Scalable synthesis of hcp ruthenium-molybdenum nanoalloy as a robust bifunctional electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution/oxidation

The hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is the cathodic process of water splitting,and its reverse,the hydrogen oxidation reaction(HOR),is the anodic process of an H-Ofuel cell;both play important roles in the development of hydrogen *** rational design and scalable fabrication of low-cost and efficient bifunctional catalysts for the HER/HOR are highly ***,ultrasmall Mo-Ru nanoalloy(Mo_(0.5)Ru_(3)and Mo_(0.5)Ru_(3))particles uniformly distributed on mesoporous carbon(MPC)were successfully synthesized by a simple method that is easy to scale up for mass *** the incorporation of Mo atoms,the as-prepared Mo_(0.5)Ru_(3)and Mo_(0.5)Ru_(3)nanoalloys maintain a hexagonal-close-packed crystal *** acidic media,Mo_(0.5)Ru_(3)exhibits excellent Pt-like HER and HOR activity,as well as good *** functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the H adsorption free energy(ΔG)on the Mo_(0.5)Ru_(3)(001)surface(-0.09 eV)is much closer to zero than that of metallic Ru(-0.22 eV),which contributes to the enhanced catalytic *** alkaline media,Mo_(0.5)Ru_(3)also presents outstanding HER and HOR activity,even significantly outperforming Pt/*** DFT results confirm that optimal binding energies with H*and OH*intermediate species,and low energy barriers in the water dissociation and formation steps,efficiently accelerate the alkaline HER/HOR kinetics of Mo_(0.5)Ru_(3).This study provides a new avenue for the scalable fabrication of high-efficiency bifunctional electrocatalysts for the HER and HOR in both acidic and alkaline media.

Efficient,robust and cost-effective electrocatalysts that catalyze hydrogen evolution/oxidation reaction(HER/HOR)in alkaline media are highly ***,single-atom catalysts(SACs)have emerged as new promising candidates;however,the rational design of supports and the optimization of coordination environment between supports and metal atoms are *** this work,we successfully fabricate atomically dispersed ruthenium(Ru)species,which are strongly coordinated by N and S dual heteroatoms on holey graphene(RuSA/NSG),as an excellent bifunctional catalyst for HER/*** alkaline media,the developed catalyst exhibits high catalytic performance with a low overpotential of 57.3 mV to drive a current density of 10 mA cm^(-1) for HER,and its mass activity is about 5.8 times higher than that of commercial Pt/C and Ru/C catalysts at an overpotential of 100 ***,considerable HOR performance of Ru SA/NSG is verified to be superior to Pt/C and Ru/***,X-ray-based spectroscopy measurements and density-functional theory calculations have confirmed that,compared with Ru–N_(4),the tailored Ru–N_(4)–S_(2) with nearby S dopants can act as more active centers to greatly accelerate the sluggish HER/HOR kinetics in alkaline *** present work provides a new atomic-level engineering strategy to modulate catalytic activities of SACs via the coordination design using dual heteroatoms on the carbon support.

Crude oil scheduling optimization is an effective method to enhance the economic benefits of oil *** uncertainties,including uncertain demands of crude distillation units(CDUs),might make the production plans made by the traditional deterministic optimization models infeasible.A data-driven Wasserstein distributionally robust chance-constrained(WDRCC)optimization approach is proposed in this paper to deal with demand uncertainty in crude oil ***,a new deterministic crude oil scheduling optimization model is developed as the basis of this *** Wasserstein distance is then used to build ambiguity sets from historical data to describe the possible realizations of probability distributions of uncertain demands.A cross-validation method is advanced to choose suitable radii for these ambiguity *** deterministic model is reformulated as a WDRCC optimization model for crude oil scheduling to guarantee the demand constraints hold with a desired high probability even in the worst situation in ambiguity *** proposed WDRCC model is transferred into an equivalent conditional value-at-risk representation and further derived as a mixed-integer nonlinear programming *** case studies from a real-world refinery are conducted to show the effectiveness of the proposed ***-of-sample tests demonstrate that the solution of the WDRCC model is more robust than those of the deterministic model and the chance-constrained model.

Aiming at the problem of insufficient prediction accuracy of strip flatness at the outlet of cold tandem rolling,the prediction performance of strip flatness based on different ensemble methods was studied and a high-precision prediction ensemble model of strip flatness at the outlet was ***,based on linear regression(LR),K nearest neighbors(KNN),support vector regression,regression trees(RT),and backpropagation neural network(BPN),bagging,boosting,and stacking ensemble methods were used for ensemble ***,three existing ensemble models,i.e.,random forest,extreme random tree(ET)and extreme gradient boosting,were used to conduct experiments and compare the *** research shows that bagging,boosting,and stacking three ensemble methods have the most significant improvement in the prediction accuracy of the regression trees model,which is increased by 5.28%,6.51%,and 5.32%,*** the same time,the stacking ensemble method improves both the simple model and the complex model,and the improvement effect on the simple base model is the greatest,which is 4.69%higher than that of the base model *** all of the ensemble models,the stacking ensemble model of level-1(ET,AdaBoost-RT,LR,BPN)paired with level-2(LR)was discovered to be the best model(EALB-LR)and can be further studied for industrial applications.

Optimal vision and ergonomics are essential factors contributing to the achievement of good results during *** three-dimensional(3D)digital image microscope system with a better 3D depth of field can release strain on the surgeon's neck and back,which can improve outcomes in *** report a randomized prospective study of vasoepididymostomy and vasovasostomy using a 3D digital image microscope system(3D-DIM)in rats.A total of 16 adult male rats were randomly divided into two groups of 8 each:the standard operating microscope(SOM)group and the 3D-DIM *** outcomes measured included the operative time,real-time postoperative mechanical patency,and anastomosis ***,a user-friendly microscope score was designed to evaluate the ergonomic design and equipment characteristics of the *** were no differences in operative time between the two *** real-time postoperative mechanical patency rates were 100.0%for both *** percentage of vasoepididymostomy anastomosis leakage was 16.7%in the SOM group and 25.0%in the 3D-DIM group;however,no vasovasostomy anastomosis leakage was found in either *** terms of the ergonomic design,the 3D-DIM group obtained better scores based on the surgeon's feelings;in terms of the equipment characteristics,the 3D-DIM group had lower scores for clarity and higher scores for flexibility and *** on our randomized prospective study in a rat model,we believe that the 3D-DIM can improve surgeon comfort without compromising outcomes in male infertility reconstructive microsurgery,so the 3D-DIM might be widely used in the future.

Charge strippers play an essential role in heavy-ion accelerators by stripping the projectile ions to higher charge states to enhance the acceleration efficiency downstream of the *** the high-energy mode of the booster ring(BRing)of the high-intensity heavy-ion accelerator facility,the pre-accelerated ions from the iLinac will be stripped by a carbon foil to higher charge states and then injected into the *** key parameters of the stripper and stripped ions were calculated,and the influence of stripping on the beam quality was *** get high stripping efficiencies,the foil thicknesses and resultant charge state distributions for the typical ions were determined by the code *** equilibrium thickness was obtained for the U beam,while the stripper thicknesses for the Xe and Kr beams were determined based on a compromise between the stripped charge states and the stripping *** energy loss,energy straggling,and emittance growth due to stripping have a non-negligible impact on the transport of the stripped beams and the injection of the ***,these parameters were simulated by *** addition,the foil’s temperature evolution,which greatly affects the foil lifetime,was simulated by *** maximum temperature of the foil bombarded by the U and Xe beams with the nominal parameters will exceed the safe value in terms of the impact of evaporation on the foil’s *** the foil temperature constraint,the highest tolerable beam intensity and the injected ion number into the ring were derived for different beam *** results of this paper will present important reference data for the optimization design and commissioning of the beamline and injection to the BRing for the stripped ions.

Nowadays,lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)play a crucial role in modern society in the aspect of portable electronic devices and large-scale smart ***,the current performance of lithium-ion batteries has been unable to meet the growing expectations of society and scientific ***,we have synthetically investigated availability of 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer as anode based on DFT for LIBs *** findings have demonstrated that 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer is a semiconductor with a small band gap of 0.2 eV,which suggest that the electronic property of 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer would take place an evident shift from semiconductor property to metallic property after Li ***,we checked the stability of 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer and investigated the viability of exfoliation from bulk multilayer Ni-TABQ to form 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer in the light of exfoliation energy and binding *** continuously studied electrochemical properties of 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer with respect of theoretical specific capacity,Li-ion diffusion barriers and open-circuit *** the charging process,2D Ni-TABQ monolayer can achieve a high specific capacity of 722 m Ah/g with an open-circuit voltage range from 1.12 V to 0.22 *** aforementioned results make the 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer a promising anode for LIBs.
