Adsorption of surfactants onto acrylic ester resins with different pore size distribution

In this study, a series of acrylic ester resins with different pore size distribution were prepared successfully by varying the type and the amount of pore-forming agents. In order to inves-tigate the adsorption behavior and mechanism of surfactants on acrylic ester resins, three kinds of surfactants were utilized as adsorbates that were sodium 6-dodecyl benzenesulfonate (6-NaDBS), sodium 1-dodecyl benzene sulfonate (1-NaDBS) and sodium 1-dodecyl sulfonate, respectively. It was observed that the surface area was available in a particular pore size and an appropriate pore size of resins appeared to be more important for the adsorption of surfactants. As compared to commercial acrylic ester resins XAD-7 and HP2MG, 50# and 38# resins exhibited more excellent adsorption properties toward 1-NaDBS and 6-NaDBS. The experimental equilibrium data were fitted to the Langmuir, and double-Langmuir models. Two models provided very good fittings for all resins over the temperature range studied. The investigation indicated that electrostatic attraction and hydrogen bond between resins and surfactants were the main forces and had an obvious effect on adsorption proc-ess.

In order to enhance light absorption of thin film poly-crystalline silicon(TF poly-Si)solar cells over a broad spectral range, and quantify the effectiveness of nanoshell light trapping structure over the full solar spectrum in theory,the effective photon trapping flux(EPTF)and effective photon trapping efficiency(EPTE)were firstly proposed by considering both the external quantum efficiency of TF poly-Si solar cell and scattering properties of light trapping *** EPTF,EPTE and scattering spectrum exhibit different behaviors depending on the geometric size and density of nanoshells that form the light trapping *** an optimum size and density of SiO2/Au nanoshell light trapping layer,the EPTE could reach up to 40%due to the enhancement of light trapping over a broad spectral range,especially from 500 to 800 nm.

An extended subequation rational expansion method is presented and used to construct some exact,analyt-ical solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional cubic nonlinear Schrdinger *** our results,many known solutionsof the (2+1)-dimensional cubic nonlinear Schrdinger equation can be recovered by means of some suitable selections ofthe arbitrary functions and arbitrary *** computer simulation,the properties of new non-travelling waveand coefficient function's soliton-like solutions,and elliptic solutions are demonstrated by some plots.

Aim:Comparative proteomics provide a powerful approach in screening for alter-ations in protein levels and post-translational modifications that are associatedwith *** the present study,we aimed to identify candidate biomarkers todistinguish osteosarcoma (OS) cells from normal osteoblastic ***:Weemployed 3OS cell lines (U2OS,IOR/OS9,and SaOS-2),and used the SV40-immor-talized normal osteoblastic cell line (hFOB 1.19) as the *** differentialprotein levels in OS and osteoblastic cells were identified using 2-D gel electro-phoresis followed by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flightmass spectrometry *** proteins of interest,the levels of which weresignificantly increased in OS cells,were further characterized by Western ***:Twenty-six proteins were identified,the expression level ofwhich was either significantly increased or decreased in the OS cells as comparedto the control *** expression level of the activator of 90 kDa shock proteinATPase homolog 1 (AHA1),was enhanced 12.4-,24.1-,and 23.8-fold in SaOS-2,IOR/OS9,and U2OS cells,respectively,and the level of the stomatin-like protein 2(SLP-2) was increased by 10.4-and 7.8-fold in IOR/OS9 and U2OS cells,respectively,as compared to normal osteoblastic *** observations were confirmed byWestern blot ***:A differential proteomic analysis was suc-cessfully used to identify AHA 1 and SLP-2 that were significantly overproducedin OS cells as compared to normal osteoblastic cells,suggesting that those pro-teins among others may be effective biomarker candidates for the identification ofOS cells.

By using a simple barrier penetration approach,we predict the α-decay branching ratios to members of ground-state rotational band of heavy even-even No isotopes. We also extend our approach to calculate the α-decay branching ratios to the rotational band of heavy odd-A nuclei. The theoretical branching ratios of α-decays are found in good agreement with the available experimental data.

AIM:To evaluate the efficiency and safety of an optimized CO2 Laser glaucoma surgery system for laser sclerectomy with ***:Rabbit trials were performed to evaluate the efficiency and ***:IOP was significantly decreased in laser group compared with trabeculectomy group(P<0.05) from 7th postoperative day to 60th *** with trabeculectomy group,histopathology studies confirmed fewer complications and better effects were found in laser ***:CO2 laser sclerectomy with iridectomy is effective and safe in terms of IOP lowering.

The Asian-Australian “land bridge” is an area with the most vigorous convection in Asian monsoon region in boreal spring, where the onset and march of convection are well associated with the onset of East Asian summer monsoon. The convection occurs over Indo-China Peninsula as early as mid-April, which exerts critical impact on the evolution of monsoon circulation. Before mid-April there are primarily sensible heatings to the atmosphere over Indo-China Peninsula and Indian Peninsula, so the apparent heating ratios over them decrease with height. However, after mid-April it changes into latent heating over Indo-China Peninsula due to the onset of convection, and the apparent heating ratio increases with height in mid- and lower troposphere. The vertical distribution of heating ratio and its differences between Indo-China Peninsula and Indian Peninsula are the key factors leading to the splitting of boreal subtropical high belt over the Bay of Bengal. Such mechanism is strongly supported by the fact that the evolution of the vertical heating ratio gradient above Indo-China Peninsula leads that of 850 hPa vorticity over the Bay of Bengal. Convections over Indo-China Peninsula and its surrounding areas further increase after the splitting. Since then, there is a positive feedback lying among the convective heating, the eastward retreat of the subtropical high and the march of monsoon, which is a possible mechanism of the advance of summer monsoon and convection from Indo-China Peninsula to South China Sea.

8-Aminoquinoline nickel dichloride and bis(cyclopentadienyl)zirconium dichloride (Cp_2ZrCl_2) were supportedsimultaneously on silica to produce branched polyethylene successfully by combined polymerization. The supportedpolymerization results showed that the molecular weight of polyethylene increased while the molecular weight distributionbecame wider and the molecular chains of oligomers remaning in the final solution became shorter as compared to theoligomers obtained in polymerization processes with pure 8-aminoquinoline nickel dichloride catalysis, as well as theCp_2ZrCl_2 and nickel combination system. With decreasing amount of Ni catalyst in the supported catalyst, the molecular chains of oligomers in the resulting solution became shorter, while α-olefin selectivity increased.

The production of superheavy nuclei with Z=108-116 via hot fusion reactions of the neutron-rich projectiles with 238U target is systematically *** results show that the production cross sections of superheavy nuclei do not decrease monotonously as the atomic number Z *** cross sections of the superheavy nuclei at Z = 112 and 115 are enhanced as compared with the whole Z-trend in synthesis of the superheavy nuclei,which clearly illustrates that the reactions with large negative Q-value and shell correction are more favorable to synthesize superheavy nuclei.
