Utilizing a metal-forging inspired chain combing strategy to enhance properties and expand applications of Nylon 66 plastic via heat inducing

The mechanical properties of engineering plastics can be enhanced through effective surface mechanical treatment(SMT),which can be applied to various types of engineering plastics,eliminating the limitations of conventional polymer processing and could potentially extend their applications and improve their performance and reliability as structural-functional *** by metal forging,this work proposes a simple and effective SMT strategy to enhance the mechanical properties of polyamide 66(PA66).Tensile tests have shown that SMTed PA66 samples exhibit significant improvements in both Young’s modulus and ultimate tensile strength(UTS),with a 2104 MPa Young’s modulus,almost double that of the pristine samples,and a 35.56%increase in UTS,reaching 183 ***,the modulus within the localized SMTed surface layer could reach up to 14 GPa,which is approximately 14 times higher than that of the pristine *** Vickers hardness within the localized SMTed surface layer can be doubled,reaching 10.72 Hv,and the crystallinity can increase by approximately 20%compared to the untreated ***,force field molecular dynamics(FFMD)simulations were conducted to investigate the ternary relationship between the SMT method,PA66’s molecular structure,and its *** combination of MD simulations and versatile structural characterizations provides evidence that the SMT method’s mechanism,under heat induction,results in a chain-combing procedure that changes the polymer’s molecular morphology microscopically and enhances its mechanical properties macroscopically.

Evolution of microstructure and texture of AZ80 magnesium alloy under hot torsion with constant decreasing temperature rate

Hot torsion tests for AZ80 magnesium alloy were carried out in the temperature range of 380℃-260℃,with a constant decreasing temperature rate of 10℃/s in order to weaken the basal texture and refine the *** results indicated that the average grain sizes were refined forming gradient structure with increasing specimen radial position from center(12.2-5.4μm),and that the initial basal texture intensity of the extruded magnesium alloy was weakened from 46.2 to ***,the extension twins(ETs)could be disintegrated from the twins forming separated twins with smaller ***,ETs with the same twin variant intersecting with each other could be coalesced forming grains with similar orientation,while ETs with different twin variants were separated by twins boundaries contributing to grain ***,in addition to the conventional continuous dynamic recrystallized(CDRX)grains with 30˚orientation rotated around C-axis of the parent grains,CDRXed grains with 30˚rotation around a-axis and random rotation axis were also ***,the CDRX evolution induced twins were also elaborated,exhibiting the complex competition between CDRX and *** torsion deformation with constant decreasing temperatures rate is an effective way of grain refinement and texture modification.

A Systemic Review of Autologous Fat Grafting Survival Rate and Related Severe Complications

Objective：Clinical application ofautologous fat grafting （AFG） is quickly *** the widely acceptance,long-term survival rate （SR） of AFG remains a question not yet ***,although rare,severe complications related to AFG including vision loss,stroke even death could be seen in the *** Sources：A comprehensive research of PubMed database to June 2013 was performed according to guidelines of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Fat Graft Task Force Assessment *** were screened using predetermined inclusion and exclusion *** Selection：Data collected included patient characteristics,surgical technique,donor site,recipient site,graft amount,and quantified measurement *** cohorts were pooled,and SR was *** the severe complications were also summarized according to the different clinical ***：Of 550 articles,16 clinical articles and 10 animal studies met the inclusion criteria and provided quantified measurement ***,596 patients were *** varied from 34％ to 82％ in breast and 30-83％ in the facial *** mice were applied to investigate human fat grafting SR （38.3-52.5％ after 15 weeks）.Rabbits were commonly used to study animal AFG SR （14.00-14.56％ after 1-year）.Totally,21 severe complications were reported,including death （2）,stroke （10）,vision loss （11,8 of which accompanied with stroke）,sepsis （3）,multiple abscess （1） and giant fat necrotic cyst （2）.Ten of these complications happened within 10 ***：There is no unified measurement method to evaluate fat graft SR until now and no clinical evidence to show better SR according to different donor and recipient *** mass index change between pre-and postoperation may be the bias factor in evaluating fat *** embolisms of the ophthalmic artery and the middle cerebral artery are the most severe complication of AFG and still lack of effective treatment.

Effect of Vacancy Defects on the Properties of CoS_(2) and FeS_(2)

In order to explore the effect of vacancy defects on the structural,electronic,magnetic and optical properties of CoS_(2) and FeS_(2),first-principles calculation method was used to investigate the *** calculated results of materials without vacancy are consistent with those reported in the literatures,while the results of materials with vacancy defect were different from those of literatures due to the difference vacancy *** Co vacancy defect hardly changes the half-metallic characteristic of CoS_(2).The Fe vacancy defect changes FeS_(2) from semiconductor to half-metal,and the bottom of the spin-down conduction band changes from the p orbital state of S to the d(t_(2g))orbital state of Fe,while the top of the valence band remains the d orbital d(eg)state of *** half-metallic Co vacancy defects of CoS_(2) and Fe vacancy defects of FeS_(2) are expected to be used in spintronic devices.S vacancy defects make both CoS_(2) and FeS_(2) *** the Co and S vacancy defects lead to the decrease of the magnetic moment of CoS_(2),while both the Fe and S vacancy defects lead to the obvious magnetic property of FeS_(2).Vacancy defects enhance the absorption coefficient of infrared band and long band of visible light obviously,and produce obvious red shift phenomenon,which is expected to be used in photoelectric devices.

Chirality transformation is a basic,attractive,and important strategy for obtaining enantioenriched products with desired chiral *** reported chirality conversion reaction often involves the process from one type of chirality to another *** better utilize the chirality transformation strategy for obtaining two or more products with different chiral elements in a single reaction,a new method of kinetic resolution accompanied by a chirality transformation protocol is proposed and successfully realized in this *** process is used for the asymmetric oxidation of phenol compounds along with the kinetic resolution of oxaziridines.A wide scope of products,including axially chiral phenols,oxaziridines,andα-hydroxyl cyclic ketones were smoothly obtained in high levels of yields and enantioselectivities in the developed *** products can be readily used for the synthesis of various types of chiral ligands,which are potential choices for other catalytic asymmetric reactions.

Thermal insulation materials play an increasingly important role in protecting mechanical parts functioning at high *** this study,a new porous high-entropy(La_(1/6)Ce_(1/6)Pr_(1/6)Sm_(1/6)Eu_(1/6)Gd_(1/6))PO_(4)(HE(6RE_(1/6))PO_(4))ceramics was prepared by combining the high-entropy method with the pore-forming agent method and the effect of different starch contents(0–60vol%)on this ceramic properties was systematically *** results show that the porous HE(6RE_(1/6))PO_(4)ceramics with 60vol%starch exhibit the lowest thermal conductivity of 0.061 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)at room temperature and good pore structure stability with a linear shrinkage of approximately1.67%.Moreover,the effect of large regular spherical pores(>10μm)on its thermal insulation performance was discussed,and an optimal thermal conductivity prediction model was *** superior properties of the prepared porous HE(6RE_(1/6))PO_(4)ceramics allow them to be promising insulation materials in the future.

Facet-dependent activation of oxalic acid over hematite nanocrystals under the irradiation of visible light for efficient degradation of pollutants

Naturally occurring hematite has been widely studied in the Fenton-like system for water pollutant remediation due to its abundance and ***,its inadequate catalytic activity results in difficulty in effectively degrading pollutants in the catalytic degradation system that it ***,we constructed a photochemical system composed of hematite with{001}facet of high activity facet and low-cost and non-toxic oxalic acid(OA)for the removal of various types of *** removal rate for the degradation of metronidazole,tetracycline hydrochloride,Rhodamine B,and hexavalent chromium by hematite nanoplate with the exposed{001}facet activating OA under visible light irradiation was 4.75,2.25,2.33,and 2.74 times than that by the exposed{110}facet,*** functional theory(DFT)calculation proved that the OA molecule was more easily adsorbed on the{001}facet of hematite than that on the{110}facet,which would favor the formation of the more Fe(Ⅲ)-OA complex and reactive *** addition,the reactive site of metronidazole for the attraction of radicals was identified on the basis of the DFT calculation on the molecular occupied orbitals,and the possible degradation pathway for metronidazole included carbon chain fracture,hydroxyethyl-cleavage,denitrogenation,and ***,this finding may offer a valuable direction in designing an efficient iron-based catalyst based on facet engineering for the improved activity of Fenton-like systems such as OA activation.

A Two-Layer Encoding Learning Swarm Optimizer Based on Frequent Itemsets for Sparse Large-Scale Multi-Objective Optimization

Microscopic defects formation and dynamic mechanical response analysis of Q345 steel plate subjected to explosive load

As the basic protective element, steel plate had attracted world-wide attention because of frequent threats of explosive loads. This paper reports the relationships between microscopic defects of Q345 steel plate under the explosive load and its macroscopic dynamics simulation. Firstly, the defect characteristics of the steel plate were investigated by stereoscopic microscope(SM) and scanning electron microscope(SEM). At the macroscopic level, the defect was the formation of cave which was concentrated in the range of 0-3.0 cm from the explosion center, while at the microscopic level, the cavity and void formation were the typical damage characteristics. It also explains that the difference in defect morphology at different positions was the combining results of high temperature and high pressure. Secondly, the variation rules of mechanical properties of steel plate under explosive load were studied. The Arbitrary Lagrange-Euler(ALE) algorithm and multi-material fluid-structure coupling method were used to simulate the explosion process of steel plate. The accuracy of the method was verified by comparing the deformation of the simulation results with the experimental results, the pressure and stress at different positions on the surface of the steel plate were obtained. The simulation results indicated that the critical pressure causing the plate defects may be approximately 2.01 GPa. On this basis, it was found that the variation rules of surface pressure and microscopic defect area of the Q345 steel plate were strikingly similar, and the corresponding mathematical relationship between them was established. Compared with Monomolecular growth fitting models(MGFM) and Logistic fitting models(LFM), the relationship can be better expressed by cubic polynomial fitting model(CPFM). This paper illustrated that the explosive defect characteristics of metal plate at the microscopic level can be explored by analyzing its macroscopic dynamic mechanical response.

A hierarchical enhanced data-driven battery pack capacity estimation framework for real-world operating conditions with fewer labeled data

Battery pack capacity estimation under real-world operating conditions is important for battery performance optimization and health management,contributing to the reliability and longevity of batterypowered ***,complex operating conditions,coupling cell-to-cell inconsistency,and limited labeled data pose great challenges to accurate and robust battery pack capacity *** address these issues,this paper proposes a hierarchical data-driven framework aimed at enhancing the training of machine learning models with fewer labeled *** traditional data-driven methods that lack interpretability,the hierarchical data-driven framework unveils the“mechanism”of the black box inside the data-driven framework by splitting the final estimation target into cell-level and pack-level intermediate targets.A generalized feature matrix is devised without requiring all cell voltages,significantly reducing the computational cost and memory *** generated intermediate target labels and the corresponding features are hierarchically employed to enhance the training of two machine learning models,effectively alleviating the difficulty of learning the relationship from all features due to fewer labeled data and addressing the dilemma of requiring extensive labeled data for accurate *** only 10%of degradation data,the proposed framework outperforms the state-of-the-art battery pack capacity estimation methods,achieving mean absolute percentage errors of 0.608%,0.601%,and 1.128%for three battery packs whose degradation load profiles represent real-world operating *** high accuracy,adaptability,and robustness indicate the potential in different application scenarios,which is promising for reducing laborious and expensive aging experiments at the pack level and facilitating the development of battery technology.
