Factors influencing clinical outcomes of acute ischemic stroke treated with intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator

Background Thrombolysis with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator （rt-PA） has gained international recognition, clinical outcomes following this thrombolytic therapy varied from patient to patient. Factors affecting clinical outcomes have not been well understood yet, so this retrospective case-control study aimed to investigate factors that may influence clinical outcomes of acute ischemic stroke treated with intravenous rt-PA. Methods One hundred and one patients with acute ischemic stroke who received intravenous rt-PA thrombolysis within 4.5 hours from disease onset were included. Patients were divided into good or poor outcome group according to modified Rankin Scale （mRS） score, good outcome group： mRS score of 0-1; poor outcome group： mRS of 2-6. Stroke characteristics were compared between the two groups. Factors for stroke outcomes were analyzed via univariate analysis and Logistic regression. Results Of the 101 patients studied, patients in good outcome group （n=55） were significantly younger than patients in poor outcome group （n=46, （62.82±14.25） vs. （68.81±9.85） years, P=0.029）. Good outcome group had fewer patients with diabetic history （9.09% vs. 28.26%, P=0.012）, fewer patients with leukoaraiosis （7.27% vs. 28.26%, P=-0.005） and presented with lower blood glucose level （（5.72±1.76） vs. （6.72±1.32） mmol/L, P=0.012）, lower systolic blood pressure level （（135.45±19.36） vs. （148.78±19.39） mmHg, P=0.003）, lower baseline NIHSS score （12.02±5.26 vs. 15.78±4.98, P=0.002） and shorter onset-to-treatment time （OTT）（（2.38±1.21） vs. （2.57±1.03） hours, P=0.044） than poor outcome group. Logistic regression analysis showed that absence of diabetic history （odds ratio （OR） 0.968 （95% CI 0.941-0.996））, absence of leukoaraiosis （OR 0.835 （95% C/0.712-0.980））, lower baseline NIHSS score （OR 0.885 （95% Cl 0.793- 0.989））, lower pre-thrombolysis systolic blood pressure （OR 0.962 （95% CI 0.929-0.997））, and lower blood glucose level （OR 0.699 （95% Cl 0.491-0.994）） befor

NIR-IIb-triggered photodynamic therapy combined with chemotherapy platform based on rare-earth-doped nanoparticles

Photodynamic therapy(PDT),with high spatiotemporal selectivity,minimal side effects and less drug resistance,has emerged as a promising approach for the treatment of ***,inadequate penetration depth and poor efficacy seriously restrict its practical *** address these challenges,we developed a combined therapy platform(RENP@C/D-FA)based on rare-earth-doped nanoparticles(RENPs)with a structure of NaErF_(4):Tm(0.5%)@NaYF_(4),on which photosensitizer Ce6(chlorin e6)and chemo-therapeutic drug(DOX)(doxorubicin)were loaded by encapsulating with an amphiphilic polymer distearoyl phosphatidylethanolamine-polyethylene glycol-folic acid(DSPE-PEG-FA).RENPs with NaErF_(4) as the matrix possess multiple excitation/emission peaks,enabling activation of PDT under near-infrared-Ⅱb(NIR-Ⅱb,1500-1700 nm)excitation and luminescence imaging in NIR-Ⅱb region by absorbing 808 nm near-infrared ***,DOX can be selectively released in the acidic microenvironment of *** from the tumor targeting capability of folic acid,this platform can successfully ablate tumor cells and inhibit tumor growth by combining PDT and *** innovative approach holds great promise as a powerful tool for cancer treatment,showing the potential to revolutionize PDT.

A highly sensitive multiple-mode optical thermometer designed in Eu^(2+/3+)and Li^(+)co-doped polymorphism compound LaSc_(3)(BO_(3))_(4)

Noncontact optical thermometers have attracted widespread attention,but existing problems such as single-mode and low-sensitivity thermometers still urgently need to be ***,a novel multiple-mode thermometer was designed for the polymorphism LaSc_(3)(BO_(3))_(4):Eu^(2+/3+),Li^(+).X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns revealed a slight transition betweenα-andβ-phases with the concentrations of the dopants,which is further proved by structure refinements and first-principles *** coexistence of Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)in the phosphors and their relative percentages were confirmed by X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES)*** from appropriate emissions from Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)without obvious energy transfer and their opposite changing trends with temperatures under 307 nm excitation,a triple-mode optical thermometer is obtained for this material within the temperature range of 150–450 *** highest sensitivities of 27.65,14.05,and 7.68%·K^(−1)are achieved based on two fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)modes of Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)(5d–4f/^(5)D_(0)–^(7)F_(2,4))and the fluorescence lifetime(FL)mode of Eu^(2+),*** the best of our knowledge,the former is almost the highest in Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)co-doped *** results indicate that this material may be used as an excellent multiple-mode optical thermometer.

Stiffened structures have great potential for improvingmechanical performance,and the study of their stability is of great *** this paper,the optimization of the critical buckling load factor for curved grid stiffeners is solved by using the level set based density method,where the shape and cross section(including thickness and width)of the stiffeners can be optimized *** grid stiffeners are a combination ofmany single stiffenerswhich are projected by the corresponding level set *** thickness and width of each stiffener are designed to be independent variables in the projection applied to each level set ***,the path of each single stiffener is described by the zero iso-contour of the level set *** the single stiffeners are combined together by using the p-norm method to obtain the stiffener *** proposed method is validated by several numerical examples to optimize the critical buckling load factor.

Anti-psoriasis molecular targets and active components discovery of Optimized Yinxieling Formula via affinity-purified strategy

Psoriasis,a prevalent inherited skin condition,involves an inflammatory response as a key pathogenic *** Optimized Yinxieling Formula(OYF),rooted in traditional Chinese medicine,is extensively utilized in clinical settings to treat *** previous studies have demonstrated OYF’s significant anti-inflammatory effects in psoriasis,its potential molecular targets and active components remain *** study aimed to unveil the anti-psoriasis molecular targets and active components of *** findings indicated that OYF extract markedly reduced the production of several inflammatory mediators,including IL-23,nitric oxide,TNF-α,and IL-1β,in LPS-induced RAW264.7 *** synthesized OYF extract-crosslinked beads to isolate pharmacological targets from RAW264.7 lysates using an affinity purification strategy,known as Target *** enriched target proteins were subsequently identified via LC-MS/MS,followed by bioinformatics analysis to map the psoriasis-associated pathway-gene *** identified a total of 76 potential target proteins,which were highly associated with mRNA transcription *** particular,pathway-gene network analysis revealed that the IL-23 inflammatory pathway was involved in the anti-psoriasis effect of OYF *** further utilized a target protein-based affinity capture strategy,combined with LC-MS and SPR analysis,to globally screen OYF’s active components,focusing on the mRNA transcription regulator,fused in sarcoma(FUS).This process led to the identification of umbelliferone,vanillic acid,protocatechuic acid,gentisic acid,and echinacoside as key compounds targeting FUS to inhibit IL-23 ***,we formulated a compound cocktail(CpdC),which significantly reduced psoriasis area and severity index(PASI)scores and the expressions of IL-23 and Ki67 in an imiquimod(IMQ)-induced psoriasis mouse ***,our study elucidates the primary molecular targets and active components of OYF,offeri

Improving model performance in mapping cropland soil organic matter using time-series remote sensing data

Faced with increasing global soil degradation,spatially explicit data on cropland soil organic matter(SOM)provides crucial data for soil carbon pool accounting,cropland quality assessment and the formulation of effective management *** a spatial information prediction technique,digital soil mapping(DSM)has been widely used to spatially map soil information at different ***,the accuracy of digital SOM maps for cropland is typically lower than for other land cover types due to the inherent difficulty in precisely quantifying human *** overcome this limitation,this study systematically assessed a framework of“information extractionfeature selection-model averaging”for improving model performance in mapping cropland SOM using 462 cropland soil samples collected in Guangzhou,China in *** results showed that using the framework of dynamic information extraction,feature selection and model averaging could efficiently improve the accuracy of the final predictions(R^(2):0.48 to 0.53)without having obviously negative impacts on *** the dynamic information of the environment was an efficient way to generate covariates that are linearly and nonlinearly related to SOM,which improved the R^(2)of random forest from 0.44 to 0.48 and the R^(2)of extreme gradient boosting from 0.37to *** recursive feature selection(FRFS)is recommended when there are relatively few environmental covariates(500).The Granger-Ramanathan model averaging approach could improve the prediction accuracy and average *** the structures of initial prediction models are similar,increasing in the number of averaging models did not have significantly positive effects on the final *** the advantages of these selected strategies over information extraction,feature selection and model averaging have a great potential for high-accuracy soil mapping

Geological characteristics of unconventional tight oil reservoir (10^(9) t): A case study of Upper Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation, northern Songliao Basin, NE China

The Daqing exploration area in the northern Songliao Basin has great potential for unconventional oil and gas resources,among which the total resources of tight oil alone exceed 109 t and is regarded as an important resource base of Daqing *** years of exploration in the Qijia area,Songliao Basin,NE China,tight oil has been found in the Upper Cretaceous Qingshankou *** work out tight oil’s geological characteristics,taking tight oil in Gaotaizi oil layers of the Upper Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation in northern Songliao Basin as an example,this paper systematically analyzed the geological characteristics of unconventional tight oil in Gao3 and Gao4 layers of the Qijia area,based on the data of the geological survey,well drilling journey,well logging,and *** is that three sets of hydrocarbon source rocks(K2qn1,K2qn2+3,and K2n1)develop in the examined area,and exhibit excellent type I and II kerogens,high organic matter abundance,and moderate *** reservoir is generally composed of thin-bedded mudstone,siltstone,and sandstone,and presents poor porosity(average 8.5 vol.%)and air permeability(average 4 mD).The main reservoir space primarily includes intergranular pores,secondary soluble pores,and intergranular soluble *** types of orifice throats were identified,namely fine throat,extra-fine throat,and micro-fine *** siltstone is generally oil-bearing,the reservoirs with slime and calcium become worse oil-bearing,and the mudstone has no obvious oil-bearing *** brittleness indices of the sandstone in the tight oil reservoir range from 40%to 60%,and those of the mudstone range from 40%to 45%,indicating a better brittleness of the tight oil *** on the study of typical core hole data,this paper gives a comprehensive evaluation of the properties of the tight oil and establishes a tight oil single well composite bar chart as well as the initial evaluation system with the core of properties in the tigh

Associations between remnant cholesterol levels and mortality in patients with diabetes
