Interpretation and characterization of rate of penetration intelligent prediction model

Accurate prediction of the rate of penetration(ROP)is significant for drilling *** the intelligent ROP prediction model based on fully connected neural networks(FNN)outperforms traditional ROP equations and machine learning algorithms,its lack of interpretability undermines its *** study proposes a novel interpretation and characterization method for the FNN ROP prediction model using the Rectified Linear Unit(ReLU)activation *** leveraging the derivative of the ReLU function,the FNN function calculation process is transformed into vector *** FNN model is linearly characterized through further simplification,enabling its interpretation and *** proposed method is applied in ROP prediction scenarios using drilling data from three vertical wells in the Tarim *** results demonstrate that the FNN ROP prediction model with ReLU as the activation function performs exceptionally *** relative activation frequency curve of hidden layer neurons aids in analyzing the overfitting of the FNN ROP model and determining drilling data *** the well sections with similar drilling data,averaging the weight parameters enables linear characterization of the FNN ROP prediction model,leading to the establishment of a corresponding linear representation ***,the quantitative analysis of each feature's influence on ROP facilitates the proposal of drilling parameter optimization schemes for the current well *** established linear characterization equation exhibits high precision,strong stability,and adaptability through the application and validation across multiple well sections.

Relationship between seismic structures and the diverse rupture processes of the 2023 Türkiye earthquake doublet

Recent geodetic and seismological observations of two major earthquakes in southeastern Türkiye in February 2023 have revealed complex rupture initiation,propagation,and segmentation along the East Anatolian Fault Zone(EAFZ)and surrounding ***,the role of upper crust structures along the EAFZ in determining the diverse rupture processes of this earthquake doublet remains *** further investigate this,we employed double-difference location and seismic tomography techniques to determine high-resolution seismic velocities(V_(P),V_(S))and Poisson’s ratio(σ)structures using a multiparameter joint tomographic *** dataset includes 100,833 high-quality source-receiver travel-time pairs of P-and *** find that the unique rupture processes of this earthquake doublet were primarily influenced by contrasting crustal seismic structures and localized geological *** M_(w)7.8 mainshock was initiated within a transitional edge zone characterized by a rigid part(asperity)of the seismogenic zone with sharp contrast variations in rock strength ranging from low to high along the *** comparison,the M_(w)7.6 rupture originated in a ductile belt featuring fluid saturation with low-VP,low-VS,and high-σvalues that extended parallel to the Cardak *** pronounced contrast structures observed along the former rupture can be attributed to the oblique collision system between the weakened section of the east Anatolian plateau and the brittle Arabian platform,while the latter rupture was initiated within the ductile structure associated with fluid intrusion caused by the northward subduction of the Cyprus slab and subsequent ***,the occurrence of the first earthquake(E1)serves to alleviate shear stress on the second earthquake(E2)fault,potentially impeding the initiation of an E2 *** the contrary,this event also significantly reduces the normal stress acting on the E2 fault due to a double left-lateral strike-slip system

Deciphering a Million-Plus RSA Integer with Ultralow Local Field Coefficient h and Coupling Coefficient J of the Ising Model by D-Wave 2000Q

This work is the first to determine that a real quantum computer(including generalized and specialized)can decipher million-scale RSA relying solely on quantum algorithms,showing the real attack potential of D-Wave *** influence of different column widths on RSA factorization results is studied on the basis of a multiplication table,and the optimal column method is determined by traversal *** traversal experiment of integer factorization within 10000 shows that the local field and coupling coefficients are 75%–93%lower than the research of Shanghai University in 2020 and more than 85%lower than that of Purdue University in *** low Ising model parameters are crucial to reducing the hardware requirements,prompting factoring 1245407 on the D-Wave 2000Q real machine.D-Wave advantage already has more than 5000 qubits and will be expanded to 7000 qubits during 2023–2024,with remarkable improvements in decoherence and *** machine is expected to promote the solution of large-scale combinatorial optimization *** of the contributions of this paper is the discussion of the long-term impact of D-Wave on the development of post-quantum cryptography standards.

Molecular Dynamics Simulation Studies on the Micromorphology and Proton Transport of Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) Composite Membrane

The perfluorosulfonic acid(PFSA) membrane doped with two-dimensional conductive filler Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) is a fuel cell proton exchange membrane with high application potential. Experimental studies showed that the proton conductivity of Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) composite membrane is improved significantly compared with that in pure Nafion. However, the microscopic mechanism of doping on the enhancement of membrane performance is remain unclear now. In this work, molecular dynamics simulation was used to investigate the microscopic morphology and proton transport behaviors of Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) composite membrane at the molecular level. The results shown that there were significant differences about the diffusion kinetics of water molecules and hydroxium ions in Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) at low and high hydration levels in the nanoscale *** the increase of water content, Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) in membrane was gradually surrounded by ambient water molecules to form a hydration layer, and forming a relatively continuous proton transport channel between Nafion polymer and Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) monomer. The continuous proton transport channel could increase the number of binding sites of proton and thus achieving high proton conductivity and high mobility of water molecules at higher hydration level. The current work can provide a theoretical guidance for designing new type of Nafion composite membranes.

The low thermal conductivity and light mass of castables for tundish permanent linings are crucial for minimizing the heat loss of molten *** consideration of the low bulk density and thermal conductivity of pearlescent sand,the thermal insulation performance of castables was attempted to be improved by adding pearlescent *** sand was modified to prevent the strength of its porous structure from *** modification mechanism of pearlescent sand and the effect of pearlescent sand on the performance of bauxite castables were *** results suggested that the addition of the modified pearlescent sand significantly raised the apparent porosity and decreased the bulk density of bauxite *** 1000℃,the bulk density of more than 60%of the modified pearlescent sand-bauxite castable was only 2.03 g/cm^(3).The mechanical properties and thermal shock resistance of the modified pearlescent sand-bauxite castable were inferior to those of conventional bauxite castable but were adequate to meet the use conditions of casta-bles for tundish permanent *** high temperatures of 200-800℃,the thermal conductivity of more than 60%of the modified pearlescent sand-bauxite castable was smaller than that of conventional bauxite *** addition of the modified pearlescent sand can greatly reduce the thermal conductivity and bulk density of bauxite castable.

A cascade model of information processing and encoding for retinal prosthesis

Retinal prosthesis offers a potential treatment for individuals suffering from photoreceptor degeneration *** biological retinal models and simulating how the biological retina convert incoming light signal into spike trains that can be properly decoded by the brain is a key *** retinal models have been presented,ranking from structural models inspired by the layered architecture to functional models originated from a set of specific physiological ***,Most of these focus on stimulus image compression,edge detection and reconstruction,but do not generate spike trains corresponding to visual *** this study,based on stateof-the-art retinal physiological mechanism,including effective visual information extraction,static nonlinear rectification of biological systems and neurons Poisson coding,a cascade model of the retina including the out plexiform layer for information processing and the inner plexiform layer for information encoding was brought forward,which integrates both anatomic connections and functional computations of *** MATLAB software,spike trains corresponding to stimulus image were numerically computed by four steps：linear spatiotemporal filtering,static nonlinear rectification,radial sampling and then Poisson spike *** simulated results suggested that such a cascade model could recreate visual information processing and encoding functionalities of the retina,which is helpful in developing artificial retina for the retinally blind.

Role of adaptation measures in addressing heatwave exposure in China

Heatwave exposure has increased dramatically because of climate warming and population growth,along with their interactive ***,effective adaptation measures can reduce these ***,the dynamic changes,regional inequality in adaptive capacity and their potential contributions to reducing exposure in the future remain *** study quantifies the impact of adaptive capacity and underscores regional variations in heatwave magnitudes,population exposure and adaptation levels in *** projected the future adaptive capacity using air-conditioner penetration,factoring in climate cooling requirements and individuals'purchasing *** population and gross domestic product(GDP)data from four Shared Socioeconomic Pathways(SSP1,SSP2,SSP3 and SSP5)and daily temperature data from four SSP-based emission scenarios(SSP1-2.6,SSP2-4.5,SSP3-7.0 and SSP5-8.5),we estimated heatwave duration,population exposure and avoided impacts through adaptation across China and its *** show a substantial increase in heatwave duration in Southwest and Southern China,especially under the SSP5-8.5 scenario,with a projection of 163.2±36.7 d during *** the SSP3|SSP3-7.0 scenario,total exposure reaches 156.4±76.8 billion person d per year,which is the highest among all scenarios and 23 times greater than that in 1986-2005 without *** considering adaptation measures,a noteworthy reduction in population exposure is observed,especially in the SSP3|SSP3-7.0 and SSP5JSSP5-8.5 scenarios,with reductions of(62.6±3.9)%and(65.8±5.1)%,respectively,compared with the scenario without adaptation during *** regional disparities in avoided impacts are also evident,with variations of up to 50%across different *** implementation of effective and environmentally friendly adaptation measures can notably address climate change,thereby alleviating the profound threats posed to human well-being.

High electro-optical conversion efficiency is one of the most distinctive features of semiconductor lasers as compared to other types of *** further increase remains a significant *** enhancing the efficiency of edgeemitting lasers(EEL),which represent the highest efficiency among semiconductor lasers at present,is *** efficiency of vertical cavity surface emitting lasers(VCSELs)has always been relatively low compared to *** paper,combining modeling with experiments,demonstrates the potential of multi-junction cascaded VCSELs to achieve high efficiency beyond that of EELs,our simulations show,that a 20-junction VCSEL can achieve an efficiency of more than 88%at room *** fabricated VCSEL devices with different numbers of junctions and compared their energy efficiency.15-junction VCSELs achieved a maximum efficiency of 74%at room temperature under nanosecond driving current,the corresponding differential quantum efficiency exceeds 1100%,being the largest electro-optical conversion efficiency and differential quantum efficiency reported until now for VCSELs.

Pulsar search is always the basis of pulsar navigation,gravitational wave detection and other research ***,the volume of pulsar candidates collected by the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST)shows an explosive growth rate that has brought challenges for its pulsar candidate filtering ***,the multi-view heterogeneous data and class imbalance between true pulsars and non-pulsar candidates have negative effects on traditional single-modal supervised classification *** this study,a multi-modal and semi-supervised learning based on a pulsar candidate sifting algorithm is presented,which adopts a hybrid ensemble clustering scheme of density-based and partition-based methods combined with a feature-level fusion strategy for input data and a data partition strategy for *** on both High Time Resolution Universe SurveyⅡ(HTRU2)and actual FAST observation data demonstrate that the proposed algorithm could excellently identify pulsars:On HTRU2,the precision and recall rates of its parallel mode reach0.981 and 0.988 *** FAST data,those of its parallel mode reach 0.891 and 0.961,meanwhile,the running time also significantly decreases with the increment of parallel nodes within ***,we can conclude that our algorithm could be a feasible idea for large scale pulsar candidate sifting for FAST drift scan observation.
