Fracture geometry and breakdown pressure of radial borehole fracturing in multiple layers

Radial borehole fracturing that combines radial boreholes with hydraulic fracturing is anticipated to improve the output of tight oil and gas *** paper aims to investigate fracture propagation and pressure characteristics of radial borehole fracturing in multiple layers.A series of laboratory experiments with artificial rock samples(395 mm×395 mm×395 mm)was conducted using a true triaxial fracturing *** crucial factors corresponding to the vertical distance of adjacent radial borehole layers(vertical distance),the azimuth and diameter of the radial borehole are *** results show that radial borehole fracturing in multiple layers generates diverse fracture *** types of fractures are identified based on the connectivity between hydraulic fractures and radial *** vertical distance significantly influences fracture propagation perpendicular to the radial borehole *** increase in the vertical distance impedes fracture connection across multiple radial borehole layers and reduces the fracture propagation distance along the radial borehole *** azimuth also influences fracture propagation along the radial borehole *** the azimuth reduces the guiding ability of radial boreholes,which makes the fracture quickly curve to the maximum horizontal stress *** breakdown pressure correlates with diverse fracture geometries *** the fractures connect multi-layer radial boreholes,increasing the vertical distance decreases the breakdown *** the azimuth and increasing the diameter also decrease the breakdown *** extrusion force exists between the adjacent fractures generated in radial boreholes in multiple rows,which plays a crucial role in enhancing the guiding ability of radial boreholes and results in higher breakdown *** research provides valuable theoretical insights for the field application of radial borehole fracturing technology in tight oil and g

Adsorption behavior of CO2/H2S mixtures in calcite slit nanopores for CO2 storage:An insight from molecular perspective

It is acknowledged that injecting CO2into oil reservoirs and saline aquifers for storage is a practical and affordable method for *** CO2produced from industrial exhaust contains impurity gases such as H2S that might impact CO2sequestration due to competitive *** study makes a commendable effort to explore the adsorption behavior of CO2/H2S mixtures in calcite slit *** Canonical Monte Carlo（GCMC） simulation is employed to reveal the adsorption of CO2,H2S as well as their binary mixtures in calcite *** show that the increase in pressure and temperature can promote and inhibit the adsorption capacity of CO2and H2S in calcite nanopores,***2exhibits stronger adsorption on calcite surface than *** energy plays the dominating role in the adsorption *** energy accounts for 97.11% of the CO2-calcite interaction energy and 56.33% of the H2S-calcite interaction energy at 10 MPa and 323.15 *** presence of H2S inhibits the CO2adsorption in calcite nanopores due to competitive adsorption,and a higher mole fraction of H2S leads to less *** quantity of CO2adsorbed is lessened by approximately 33% when the mole fraction of H2S reaches ***2molecules preferentially occupy the regions near the po re wall and H2S molecules tend to reside at the center of nanopore even when the molar ratio of CO2is low,indicating that CO2has an adsorption priority on the calcite surface over *** addition,moisture can weaken the adsorption of both CO2and H2S,while CO2is more *** interestingly,we find that pure CO2is more suitable to be sequestrated in the shallower formations,i.e.,500-1500 m,whereas CO2with H2S impurity should be settled in the deeper reservoirs.

In nature, aflatoxins, especially aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), are the common mycotoxins, which cause serious health problems for humans and animals. This paper aimed to study the effects of AFB1 on flesh flavor and muscle development of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) and its mechanism. There were 1440 individual fish in total, with 6 treatments and each treatment replicated 3 times. The 6 treatments were fed a control diet with different doses of AFB1 (0.04, 29.48, 58.66, 85.94, 110.43 and 146.92 mu g/kg diet) for 60 d. AFB1 increased myofiber diameter, as well as decreased myofiber density of grass carp muscle (P malonaldehyde and protein carbonyl (PC) were increased (P mads signaling pathway in grass carp muscle (P matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) were increased (P maPK), phosphorylate-c-Jun N-terminal kinase, urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA), MMP-2 and MMP-9 were upregulated (P < 0.05), but collagen I, laminin beta 1 and fibronectin were downregulated (P < 0.05) with the dietary AFB1 increased in the muscle of grass carp. A comprehensive health risk assessment of PM_(2.5)is meaningful to understand the current status and directions regarding further improving air quality from the perspective of human *** this study,we evaluated the health risks of PM_(2.5)as well as highly toxic inorganic components,including heavy metals(HMs)and black carbon(BC)based on longterm observations in Beijing from 2019 to *** results showed that the relative risks of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,lung cancer,acute lower respiratory tract infection,ischemic heart disease,and stroke decreased by 4.07%-9.30%in 2020 and 2.12%-6.70%in2021 compared with ***,they were still at high levels ranging from 1.26 to 1.77,in particular,stroke showed the highest value in *** had the highest hazard quotient(HQ,from 2.18 to 2.56)for adults from 2019 to 2021,while Ni,Cr,Pb,As,and BC showed high carcinogenic risks(CR>1.0×10^(-6))for *** HQ values of Mn and As and the CR values of Pb and As showed constant or slight upwards trends during our observations,which is in contrast to the downward trends of other HMs and PM_(2.5).Mn,Cr,and BC are crucial toxicants in PM_(2.5).A significant shrink of southern region sourcesof HMs and BCshrank suggests the increased importance of local ***,dust,and biomass burning are the major contributors to the non-carcinogenic risks,while traffic emissions and industry are the dominant contributors to the carcinogenic risks in Beijing.

By employing a new semi-rigid pyrazole-amide-derived bis(pyridyl)ligand[N,N'-bis(4-picolylamine)-1-hydropyrazole(4-dpap)],a new homopolymolybdate-based two-dimensional(2D)plate-like complex[Co(4-dpap)(H_(2)O)(β-Mo_(8)O_(2)6)1/2](1)has been prepared under solvothermal condition and structurally ***β-Mo_(8)anions are fi xed between the 2D metal–organic networks[Co(4-dpap)(H_(2)O)]n 2n+via hydrogen-bonding *** 1 possesses satisfactory specifi c capacitance of 1512.4 F·g^(−1)(current density:1 A·g^(−1))and good cycling stability(90.8%after 1000 cycles).Moreover,1 represents a promising amperometric sensor for measurement of Cr(Ⅵ)with low detection limit(0.042μmol·L^(−1))and high *** insertion ofβ-Mo_(8)anions between the unique 2D metal−organic networks improves the active area of polyoxometalates,which further promotes electrochemical performance.

Fe/S oxidation-coupled arsenic speciation transformation mediated by AMD enrichment culture under different pH conditions

Arsenic(As)speciation transformation in acid mine drainage(AMD)is comprehensively affected by biological and abiotic factors,such as microbially mediated Fe/S redox reactions and changes in environmental conditions(pH and oxidation-reduction potential).However,their combined impacts on arsenic speciation transformation remain poorly ***,we explored arsenic transformation and immobilization during pyrite dissolution mediated by AMD enrichment culture under different acidic pH *** results for incubation and mineralogical transformation of solid residues show that in the presence of AMD enrichment culture,pH 2.0,2.5,and 3.0 are more conducive to the formation of jarosites and ferric arsenate,which could immobilize high quantities of dissolved arsenic by adsorption and *** pH conditions significantly affect the initial adsorption of microbial cells to the minerals and the evolution of microbial community structure,further infuencing the biodissolution of pyrite and the release and oxidation process of Fe/*** results of Fe/S/As speciation transformation of the solid residues show that the transformation of Fe,S,and As in solution is mainly regulated by pH and potential values,which imposed significantly different effects on the formation of secondary minerals and thus arsenic oxidation and *** above results indicated that arsenic transformation is closely related to the Fe/S oxidation associated with pyrite bio-oxidation,and this correlation is critically regulated by the pH conditions of the system.

Wettability and corrosion behavior between alkaline slag from sodium smelting of vanadium-titanium magnetite and refractory substrates
