over-coupled regimes. The spectra lineshape is phase sensitive with the phase shift induced by the cavity. Moreover, we find that the over-coupled optical cavity has obvious advantage in the manipulation of quantum fluctuation.

We investigate sympathetic cooling fermions 40K by evaporatively cooling bosonic 87Rb atoms in a magnetic trap with microwave and radio frequency induced evaporations in detail. The mixture of bosonic and fermionic atoms is prepared in their polarized spin states IF = 9/2, mF = 9/2） for 40K and IF = 2, mF=2〉 for 87Rb, which is trapped in Quadrupole-Ioffe-Configuration trap. Comparing microwave with radio frequency evaporatively cooling bosonic STRb atoms with sympathetically cooling Fermi gas 40K, we find that the presence of rubidium atoms in the [2, 1} Zeeman states, which are generated in the evaporative process, gives rise to a significant loss of 40K due to inelastic collisions. Thus, the rubidium atoms populated in the [2, 1} Zeeman states should be removed in order to effectively perform sympathetically cooling 40K with the evaporatively cooled STRb atoms.

Nonclassical optical frequency combs find tremendous utility in quantum information and high-precision quantum measurement. The characteristics of a type-I synchronously pumped optical parametric oscillator with the TEM_（01） transverse mode below threshold are investigated and a squeezing of 0.7 dB for an optical frequency comb squeezed light field with the TEM_（01） transverse mode is obtained under the pump power of 130 m W. This work has a promising application in three-dimensional space-time measurement.
