2D–3D dual carbon layer confined ultrasmall VN nanoparticles for improving lithium-ion storage in hybrid capacitors

Lithium-ion capacitors(LICs) of achieving high power and energy density have garnered significant attention. However, the kinetics unbalance between anode and cathode can impede the application of LICs. Vanadium nitride(VN) with a high theoretical specific capacity(~ 1200 m Ah·g^(-1)) is a better pseudocapacitive anode to match the response of cathode in LICs. However, the insertion/extraction of Li-ions in VN's operation results in significant volume expansion. Herein, the VN/N-r GO-5composite that three-dimentional(3D) dicyandiamidederived-carbon(DDC) tightly wrapped VN quantum dots(VN QDTs) on two-dimentional(2D) reduced graphene oxid(r GO) was prepared by a facile strategy. The VN QDTs can reduce ion diffusion length and improve charge transfer kinetics. The 2D r GO as a template provides support for nanoparticle dispersion and improves electrical conductivity. The 3D DDC tightly encapsulated with VN QDTs mitigates agglomeration of VN particles as well as volume expansion. Correspondingly, the LICs with VN/Nr GO-5 composite as anode and activated carbon(AC) as cathode were fabricated, which exhibits a high energy density and power density. Such strategy provides a perspective for improving the electrochemical properties of LIC anode materials by suppressing volume expansion and enhancing conductivity.

Surgery for left ventricular aneurysm after myocardial infarction： techniques selection and results assessment

Background The most appropriate surgical approach for patients with post-infarction left ventricular （LV） aneurysm remains undetermined. We compared the efficacy of the linear versus patch repair techniques, and investigated the mid-term changes of LV geometry and cardiac function, for repair of LV aneurysms. Methods We reviewed the records of 194 patients who had surgery for a post-infarction LV aneurysm between 1998 and 2010. Short-term and mid-term outcomes, including complications, cardiac function and mortality, were assessed. LV end-diastolic and systolic dimensions （LVEDD and LVESD）, LV end-diastolic and end-systolic volume indexes （LVEDVI and LVESVI） and LV ejection fraction （LVEF） were measured on pre-operative and follow-up echocardiography. Results Overall in-hospital mortality was 4.12%, and major morbidity showed no significant differences between the two groups. Multivariate analysis identified preoperative left ventricular end diastolic pressure 〉20 mmHg, low cardiac output and aortic clamping time 〉2 hours as risk factors for early mortality. Follow-up revealed that LVEF improved from 37% pre-operation to 45% 12 months post-operation in the patch group （P=0.008）, and from 44% pre-operation to 40% 12 months postoperation in the linear group （P=0.032）. In contrast, the LVEDVI and LVESVI in the linear group were significantly reduced immediately after the operation, and increased again at follow-up. However, in the patch group, the LVEDVI and LVESVI were significantly reduced at follow-up. And there were significant differences in the correct value changes of LVEF and left ventricular remodeling between linear repair and patch groups. Conclusions Persistent reduction of LV dimensions after the patch repair procedure seems to be a procedure-related problem. The choice of the technique should be tailored on an individual basis and surgeon＇s preference. SIMULATION OF LAGRANGIAN DISPERSION USING A LAGRANGIAN STOCHASTIC MODEL AND DNS IN A TURBULENT CHANNEL FLOW

The mean square displacements of fluid particles in a turbulent channel flow at Reτ = 100 are investigated using a modified Langevin equation, and are compared with DNS results. Both the Lagrangian integral time scales directly obtained from DNS and the predicted values using an empirical relation between the Eulerian and the Lagrangian integral time scales are used in the modified Langevin equation to test the effects of integral time scales on the dispersion of particles. The results show that the slight variation of the Lagrangian integral time scale has little influence on the dispersion. The agreement between results of the model equation and those of DNS is satisfactory except the streamwise dispersion for intermediate times （ 20 〈 t^＋〈 300 ）, where the results of the model equation are slightly overestimated compared to those of DNS. The cause of such discrepancy is discussed.

Detection and Characterization of Non-covalent Complex between Lappaconitine and β-Cyclodextrin by Electrospray Ionization Tandem Mass Spectrometry

The non-covalent complexes between lappaconitine （LA） and β-cyclodextrin （β-CD） have been detected and characterized by electrospray ionization combined with ion trap tandem mass spectrometry （ESI-MSn）. The experimental results showed that only 1：1 non-covalent complex can be formed in different starting molar ratios of LA to β-CD. Furthermore, the diagnostic fragmentation of the β-CD-LA complex, with a significant contribution of covalent fragmentation of LA leaving the N-acetyl anthranoyl （AN） moiety inserted to β-CD, provided the convincing evidence for the formation of non-covalent complex between LA and β-CD and the cite of LA molecule included to cavity of β-CD assigned to AN residue.

TURBULENT MIXING AND EVOLUTION IN A STABLY STRATIFIED FLOW WITH A TEMPERATURE STEP

Large-Eddy Simulation （LES） is applied to examine the turbulent mixing and evolution in a stably stratified flow with a thermally sharp interface. Turbulent velocity intensities and turbulent kinetic energy are analyzed by considering the mean shear and stratification effects. The evolution of turbulent mixing layer and turbulent structures are mainly investigated. The results show that the streamwise intensities are much larger than the vertical intensities, and vertical fluctuations decay more rapidly at the presence of stratification. The qualitatively computational results suggest that the mixing layer, defined by the mean temperature, inclines to the side with small inlet velocity. The evolution of the half-width of the mixing layer shows two different slopes. The turbulent structure with high vorticity is restricted in the mixing layer especially in strong stratified cases.

Relationship between celiac artery variation and number of lymph nodes dissection in gastric cancer surgery

BACKGROUND Radical D2 lymphadenectomy for advanced gastric cancer as a standard procedure has gained global consensus. Mounting studies have shown that the number of lymph nodes dissection directly affects the prognosis and recurrence of gastric cancer. Our previous study showed that there was no obvious lymph node around the abnormal hepatic artery derived from the superior mesenteric artery. AIM To investigate the relationship between celiac artery variation and the number of lymph nodes dissection in gastric cancer surgery. METHODS The clinicopathological data of 421 patients treated with radical D2 lymphadenectomy were analyzed retrospectively. The difference of the number of lymph nodes dissection between the celiac artery variation group and the normal vessels group and the relationship with prognosis were analyzed. RESULTS Celiac artery variation was found in 110 patients, with a variation rate of 26.13%. Celiac artery variation, tumor staging, and Borrmann typing were factors that affected lymph node clearance in gastric cancer, and the number of lymph nodes dissection in patients with celiac artery variation was significantly less than that of non-variant groups (P 0.05). Univariate and multiple Cox regression analysis showed that celiac artery variation was not a prognostic factor for gastric cancer (P > 0.05). Tumor staging, intraoperative bleeding, and positive lymph node ratio were prognostic factors for gastric cancer patients (all P < 0.05). CONCLUSION The number of lymph nodes dissection in patients with celiac artery variation was reduced, but there was no obvious effect on prognosis. Therefore, lymph nodes around the abnormal hepatic artery may not need to be dissected in radical D2 lymphadenectomy.

This is a study on the mass transport of a solute or contaminant in oscillating flows through a circular tube with a reactive wall layer. The reaction consists of a reversible component due to phase exchange between the flowing fluid and the wall layer, and an irreversible component due to absorption into the wall. The short-time dispersion characteristics are numerically investigated, incorporating the coupling effects between the flow oscillation, sorption kinetics, and retardation due to phase partitioning. The effects of various dimensionless parameters e.g., Da （the Damkoehler number）, α （phase partitioning number）, F （dimensionless absorption number）, and δ （dimensionless Stokes boundary layer number） on dispersion are discussed. In particular, it is found that there exist trinal peaks of the breakthrough curves in some cases.

Robotic versus laparoscopic surgery for sporadic benign insulinoma:Short-and long-term outcomes

Background:Minimally invasive surgery is the optimal treatment for *** present study aimed to compare short-and long-term outcomes of laparoscopic and robotic surgery for sporadic benign ***:A retrospective analysis of patients who underwent laparoscopic or robotic surgery for insulinoma at our center between September 2007 and December 2019 was *** demographic,perioperative and postoperative follow-up results were compared between the laparoscopic and robotic ***:A total of 85 patients were enrolled,including 36 with laparoscopic approach and 49 with robotic *** was the preferred surgical ***-nine patients(69.4%)underwent enucleation;among them,26 and 33 patients underwent laparoscopic and robotic surgery,*** enucleation had a lower conversion rate to laparotomy(0 vs.19.2%,P=0.013),shorter operative time(102.0 vs.145.5 min,P=0.008)and shorter postoperative hospital stay(6.0 vs.8.5 d,P=0.002)than laparoscopic *** were no differences between the groups in terms of intraoperative blood loss,the rates of postoperative pancreatic fistula and *** a median follow-up of 65 months,two patients in the laparoscopic group developed a functional recurrence and none of the patients in the robotic group had a ***:Robotic enucleation can reduce the conversion rate to laparotomy and shorten operative time,which might lead to a reduction in postoperative hospital stay.

Risk factors for brain injury in patients with exertional heatstroke:A 5-year experience
