Soil erosion by snow or ice melt waterflow is an important type of soil erosion in many high-altitude and high-latitude regions and is further aggravated by climate *** snowmelt waterflow erosion process is affected by soil freeze-thaws and is highly dynamically *** this study,a methodology was developed to conduct in situ field experiments to investigate the effects of the thawed depth of the frozen soil profile on snowmelt waterflow *** method was implemented on an alpine meadow soil slope at an altitude of 3700 m on the northeastern Tibetan *** erosion experiments involved five thawed soil depths of 0,10,30(35),50,and 80(100)mm under two snowmelt waterflow rates(3 and 5 L/min).When the topsoil was fully frozen or shallow-thawed(≤10 mm),its hydrothermal and structural properties caused a significant lag in the initiation of runoff and delayed soil erosion in the initial *** runoff and sediment concentration curves for fully frozen and shallow-thawed soil showed two-stage patterns characteristic of a sediment supply limited in the early stage and subject to hydrodynamic-controlled processes in the later ***,this effect did not exist where the thawed soil depth was greater than 30 *** deep-thawed cases(≥30 mm)showed normal hydrograph and sedigraph patterns similar to those of the unfrozen *** findings of this study are important for understanding the erosion rates of partially thawed soil and for improving erosion simulations in cold regions.

Although the cell membrane and cytoskeleton play essential roles in cellular morphogenesis,the interaction between the membrane and cytoskeleton is poorly *** fibers are extremely elongated single cells,which makes them an ideal model for studying cell ***,we used the sphingolipid biosynthesis inhibitor,fumonisin B1(FB1),and found that it effectively suppressed the myeloblastosis(MYB)transcription factor GhMYB86,thereby negatively affecting fiber elongation.A direct target of GhMYB86 is GhTUB7,which encodes the tubulin protein,the major component of the microtubule ***,both the overexpression of GhMYB86 and GhTUB7 caused an ectopic microtubule arrangement at the fiber tips,and then leading to shortened ***,we found that GhMBE2 interacted with GhMYB86 and that FB1 and reactive oxygen species induced its transport into the nucleus,thereby enhancing the promotion of GhTUB7 by ***,we established a GhMBE2-GhMYB86-GhTUB7 regulation module for fiber elongation and revealed that membrane sphingolipids affect fiber elongation by altering microtubule arrangement.

Adhesion molecules mediate cell-to-cell and cell-to-extracellular matrix interactions and transmit mechanical and chemical signals among *** mechanisms deregulate adhesion molecules in cancer,enabling tumor cells to proliferate without restraint,invade through tissue boundaries,escape from immune surveillance,and survive in the tumor *** studies have revealed that adhesion molecules also drive angiogenesis,reshape metabolism,and are involved in stem cell *** this review,we summarize the functions and mechanisms of adhesion molecules in cancer and the tumor microenvironment,as well as the therapeutic strategies targeting adhesion *** studies have implications for furthering our understanding of adhesion molecules in cancer and providing a paradigm for exploring novel therapeutic approaches.

The neutron radiation field has vital applications in areas such as biomedicine, geology, radiation safety, and many others for neutron detection and neutron metrology. Correcting neutron fluence rate perturbation accurately is an important yet challenging problem. This study proposes a correction method that analyzes three physical processes. This method, which transforms the detection process from point detection to area detection, is based on a novel physical model and has been validated through theoretical analyses, experiments, and simulations. According to the average differences between the calculated and experimental results, the new method (1.67%) demonstrated better accuracy than the traditional simulation (2.17%). In a closed thermal neutron radiation field, the detector or strong neutron absorption material significantly perturbs the neutron fluence rate, whereas its impact on the energy spectrum shape and neutron directionality is relatively minor. Furthermore, based on the calculation results of the perturbation rate formula for medium materials with different compositions and sizes, the larger the volume and capture cross section of the medium, the higher the perturbation rate generated in the closed radiation field.

High-temperature thin-film sensors(TFSs)often suffer from inadequate tolerance to elevated *** this study,an innovative approach is presented to fabricate in situ integrated TFSs with a core-shell structure on alloy components using coaxial multi-ink printing *** method replaces traditional layerby-layer(LbL) deposition and LbL sintering processes and achieves simplified one-step *** coaxial TFS includes a conductive Pt core for conducting and sensing and a dielectric shell for electrical isolation and high-temperature *** coaxial Pt resistance grid demonstrates excellent high-temperature stability,with a resistance drift rate of only 0.08%·h^(-1) at 800 ℃,significantly lower than traditional Pt *** employing this method,a Pt thin-film strain gauge(TFSG) is fabricated that boasts remarkable high-temperature electromechanical *** effectively addresses the problem of sensitivity degradation experienced by traditional LbL Pt TFSGs when subjected to high *** demonstrate the system integration potential of the technique by printing and verifying the functionality of a long-path thinfilm resistance grid on turbine blades,which can withstand butane flame up to ~1300℃.These results showcase the potential of core-shell structure of the coaxial TFS for high-temperature applications,providing a novel approach to develop high-performance TFS beyond traditional multilayer structure.

Volatile sex pheromones are vital for sexual communication between males and *** of the American cockroach,Periplaneta americana,produce and emit two sex pheromone components,periplanone-A(PA)and periplanone-B(PB).Although PB is the major sex attractant and can attract males,how it interacts with PA in regulating sexual behaviors is still *** this study,we found that in male cockroaches,PA counteracted PB *** identified two odorant receptors(ORs),OR53 and OR100,as PB/PA and PA receptors,***53 and OR100 were predominantly expressed in the antennae of sexually mature males,and their expression levels were regulated by the sex differentiation pathway and nutrition-responsive *** localization of OR53 and OR100 in male antennae further revealed that two types of sensilla coordinate a complex two-pheromone-two-receptor pathway in regulating cockroach sexual *** findings indicate distinct functions of the two sex pheromone components,identify their receptors and possible regulatory mechanisms underlying the male-specific and age-dependent sexual behaviors,and can guide novel strategies for pest management.
