Type i interferon pathway in pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus

Background The role of type i interferon(iFN-i)signaling in systemic lupus erythematosus(SlE)has been well ***,unanswered questions remain regarding the applicability of these findings to pediatric-onset *** aim of this review is to provide an overview of the novel discoveries on iFN-i signaling in pediatric-onset *** sources A literature search was conducted in the PubMed database using the following keywords:“pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus”and“type i interferon”.Results iFN-i signaling is increased in pediatric SlE,largely due to the presence of plasmacytoid dendritic cells and pathways such as cyclic GMP-AMP synthase–stimulator of interferon genes–TANK-binding kinase 1 and Toll-like receptor(TlR)4/*** extracellular traps and oxidative DNA damage further stimulate iFN-i *** variants in iFN-i-related genes,such as iFN-regulatory factor 5 and tyrosine kinase 2,are linked to SlE susceptibility in pediatric *** addition,type i interferonopathies,characterized by sustained iFN-i activation,can mimic SlE symptoms and are thus important to *** on interferonopathies also contribute to exploring the pathogenesis of *** iFN-i activation is crucial for SlE diagnosis and *** iFNstimulated gene expression and serum iFN-α2 levels are common *** cytometry markers such as CD169 and galectin-9 are promising ***-iFN therapies,such as sifalimumab and anifrolumab,show promise in adult patients with SlE,but their efficacy in pediatric patients requires further *** kinase inhibitors are another treatment option for severe pediatric SlE *** This review presents an overview of the iFN-i pathway in pediatric *** the intricate relationship between iFN-i and pediatric SlE may help to identify potential diagnostic markers and targeted therapies,paving the way for improved patient care and outcomes.

Numerical design of an efficient Ho^(3+)-doped inF3 fiber laser at~3.2μm

in this work,we theoretically unlock the potential of Ho^(3+)-doped inF3 fiber for efficient~3.2μm laser generation(from the 5F4,5S2→5F5 transition),by employing a novel dual-wavelength pumping scheme at 1150 nm and 980 nm,for the first *** clad-coupled 1150 nm pumping of 5 W,~3.2μm power of 3.6 W has been predicted with the optical-to-optical efficiency of 14.4%.Further efficient power scaling,however,is blocked by the output saturation with 980 nm *** alleviate this behavior,the cascaded 5i5→5i6 transition,targeting~3.9μm,has been activated simultaneously,therefore accelerating the population circulation between the laser upper level 5F4,5S2 and long-lived 5i6 level under 980 nm *** a result,enhanced~3.2μm power of 4.68 W has been obtained with optical-to-optical efficiency of 15.6%.Meanwhile the~3.9μm laser,yiel.ing power of 2.76 W with optical-to-optical efficiency of 9.2%,is theoretically achievable as well with a moderate heat load,of which the performance is even better than the prior experimentally and theoretically reported Ho^(3+)-doped inF3 fiber lasers emitting at~3.9μm *** work demonstrates a versatile platform for laser generation at~3.2μm and~3.9μm,thus providing the new opportunities for many potential applications,e.g.,polymer processing,infrared countermeasures,and free-space communications.

The positive definiteness of real quadratic forms with convolution structures plays an important rol.in stability analysis for time-stepping schemes for nonlocal operators. in this work, we present a novel analysistool to handle discrete convolution kernels resul.ing from variable-step approximations for convolution *** precisely, for a class of discrete convolution kernels relevant to variable-step l1-type time discretizations, weshow that the associated quadratic form is positive definite under some easy-to-check algebraic conditions. Ourproof is based on an elementary constructing strategy by using the properties of discrete orthogonal convolutionkernels and discrete complementary convolution kernels. To our knowledge, this is the first general result onsimple algebraic conditions for the positive definiteness of variable-step discrete convolution kernels. Using theunified theory, we obtain the stability for some simple nonuniform time-stepping schemes straightforwardly.

Stability of the Phase Separation State for Compressible Navier-Stokes/Allen-Cahn System

This paper is concerned with the large time behavior of the Cauchy problem for Navier-Stokes/AllenCahn system describing the interface motion of immiscible two-phase flow in 3-D. The existence and uniqueness of global solutions and the stability of the phase separation state are proved under the small.initial perturbations. Moreover, the optimal time decay rates are obtained for higher-order spatial derivatives of density,velocity and phase. Our results imply that if the immiscible two-phase flow is initially located near the phase separation state, then under small perturbation conditions, the solution exists globally and decays algebraically to the complete separation state of the two-phase flow, that is, there will be no interface fracture, vacuum, shock wave, mass concentration at any time, and the interface thickness tends to zero as the time t → +∞.

OsbZiP01 Affects Plant Growth and Development by Regulating OsSD1 in Rice

As the‘Green Revolution’gene,SD1(encoding GA20ox2),has been widely applied to improve yield in rice ***,research on its transcriptional regulation is ***,we identified a transcription factor OsbZiP01,which can suppress the expression of SD1 and regulate gibberel.in(GA)biosynthesis in *** mutants of OsbZiP01 exhibited increased plant height,while the overexpression lines showed a semi-dwarf phenotype and diminished germination ***,the semi-dwarf phenotype of OE-bZiP01,was caused by the reduced internode length,which was accompanied by a thin stem *** predominant expression of OsbZiP01 was observed in leaves and ***01 protein was localized in the nucleus and showed transcriptional repression *** addition,OsbZiP01 could directly bind to the promoter of the OsSD1 gene,and inhibit its *** semi-dwarf phenotype of OE-bZiP01 could be rescued by exogenous GA_(3).Meanwhile,the bzip01 sd1 double mutant showed a shorter shoot length compared with the wild type,indicating that OsbZiP01 regulated plant growth mainly through the GA biosynthesis ***,OsbZiP01 negatively regulates GA biosynthesis by restraining SD1 transcription,thereby affecting plant growth and development.

Study of the reaction mechanism for preparing powdered activated coke with SO_(2)adsorption capability via one-step rapid activation method under flue gas atmosphere

in this study,the impact of different reaction times on the preparation of powdered activated carbon(PAC)using a one-step rapid activation method under flue gas atmosphere is investigated,and the underl.ing reaction mechanism is *** indicate that the reaction process of this method can be divided into three stages:stage i is the rapid release of volatiles and the rapid consumption of O_(2),primarily occurring within a reaction time range of 0-0.5 s;stage ii is mainly the continuous release and diffusion of volatiles,which is the carbonization and activation coupling reaction stage,and the carbonization process is the main in this *** stage mainly occurs at the reaction time range of 0.5 -2.0 s when Sl-coal.is used as material,and that is 0.5-3.0 s when JJ-coal.is used as material;stage iii is mainly the activation stage,during which activated components diffuse to both the surface and interior of *** stage mainly involves the reaction stage of CO_(2)and H2O(g)activation,and it mainly occurs at the reaction time range of 2.0-4.0 s when Sl-coal.is used as material,and that is 3.0-4.0 s when JJ-coal.is used as ***,the main function of the first two stages is to provide more diffusion channels and contact surfaces/activation sites for the diffusion and activation of the activated components in the third *** the reaction mechanism would serve as a crucial reference and foundation for designing the structure,size of the reactor,and optimal positioning of the activator nozzle in PAC preparation.

A new muon beam facility,called the Experimental Muon Source(EMuS),was proposed for construction at the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS).The design of the complex muon beamlines for the EMuS baseline scheme,which is based on superconducting solenoids,superferric dipoles and room-temperature magnets,is presented *** muon beams,including surface muons,decay muons and low energy muons,have been developed for mul.ipurpose *** optics design and simulation results of the trunk beamline and branch beamlines are *** a proton beam power of 25 kW at a standalone target station that consists of a conical graphite target and high-field superconducting solenoids,the muon beam intensity in the trunk beamline varies from 10^(7)/s for surface muons to 10^(10)/s for high-momentum decay *** at the endstations,these values vary from 10^(5)/s for surface muons to 10^(8)/s for decay muons.

Determining beam transverse absolute position by triangulation of mul.i-electrode signal phase differences

Accurate measurement of the transverse position of a beam is crucial.in particle accelerators because it plays a key role in determining the beam *** methods for beam-position measurement rely on the detection of image currents induced on electrodes or narrow-band wake field induced by a beam passing through a cavity-type ***,these methods have *** indirect measurement of mul.iple parameters is computationally complex,requiring external calibration to determine the system parameters in ***,the utilization of the beam signal.information is ***,this study proposes a novel method for measuring the absolute electron beam transverse *** utilizing the geometric relationship between the center position of the measured electron beam and mul.iple detection electrodes and by analyzing the differences in the arrival times of the beam signals detected by these electrodes,the absolute transverse position of the electron beam crossing the electrode plane can be *** method features absolute position measurement,a position sensitivity coefficient independent of vacuum chamber apertures,and no requirement for a symmetrical detector electrode *** feasibility of this method is validated through numerical simulations and beam experiments.

Effect of solvent on the initiation mechanism of living anionic polymerization of styrene:A computational study

For living anionic polymerization(lAP),solvent has a great influence on both reaction mechanism and *** this work,by using the classical butyl lithium-styrene polymerization as a model system,the effect of solvent on the mechanism and kinetics of lAP was revealed through a strategy combining density functional theory(DFT)calculations and kinetic *** terms of mechanism,it is found that the stronger the solvent polarity,the more electrons transfer from initiator to solvent through detailed energy decomposition analysis of electrostatic interactions between initiator and solvent ***,we also found that the stronger the solvent polarity,the higher the monomer initiation energy barrier and the smaller the initiation rate ***,initiation is more favorable at lower temperatures based on the calculated results ofΔG_(TS).Finally,the kinetic characteristics in different solvents were further examined by kinetic *** is found that in benzene and n-pentane,the polymerization rate exhibits first-order ***,slow initiation and fast propagation were observed in tetrahydrofuran(THF)due to the slow free ion formation rate,leading to a deviation from first-order kinetics.

insight of enriched basalts into the nature and evolution of mantle lithosphere beneath craton margins

Refractory lithospheric deep roots are the cornerstone for the prolonged stability of cratons and mantle xenoliths are normally the key targets for study on the evolution of such deep roots. in regions with few mantle xenoliths, the basalts enriched in radiogenic isotopic compositions due to marked lithospheric mantle contribution are crucial to unmask the lithospheric mantle evolution based on a comprehensive study invol.ing petrology, geochemistry and thermodynamic model.ing. Here, the Early Cretaceous basalts from the northwest North China Craton with few mantle xenoliths are taken as an example to show the significance of enriched basalts on the study of lithospheric mantle. These basalts are characterized by high silica and alkali contents(SiO_(2)=45.8–59.8 wt.%, K_(2)O+Na_(2)O=4.81–9.88 wt.%), arc-type trace-element patterns and enriched radiogenic isotope compositions(e.g., ε_(Nd)=-2.64–-12.88,^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr=0.7063–0.7093). The TiO_(2) and FeO(total) contents are higher than those of natural and experimental melts from refractory mantle peridotite but comparable to those of partial melts of fertile mantle *** high contents of fl.id-loving elements(e.g., Rb and Ba) suggest source metasomatism by aqueous fl.ids. Combined with thermodynamic model.ing and regional tectonic history, these enriched basalts likely record simultaneous decompression mel.ing of asthenosphere and low-extent mel.ing of thin and fertile lithospheric mantle fluxed by aqueous fl.ids from the subducted Paleo-Asian oceanic slab. The newly unmasked lithospheric mantle under the western NCC contrasts with the coeval thick and refractory one supporting the eastern NCC, and highlights that the craton destruction, especially the loss of its ancient refractory mantle root, should take place in a diachronous manner related to the craton-girded subduction episodes.
