Oxygen vacancies enriched Ir/WOx catalysts for the directly chem-catalytic conversion of cellulose to ethanol

Tungsten and its oxides are highly versatile catalysts with unique properties that hold great promise for a wide array of applications,including biological pathways and chemical *** chemo-catalysis of cellulose to ethanol presents a promising avenue for ethanol synthesis with the potential for enhanced efficiency compared to conventional methods,offering a sustainable and carbon-neutral alternative to existing petrochemical and biological ***,Ir/WOxcatalysts enriched with oxygen vacancies were meticulously prepared and demonstrated remarkable catalytic performance in converting cellulose to ethanol directly in the presence of tungstic *** catalyst achieved a high ethanol yield of 66.5%under optimal reaction conditions,approaching the theoretical yield limit of traditional ethanol *** results revealed the presence of oxygen defects,Bronsted/Lewis acidity,and Ir nanoclusters on the catalyst surface,working synergistically to facilitate the cascade catalysis of cellulose hydrolysis,sugar retro-aldol condensation reaction,and C2 intermediate hydrodeoxygenation to *** situ Fourier transform infrared spectrometer analysis confirmed the catalyst's ability to enhance the adsorption and activation of ethylene glycol for ethanol *** manipulating subtle structural features,this study offers a fresh perspective on tungsten group catalyst design and underscores the importance of synergistic effects among catalytic sites for the efficient production of ethanol from cellulose.

Herein,we disclose a highly regio-/chemoselective tandem asymmetric dearomatized halofunctionalization reaction of phenoltethered ynamides with diverse electrophilic halogenation sources in a catalyst-free manner for the practical and rapid assembly of a series of halogenated spirocyclic ***,the related dearomatized selenation and protonation are also achieved,affording the corresponding selenated and protonated spirocycles in high ***,the enantioselectivities of these products can be perfectly induced by Evans auxiliaries(99%ees).Significantly,this protocol not only represents the first tandem asymmetric halofunctionalization reaction of phenol derivatives,but also constitutes the first asymmetric halogenation/selenation of *** calculations indicate a remote induction model of Evans chiral auxiliary-attached keteniminium.

The effects of deep cryogenic-cycling treatment(DCT)on the mechanical properties,soft magnetic properties,and atomic scale structure of the Fe_(73.5)Si_(13.5)B_(9)Nb_(3)Cu_(1)amorphous nanocrystalline alloy were *** DCT samples were obtained by subjecting the as-annealed samples to a thermal cycling process between the temperature of the supercooled liquid zone and the temperature of liquid *** flat plate bending testing,hardness measurements,and nanoindentation experiment,it is found that the bending toughness of the DCT samples is improved and the soft magnetic properties are also slightly *** are attributed to the rejuvenation behavior of the DCT samples,which demonstrate a higher enthalpy of ***,DCT is an effective method to enhance the bending toughness of Fe-based amorphous nanocrystalline alloys without degrading the soft magnetic properties.

Diabetic wound healing is often complicated due to bacterial infections that intensify inflammation. Employing hydrogel dressings with inherent antibacterial properties can significantly reduce reliance on antibiotics for treating infected wounds in diabetics. Traditional hydrogels typically rely on the infiltration of bacteria into their porous structure to manifest antibacterial effects. However, this infiltration process is not only prolonged but can also exacerbate inflammation, further delaying the healing of the ***, promptly capturing and eliminating bacteria is crucial for enhancing the antibacterial efficiency of the hydrogel. In this context, we present a multifunctional hydrogel dressing, termed SIP, designed to tackle drug-resistant bacterial infections in diabetic wounds. This dressing integrates ionic liquid functional groups into a sericin-based matrix: phenylboronic acid for the immobilization of bacteria and imidazole for their subsequent annihilation. Expectedly, the SIP system demonstrates potent antibacterial activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, verified through in vitro and in vivo experiments. As a result, SIP emerges as a promising candidate in the realm of hydrogel dressings with innate antibacterial properties, showcasing considerable potential for addressing diabetic wounds plagued by drug-resistant bacterial infections.

A new Synbiotic supplementation ameliorates ulcerative colitis via modulating microbial homeostasis， protecting intestinal barrier integrity， and maintaining immunity homeostasis in mice

Ulcerative colitis [UC] is established by a chronic， diffuse inflammation of colonic mucosa with poorly defined etiology， and without sufficient treatment or cure available for remission. In this context， there is a growing recognition and consensus that synbiotic supplement may be promising and impactful strategies towards ameliorating UC and related inflammatory disorders， garnering significant attention from researchers as an alternative therapy. Herein， we innovatively prepared a novel synbiotic combination including Lactobacillus acidophilus， Bifidobacterium infants and prebiotics konjac glucomannan oligosaccharides [KGMO] to explore the potential therapeutic effects in dextran sodium sulfate [DSS] induced UC mouse model. The results demonstrated that the synbiotic effectively improved colitis symptoms in mice by mitigating weight loss， disease activity index [DAI]， colonic pathological damage， and colonic oxidative stress. it also observed that the synbiotic preserve intestinal barrier function integrity， reduces metabolic endotoxemia as well as inhibits the TLR4/NF-κB， NLRP3/Caspase-1， and Nrf2/Keap1 signaling pathway. Furthermore， the synbiotic modulated microbial homeostasis directly by enhancing beneficial microbes and reducing potentially harmful bacteria. In addition， microbiome phenotype prediction and bacterial functional potential prediction analysis demonstrated that the synbiotic supplementation regulated gut microbiota function involving inflammatory injury， metabolism， immune response， and pathopoiesia. Especially， the synbiotic not only restored the balance of Th1/Th2 cells as well as Th17/Treg cells along with specific inflammatory factors expression， but also maintained bile acid homeostasis by regulating FXR/FGF15 signaling pathway. Especially important is that the synbiotic was as effective as mesalazine against UC. Digitally-Assisted Analog Self-Interference Cancellation for STAR System

To enable simultaneous transmit and receive(STAR) on the same frequency in a densely deployed space with multi-interference sources, this work proposes a digitally-assisted analog selfinterference cancellation method, which can acquire reference signals through flexible wired/wireless switching access. Based on this method, the Minimum Mean Square Error algorithm with known channel state information is derived in detail, determining the upper limit of the cancellation performance, and the Adaptive Dithered linear Search algorithm for real-time engineering cancellation is *** correctness of theoretical analysis is verified by the practical self-interference channel measured by a vector network analyzer. Furthermore, we have designed and implemented the corresponding multiinterference cancellation prototype with the digitallyassisted structure, capable of handling multiple interferences(up to three) and supporting a large receive bandwidth of 100 MHz as well as a wide frequency coverage from 30 MHz to 3000 MHz. Prototype test results demonstrate that in the presence of three interferences, when the single interference bandwidth is 0.2/2/20 MHz(corresponding to the receive bandwidth of 2/20/100 MHz), the cancellation performance can reach 46/32/22 d B or more.

Polychlorinated naphthalenes(PCNs)are detrimental to human health and the *** the commercial production of PCNs banned,unintentional releases have emerged as a significant environmental ***,relevant information is still *** this study,provincial emissions for eight PCNs homologues from 37 sources in the Chinese mainland during the period of 1960-2019 were estimated based on a source-specific and time-varying emission factor *** results showed that the total PCNs emissions in 2019 reached 757.0 kg with Hebei ranked at the top among all the provinces and iron&steel industry as the biggest ***-chlorinated PCNs comprised 90%of emissions by mass,while highly chlorinated PCNs dominated in terms of toxicity,highlighting divergent priorities for mitigating emissions and safeguarding human *** emissions showed an overall upward trend from 1960 to 2019 driven by emission increase from iron&steel industry in terms of source,and from North China and East China in terms of geographic ***-capita emissions followed an inverted U-shaped environmental Kuznets curvewhile emission intensities decreased with increasing per-capita Gross Domestic Product(GDP)following a nearly linear pattern when log-transformed.
