Optimizing magnetoelastic properties by machine learning and high-throughput micromagnetic simulation

Magnetoelastic couplings in giant magnetostrictive materials(GMMs)attract significant interests due to their extensive applications in the fields of spintronics and energy harvesting *** the role of the selection of materials and the response to external fields is essential for attaining desired functionality of a ***,machine learning(ML)models are conducted to predict saturation magnetostrictions(λ_(s))in RFe_(2)-type(R=rare earth)GMMs with different *** to ML-predicted composition–λsrelations,it is discovered that the values ofλshigher than1100×10^(-6)are almost situated in the composition space surrounded by 0.26≤x≤0.60 and 1.90≤y≤2.00 for the ternary compounds of Tb_(x)Dy_(1-x)Fe_(y).Assisted by ML predictions,the compositions are further narrowed down to the space surrounded by 0.26≤x≤0.32 and 1.92≤y≤1.97 for the excellent piezomagnetic(PM)performance in the Tb_(x)Dy_(1-x)Fe_(y)based PM device through our developed high-throughput(HTP)micromagnetic simulation(MMS)***,high sensitivities up to10.22-13.61 m T·MPa^(-1)are observed in the optimized range within which the available experimental data fall *** work not only provides valuable insights toward understanding the mechanism of magnetoelastic couplings,but also paves the way for designing and optimizing highperformance magnetostrictive materials and PM sensing devices.

Rare earth giant magnetostrictive materials(GMMs)Tb_(1-x)Dy_(x)Fe_(2±δ)(Tb-Dy-Fe)have been successfully employed in many microelectromechanical devices due to their excellent magnetostrictive properties at room ***,Tb-Dy-Fe still shows a relatively large coercivity with high hysteresis,which inevitably limits its application ***,micromagnetic simulations are performed to investigate the size effect of precipitated phase(α-Fe)on coercivity in *** results demonstrate that the coercivity is reduced from 31.46 to 12.48 mT with increasing the size ofα-Fe from 4 to 50 nm in Tb-Dy-Fe since the precipitated phase ofα-Fe can act as a magnetization reversal *** decreasing trend of coercivity can be well fitted with an inverse square relationship,which agrees well with the nucleation *** study highlights that the coercivity of Tb-Dy-Fe can be tailored by tuning the size ofα-Fe precipitation.

The barocaloric effect(BCE)is a promising alternative to traditional vapor compressing refrigeration because of its environmentally friendly impact and high energy ***,the driving hydrostatic pressure for most BCE materials is relatively high,which is not conducive to practical *** this paper,we report that the large barocaloric entropy change of MnAs_(0.94)Sb_(0.06)alloy can be induced by low hydrostatic *** phase transition temperature is strongly sensitive to the applied pressure,resulting in a large barocaloric coefficient of 134 K·GPa^(-1)on cooling and 126 K·GPa^(-1)on *** maximum barocaloric entropy change and adiabatic temperaturechange resulted from hydrostatic pressure of 40 MPa reach up to 26.3 J·kg^(-1)·K^(-1)and 14.4 K,respectively,showing an excellent barocaloric *** results demonstrate that the MnAs_(0.94)Sb_(0.06)alloy is a promising alternative for BCE refrigeration.

Investigating the elliptic anisotropy of identified particles in p-Pb collisions with a multi-phase transport model

The elliptic azimuthal anisotropy coefficient(v_(2))of the identified particles at midrapidity(|η|<0.8)was investigated in p-Pb collisions at√s_(NN)=5.02 TeV using a multi-phase transport model(AMPT).The calculations of differential v_(2)based on the advanced flow extraction method of light flavor hadrons(pions,kaons,protons,andΛ)in small collision systems were extended to a wider transverse momentum(p_(T))range of up to 8 GeV/c for the first *** string-melting version of the AMPT model provides a good description of the measured p_(T)-differential v_(2)of the mesons but exhibits a slight deviation from the baryon v_(2).In addition,we observed the features of mass ordering at low p_(T)and the approximate number-of-constituentquark(NCQ)scaling at intermediate p_(T).Moreover,we demonstrate that hadronic rescattering does not have a significant impact on v_(2)in p-Pb collisions for different centrality selections,whereas partonic scattering dominates in generating the elliptic anisotropy of the final *** study provides further insight into the origin of collective-like behavior in small collision systems and has referential value for future measurements of azimuthal anisotropy.

BASIC HYDRODYNAMICS CHARACTERISTICS OF CAVITY SPIRAL FLOW IN A LARGE SIZE LEVEL PIPE

Based on the observation of a model test and in combination with some theoretical analysis, the researches of some basic hydrodynamics characteristics of cavity spiral flow in a large size level pipe with a shaft-inlet is presented in the paper, which include the basic flow pattern, formation condition of the cavity spiral flow, discharge Q, cavity diameter d0, wall pressure coefficient Cpw, velocity distribution, total energy dissipation rate η etc. The results show that the basic flow patterns can be divided into three zones according to the variations in amount of ventilation Ф, cavity diameter d0 and gas pressure p0 within cavity spiral flow when the upstream and downstream water level changes and that the basic hydrodynamics characteristics change with the flow pattern and have the different behaviour.

BACKGROUND Gastric signet ring cell carcinoma(GSRC)represents a specific subtype of gastric cancer renowned for its contentious epidemiological features,treatment principles,and prognostic *** To investigate the epidemiology of GSRC and establish an improved model for predicting the prognosis of patients with locally advanced GSRC(LAGSRC)after *** The annual rates of GSRC incidence and mortality,covering the years 1975 to 2019,were extracted from the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results(SEER)database to explore the temporal trends in both disease incidence and mortality rates using Joinpoint *** clinical data of 3793 postoperative LAGSRC patients were collected from the SEER database for the analysis of survival *** Cox regression model was used to explore the independent prognostic factors for overall survival(OS).The risk factors extracted were used to establish a prognostic *** The overall incidence of GSRC increased dramatically between 1975 and 1998,followed by a significant downward trend in incidence after *** recent years,there has been a similarly optimistic trend in GSRC mortality *** trend in GSRC showed discrepancies based on age and *** operating characteristic curves,calibration curves,and decision curve analysis for 1-year,3-year,and 5-year OS demonstrated the high discriminative ability and clinical utility of this *** area under the curve indicated that the performance of the new model outperformed that of the pathological staging *** The model we established can aid clinicians in the early prognostication of LAGSRC patients,resulting in improved clinical outcomes by modifying management strategies and patient health care.

Applications of mercury stable isotopes for tracing volcanism in the geologic record

Mercury(Hg)enrichments in ancient sediments have been used as a proxy of volcanism,especially large igneous province(LIP)***,considering the existence of other potential Hg sources besides volcanoes and the diverse factors(e.g.,organic matters,clay minerals,sulfide minerals and Fe oxides)that can affect Hg sequestration,there are considerable uncertainties to simply regard sedimentary Hg anomalies as signatures of volcanic *** stable isotopes,a promising tool for tracing the origins and transformations of Hg,have been increasingly used for determining the causes of Hg spikes and understanding the geochemical behavior of Hg in the geologic *** date,lots of researches have applied Hg concentrations and Hg isotopes to identify LIP volcanisms linking with significant geological events such as mass extinctions,ocean anoxic events and other environmental perturbations that mainly occurred in the ***,the results in previous studies clearly show that not all Hg enrichments are derived from volcanic inputs,which emphasize the need for more caution in using Hg as a fingerprint of *** a better understanding of Hg isotopes in the future,there will be important implications for Hg isotopes to reconstruct volcanic activities in the rock records and their impacts on biological evolution.

Spatiotemporal Prediction of Urban Traffics Based on Deep GNN

Traffic prediction already plays a significant role in applications like traffic planning and urban management,but it is still difficult to capture the highly non-linear and complicated spatiotemporal correlations of traffic *** well as to fulfil both long-termand short-termprediction objectives,a better representation of the temporal dependency and global spatial correlation of traffic data is *** order to do this,the Spatiotemporal Graph Neural Network(S-GNN)is proposed in this research as amethod for traffic *** S-GNN simultaneously accepts various traffic data as inputs and investigates the non-linear correlations between the *** terms of modelling,the road network is initially represented as a spatiotemporal directed graph,with the features of the samples at the time step being captured by a convolution *** order to assign varying attention weights to various adjacent area nodes of the target node,the adjacent areas information of nodes in the road network is then aggregated using a graph *** data is output using a fully connected layer at the *** findings show that S-GNN can improve short-and long-term traffic prediction accuracy to a greater extent;in comparison to the control model,the RMSE of S-GNN is reduced by about 0.571 to 9.288 and the MAE(Mean Absolute Error)by about 0.314 to *** experimental results on two real datasets,Pe MSD7(M)and PEMS-BAY,also support this claim.

Fluorescent carbon dots synthesized in solid phase and air for application in LEDs

Carbon dots(CDs)have been widely adopted as optical materials because of their excellent luminescent ***,most of the reported synthetic methods are conducted in solvents,especially hydrothermal/solvothermal reactions,leading to intractable problems such as toxic and flammable solvents,complex and inseparable by-products,and dangerously high pressures and ***-phase synthesis of CDs in air is an effective solution to overcome the above issues,but solid reactions always result in uncontrolled growth and agglomeration of *** this study,some inorganic salts are selected as catalysts for synthesizing CDs in solid states and air,which also play as dispersants to hinder CDs *** the meantime,some aromatic derivatives containing hydroxyl and amino groups are chosen as carbon sources,ground with the optimized catalyst,and then heated together in *** production yields are affected by the reaction time and reactant ratio,while the graphitization degrees of the CDs are determined by the reaction *** IG/ID value of their Raman spectra increases from 0.59 to 0.85,and the particle size decreases from 2.5 to 1.4 nm when the synthesis temperature is increased from 200 to 280℃.The as-prepared CDs show emission peaks ranging from 366 to 606 nm,with the photoluminescence(PL)quantum yield up to 53%.Their emission color variation mainly results from different carbon sources,which can be ascribed to the differences in the element composition,functional groups,and graphitic nitrogen content of these *** dispersing CDs of different concentrations into polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and combining them with blue LEDs,cold,standard,and warm white light emitting devices(WLEDs)are prepared,with a color rendering index(CRI)up to *** the as-prepared CDs have antioxidant ability at high temperature,the as-prepared WLEDs have long lifespans,remaining the effective white luminescence after 72 h continuous work.
