Oriented attachment of nanocrystals is an important route to constructing epitaxially-connected nanocrystal superlattices for various *** oriented attach me nt of semic on ductor nano crystals,neck can be formed betwee n nan ocrystals and it strongly influe nces the properties of the resulting ***,the neck formation mechanism is poorly ***,we use in situ liquid cell transmission electro n microscopy(TEM)to directly observe the initiatio n and growth of homoepitaxial n ecks betwee n PbSe nano crystals with atomic *** find that neck initiatio n occurs slowly(~10 s)whe n two nano crystals approach to each other within an edge-to-edge dista nee of 0.6 *** neck initiation,Pb and Se atoms defuse from other facets into the gap,forming"dynamic reversible"*** the filament(n eck)width is larger than a critical size of 0.9 nm,it gradually(15 s)widens into a 3-nm-wide n *** atomic structure of the neck is further obtained using ex situ aberration-corrected seanning TEM *** initiation and growth mechanisms are elucidated with density functional theory calculati *** direct unveiling of the atomic pathways of neck formatio n duri ng oriented attach me nt shed light into the fabrication of nanocrystal superlattices with improved structural order and electronic properties.

Defect engineering and Ni promoter synergistically accelerating electron transfer to Ru^(0) sites in UiO-66(Ce) for dicyclopentadiene hydrogenation under mild condition

Olefin hydrogenation under mild condition is crucial and challenging for industrial applications. Herein, defective UiO-66(Ce) was constructed by using cyanuric acid as the molecular etching “scissors” and further to synthesize heterogeneous catalyst with highly dispersed RuNi nanoparticles (Ru1Ni1.5@UiO-66(Ce)-12 h). The construction of Ce-O-Ru/Ni heterogeneous interfaces and Ni–Ru bonds provide electron transfer channels from Ce-oxo clusters and Ni species to Ru species. Furthermore, the microenvironment and electronic structure of Ru0 active sites were synergistically regulated by adjusting the content of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) defects and Ni promoter, thereby enhancing the adsorption and activation ability of H–H and C=C bonds. Therefore, Ru1Ni1.5@UiO-66(Ce)-12 h achieved dicyclopentadiene saturated hydrogenation (100% conversion) to tetrahydrodicyclopentadiene (∼ 100% selectivity) under mild condition (35℃, 1 MPa) with only 25 min. Meanwhile, the sample exhibited excellent structural stability after 6 cycles test. This study provides a promising strategy for the rational design of remarkable noble metal-based catalysts for practical applications.

Ribosomopathies encompass a spectrum of disorders arising from impaired ribosome biogenesis and reduced *** or dysexpression of the genes that disturb any finely regulated steps of ribosome biogenesis can result in different types of ribosomopathies in clinic,collectively known as ribosomopathy *** data suggest that ribosomopathy patients exhibit a significantly heightened susceptibility to *** ribosome biogenesis and dysregulation of some ribosomopathy genes have also been found to be intimately associated with cancer *** correlation between ribosome biogenesis or ribosomopathy and the development of malignancies has been well *** work aims to review the recent advances in the research of ribosomopathy genes among human cancers and meanwhile,to excavate the potential role of these genes,which have not or rarely been reported in cancer,in the disease development across *** plan to establish a theoretical framework between the ribosomopathy gene and cancer development,to further facilitate the potential of these genes as diagnostic biomarker as well as pharmaceutical targets for cancer treatment.

Association of Red Meat Usual Intake with Serum Ferritin and the Risk of Metabolic Syndrome in Chinese Adults: A Longitudinal Study from the China Health and Nutrition Survey

Objective The present study aimed to investigate the association of red meat usual intake with metabolic syndrome(Met S),and explore the contribution of red meat usual intake to serum *** Based on the data from the longitudinal China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS),2,797 healthy adults aged 18–75 years without hypertension,diabetes,and Met S were selected in 2009 as subjects and follow-up studies were carried out till *** used the National Cancer Institute(NCI)method to estimate the usual intake of *** logistic regressions were performed to evaluate the association between red meat usual intake and the risk of Met *** regression analysis was used to study the relationship between red meat consumption and serum ferritin *** After adjusting for potential confounders,red meat,and fresh red meat were positively associated with the risk of Met S(RR=1.41,95%CI:1.05–1.90 and RR=1.37,95%CI:1.02–1.85,respectively).These relationships showed increasing trend(P<0.05).The level of serum ferritin increased significantly with the number of Met S components(P<0.05).The quantile regression analysis showed that red meat and fresh red meat usual intake had a significant positive association with serum ferritin levels across the entire conditional serum ferritin distribution(P<0.05).Processed red meat did not exhibit a similar *** Higher red meat usual intake was associated with an increased risk of Met S and elevated serum ferritin levels.

BACKGROUND Primary squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)with sarcomatoid differentiation of the kidney was rarely *** disease is usually related to renal stones,and due to a lack of symptoms and radiological features,patients usually attend the hospital with late stage *** SUMMARY A 54-years-old female presented with left flank pain and an abdominal mass for 6 *** studies revealed that the left kidney was enlarged and massive hydronephrosis was present.A stone was seen in the ureteropelvic *** patient subsequently underwent left radical nephrectomy,and histopathological examination of the mass revealed a poorly differentiated renal SCC with sarcomatoid *** primary surgery,the patient received four cycles of *** months later,the patient developed adrenal,lymph,and uterine appendage *** SCC of the kidney has a poor prognosis,and should be considered in patients with a renal mass,long-standing urinary calculi and massive hydronephrosis.

PMSE dependence on frequency observed simultaneously with VHF and UHF radars in the presence of precipitation

Using PMSE （polar mesosphere summer echoes） observations in combination with particle flux measurements obtained with detectors onboard the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite （GOES） a special condition is shown for the occurrence of rare observed UHF PMSE. When electron flux observed from GOES satellites show a decrease, then after being in the presence of precipitation UHF PMSE occurs. The heating effect on PMSE is small when the UHF electron density is enhanced at 90 km due to particle precipitation. We analyzed and compared the frequency dependence of PMSE under the condition of high energy particle precipitation in July of 2004 and 2007 at well separated frequencies （224 and 930 MHz） at the same site, height, and time. The frequency index varies with height and time. At different heights, the maximum as well as the minimum value of volume reflectivity at VHF is greater than that at UHF with 2 to 3 orders of magnitude. A new qualitative method for the analysis of dust distribution is used by analyzing the relationship between volume reflectivity and frequency index. In agreement with the results of the model it is shown that dust particles of smaller size generally did not occur at the edges, instead they occurred in the middle PMSE regions.

A phytochemical investigation on the seeds of Sophora alopecuroides led to obtaining fourteen structurally diverse matrine-based alkaloids(1-14),including eight new ones(1,6,8-12,14).Notably,alopecuroide F(1)represents the first dimeric matrine-type skeleton assembled via unprecedent C-13-C-12'*** new structures were determined through extensive spectroscopic data(UV,OR,HRESIMS,1D,and 2D NMR),ECD calculations,and three instances,verified by X-ray ***,all alkaloids were evaluated for cytotoxicity against four human cancer cell lines(HepG2,A549,THP-1,and MCF-7)and anti-inflammatory activities for two pro-inflammatory cytokines(TNF-αand IL-6).Alopecuroide F(1)can inhibit TNF-αand IL-6 productions in a dose-dependent manner with IC50 values of 35.6±0.5 and 41.7±0.8μmol/L,respectively.

Synchronous occurrence of a hepatic myelolipoma and two hepatocellular carcinomas

Myelolipoma is a rare tumor composed of fat and bone marrow components, most of which are located in the adrenal gland. Myelolipoma in the liver is extremely rare. To date, only 10 cases have been reported in the English-language medical literature. In one of these cases, the hepatic myelolipoma was found within a hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). In the present study, we report the first case of the synchronous occurrence of hepatic myelolipoma and HCCs in different liver sections of one patient, a 26-year-old female who was admitted to our hospital because of a 4-d history of upper abdominal pain. The unenhanced computed tomography(CT) images showed a well-defined lowdensity mass with adipose components in the right liver lobe, 4.2 cm × 4.1 cm in size. Two inhomogeneous low-density masses were found in the left liver lobe, 8.6 cm × 7.7 cm and 2.6 cm × 2.6 cm in size. The masses in both the right and left liver lobes were heterogeneously enhanced in the contrast-enhanced CT images. Based on the results of the imaging examination, the mass in the right liver lobe was preliminarily considered to be a hamartoma, and the two masses in the left liver were preliminarily considered to be HCCs. We performed a right hepatectomy, a left hepatic lobectomy, and a cholecystectomy. Microscopic and immunohistochemical results revealed that the tumor in the right liver lobe was a hepatic myelolipoma, and that the two tumors in the left liver lobe were HCCs.
