AIM: To compare the effects of extract F of red-rooted Salvia (EFRRS) on mucosal lesions of gastric corpus and antrum induced by hemorrhagic shock and reperfusion in rats. METHODS: The rats were subject to hemorrhagic shock and followed by reperfusion, and were divided randomly into two groups. Group 1 received saline, and group 2 received EFRRS intravenously. The index of gastric mucosal lesions (IGML) was expressed as the percentage of lesional area in the corpus or antrum. The degree of gastric mucosal lesions (DGML) was catalogued grade 0,1,2 and 3. The concentrations of prostaglandins (PGs) were measured by radioimmunoassay. The concentration of MDA was measured according to the procedures of Asakawa. The activity of SOD was measured by the biochemical way. The growth rates or inhibitory rates of above-mentioned parameters were calculated. RESULTS: As compared with IGML (%), grade 3 damage (%) and MDA content (nmol/g tissue) of gastric antrum which were respectively 7.96 +/- 0.59, 34.86 +/- 4.96 and 156.98 +/- 16.12, those of gastric corpus which were respectively 23.18 +/- 6.82, 58.44 +/- 9.07 and 230.56 +/- 19.37 increased markedly (P 2) and PGI(2)(pg/mg tissue), the ratio of PGI(2)/TXA(2) and the activity of SOD (U/g tissue) of corpus which were respectively 3.01 +/- 1.01, 8.35 +/- 1.95, 540.48 +/- 182.78, 714.38 +/- 123.74, 17.38 +/- 5.93 and 134.29 +/- 13.35 were markedly lower than those of antrum which were respectively 13.92 +/- 2.25, 26.78 +/- 6.06, 2218.56 +/- 433.12, 2531.76 +/- 492.35, 43.46 +/- 8.51 and 187.45 +/- 17.67 (P2) and PGI(2), the ratio of PGI(2)/TXA(2) and the activity of SOD of corpus which were respectively 632.56, 308.62, 40.75, 74.75, 92.29 and 122.25 were higher than those in antrum which were respe

The archaeological site of Sampula cemetery was located about 14 km to the southwest of the Luo County in Xinjiang Khotan,china,belonging to the ancient Yutian kingdom.14C analysis showed that this cemetery was used from 217 *** 283 A.D. Ancient DNA was analyzed by 364 bp of the mitochondrial DNA hypervariable region I （mtDNA HVR-I）,and by six restriction fragment length polymorphism （RFLP） sites of mtDNA coding *** successfully extracted and sequenced intact stretches of maternally inher- ited mtDNA from 13 out of 16 ancient Sampula *** analysis of mtDNA haplogroup distribution showed that the ancient Sampula was a complex population with both European and Asian *** joining network of U3 sub-haplogroup and multi-dimen- sional scaling analysis all showed that the ancient Sampula had maternal relationship with Ossetian and Iranian.

A near generalized balanced tournament design, or an NGBTD(k,m) in short, is a (km+1,k,k-1)-BIBD defined on a (km+1)-set V . Its blocks can be arranged into an m×(km+1) array in such a way that (1) the blocks in every column of the array form a partial parallel class partitioning V\{x} for some point x, and (2) every element of V is contained in precise k cells of each row. In this paper, we completely solve the existence of NGBTD(4,m) and almost completely solve the existence of NGBTD(5,m) with four exceptions.

The bubble deformation processes were reported when gas was injected into polyme r melt flow field in another paper, the experiments showed that the deformation was severely affected by the volume of the bubble, and in turn, for the different bubbles, several different deformation processes were presented d uring their movement along the flow channel. In addition, we could find that the magnitude of the bubble volume was dependent upon the pressure difference of th e gas injection pressure and the melt pressure. In this paper, more experimental conditions were changed to investigate the parameters relevant to the detachmen t of bubbles from the injection nozzle. The experimental results show that the p ressure difference, the melt flow velocity as well as the melt pressure were all critical for the parameters, such as the bubble detachment time, the maximum bu bble diameters and the magnitude of the bubble volume. The morphology changes of bubble were very large when the flow field was abruptly changed, and the situat ions were more complicated.

In order to deal with the performance degradation resulting from the quantization error,this paper introduces the statistics of Grassmannian codebook's quantization error into relay precoding design for multirelay *** on the two-step MMSE optimization algorithm for relay precoding and receiver equalizing with full feedback under QoS requirements,we first propose a limited feedback two-step MMSE optimization scheme for relay precoding and receiver equalizing with quantization error compensation,and then we propose a limited feedback joint MMSE optimization scheme for relay precoding and receiver equalizing with quantization error compensation subject to a global power constraint at the output of *** results show that the proposed joint MMSE optimization scheme with quantization error compensation has a much lower bit-error rate than the two-step MMSE optimization scheme with quantization error compensation and the joint MMSE optimization scheme without quantization error compensation.

The phylogenetic origin of Beckmannia remains *** genus has been placed within the Chlorideae,Aveneae(Agrostideae),Poeae,or treated as an isolate lineage,*** the present study, we used nuclear internal transcribed spacer(ITS)and chloroplast trnL-F sequences to examine the phylogenetic relationship between Beckmannia and those genera that have assumed to be *** the basis of the results of our studies,the following conclusions could be drawn:(i)Beckmannia and Alopecurus are sister groups with high support;and(ii)Beckmannia and Alopecurus are nested in the Poeae clade with high *** results of our analysis suggest that Beckmannia should be placed in Poeae.

Effects of repeated applications of fungicide carbendazim on its persistence and microbial community in soil

Carbendazim, a systemic benzimidazole fungicide, is applied repeatedly to control plant diseases including soilborne diseases, over a growing season. Studies were carried out under laboratory conditions to assess the effects of repeated carbendazim applications on its persistence and microbial community in soil. The results indicate that dissipation of carbendazim in soil was accelerated with its application frequency. The degradation rate constant of carbendazim was increased significantly from 0.074 d-1 to 0.79 d-1. The corresponding half-life was shorten markedly from 9.3 d to 0.9 d after four repeated applications. No significant inhibitory effect of carbendazim on soil microbial utilization of the carbon sources was observed after first treatment, but a slight increase in average well color development （AWCD） was shown after second, third, and fourth applications. It suggested that soil microorganisms become adapted to carbendazim after repeated application. Simpson and Shannon indexes of soil microbial community from carbendazim treated soil were also similar to those from the control soil, indicating that the richness and dominant character of soil microorganisms remain unchangeable after repeated application. However, after first, second, and third addition of carbendazim, McIntosh indexes on day 21 were significantly higher compared with the control, suggesting that balance of soil microorganisms was altered due to the enrichment of the specific carbendazim-adapting strains in soil
