Synthetic vascular grafts suitable for small-diameter arteries(<6 mm) are in great ***,there are still no commercially available small-diameter vascular grafts(SDVGs) in clinical practice due to thrombosis and stenosis after in vivo *** designing SDVGs,many studies emphasized reendothelization but ignored the importance of reconstruction of the smooth muscle layer(SML).To facilitate rapid SML regeneration,a high-resolution 3D printing method was used to create a novel bilayer SDVG with structures and mechanical properties mimicking natural *** by the collagen alignment of SML,the inner layer of the grafts had larger pore sizes and high porosity to accelerate the infiltration of cells and their circumferential alignment,which could facilitate SML reconstruction for compliance restoration and spontaneous *** outer layer was designed to induce fibroblast recruitment by low porosity and minor pore size and provide SDVG with sufficient mechanical *** month after implantation,the arteries regenerated by 3D-printed grafts exhibited better pulsatility than electrospun grafts,with a compliance(8.9%) approaching that of natural arteries(11.36%) and significantly higher than that of electrospun ones(1.9%).The 3D-printed vascular demonstrated a three-layer structure more closely resembling natural arteries while electrospun grafts showed incomplete endothelium and immature *** study shows the importance of SML reconstruction during vascular graft regeneration and provides an effective strategy to reconstruct blood vessels through 3D-printed structures rapidly.

Influence of Si Contents on the Microstructure Evolution and Mechanical Properties of Al-Mg-Si-Cu-Zn Alloys

The influence of different Si contents on the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of Al⁃Mg⁃Si⁃Cu⁃Zn alloys was systematically studied using tensile testing,OM,SEM,EDS,and *** results indicate that the grain size of as⁃cast alloys was gradually reduced with the increase of the Si content,which mainly resulted from the formation of many iron⁃rich phases and precipitates during the casting *** homogenization treatment,the plate⁃likeβ⁃AlFeSi phases in the alloy with a higher Si content easily transformed to the sphericalα⁃Al(FeMn)Si phases,which is helpful for improving the formability of *** microstructure evolution of the alloys was also greatly dependent on the content of Si that the number density and homogeneous distribution level of precipitates in the final cold rolled alloys both increased with the increase of the Si content,which further provided a positive effect on the formation of fine recrystallization grains during the subsequent solution *** a result,the yield strength,ultimate tensile strength,and elongation of the pre⁃aged alloys in the direction of 45°with respect to the rolling direction were all increased with increasing Si content.

Chronic myelogenous leukemia(CML)is a malignancy from bone marrow myeloid stem cells mainly driven by the fusion gene *** addition to BCR-ABL,other genes including RNF6 are also dysregulated in CML cells.1 RNF6,a ubiquitin ligase of the RING family,promotes various cancer cell proliferation,chemoresistance,and tumor growth in vivo by targeting various proteins for ubiquitination and degradation,including SHP1,TLE3,FOXA1,and MAD1.^(2) However,its specific mechanism in CML is not known.

Soil phosphorus (P) plays a vital role in both ecological and agricultural ecosystems, where total P (TP) in soil serves as a crucial indicator of soil fertility and quality. Most of the studies covered in the literature employ a single or narrow range of soil databases, which largely overlooks the impact of utilizing multiple mapping scales in estimating soil TP, especially in hilly topographies. In this study, Fujian Province, a subtropical hilly region along China’s southeast coast covered by a complex topographic environment, was taken as a case study. The influence of the mapping scale on soil TP storage (TPS)estimation was analyzed using six digital soil databases that were derived from 3 082 unique soil profiles at different mapping scales, i.e., 1:50 000 (S5),1:200 000 (S20), 1:500 000 (S50), 1:1 000 000 (S100), 1:4 000 000 (S400), and 1:10 000 000 (S1000). The regional TPS in the surface soil (0–20 cm) based on the S5, S20, S50, S100, S400, and S1000 soil maps was 20.72, 22.17, 23.06, 23.05, 22.04, and 23.48 Tg, respectively, and the corresponding TPS at0–100 cm soil depth was 80.98, 80.71, 85.00, 84.03, 82.96, and 86.72 Tg, respectively. By comparing soil TPS in the S20 to S1000 maps to that in the S5map, the relative deviations were 6.37%–13.32%for 0–20 cm and 0.33%–7.09%for 0–100 cm. Moreover, since the S20 map had the lowest relative deviation among different mapping scales as compared to S5, it could provide additional soil information and a richer soil environment than other smaller mapping scales. Our results also revealed that many uncertainties in soil TPS estimation originated from the lack of detailed soil information, i.e., representation and spatial variations among different soil types. From the time and labor perspectives, our work provides useful guidelines to identify the appropriate mapping scale for estimating regional soil TPS in areas like Fujian Province in subtropical China or other places with similar complex topographies. Bone homeostasis relies on the dynamic balance of osteoblast mediated bone construction and osteoclast-based bone resorption processes,which has been reported to be controlled by various mineral ***,there is no direct evidence of the effect and the underlying mechanism of high salt stimulation on bone *** this study,we demonstrated that high salt stimulation promoted excessive mitochondrial fission mediated by dynamin-related protein 1 in mesenchymal stem cells,which resulted in impaired mitochondrial morphology and ***,this impairment hindered the bone formation of mesenchymal stem cells,resulting in osteopenia in ***,the impaired property of mesenchymal stem cells which was caused by high salt was controlled by dynamin-related protein 1 mediated mitochondrial fission,which inhibited the classical Wnt signaling ***,the osteogenic property of mesenchymal stem cells decreased by high salt could be restored by exosomes to transfer the mitochondrial DNA into the impaired mesenchymal stem *** study provides not only new strategies for promoting bone regeneration but also new insights into the effect and mechanism of exosome-mediated delivery.

Transition metal diborides(TMB_(2)s)are the materials of choice in extreme environments due to their excellent thermal and chemical ***,the degradation of oxidation resistance of TMB_(2)s at elevated temperature still hinders their *** cope with this challenge,it is effective to incorporate rare earth elements to form high-entropy transition and rare-earth metal diborides(HE TMREBs).To obtain thermodynamically stable single-phase structures for HE TMREB_(2)s,a“16×16 mixed enthalpy matrix”is constructed using first-principles calculations to predict the single-phase formation ability of120 two-component diborides(TCBs).Through the use of the“16×16 mixed enthalpy matrix”of TCBs,specific combinations of TMB_(2)s and REB_(2)s that are most likely to form single-phase HE TMREB_(2)s are ***,based on the energy distribution of the local mixing enthalpies of all possible configurations,the enthalpy and entropy descriptors of HE TMREB_(2)s(RE=Sc,Lu,Tm,Er,Ho and Dy)are *** is found that the mixing enthalpy plays a critical role in the stability of the single-phase HE TMREB_(2)s,i.e.,HE TMREB_(2)s are enthalpy-stabilized *** experimental results further confirm that enthalpy dominates the thermodynamic domain and drives the stability of REB_(2)s in HE TMREB_(2)*** study validates that enthalpy-stabilized HE TMREB_(2)s can further expand the compositional space of ultrahigh temperature ceramics(UHTCs)and is expected to further improve the oxidation resistance and high temperature properties of UHTCs.

Orexin Directly Enhances the Excitability of Globus Pallidus Internus Neurons in Rat by Co-activating OX1 and OX2 Receptors

Orexin, released from the hypothalamus, has been implicated in various basic non-somatic functions including feeding, the sleep-wakefulness cycle, emotion,and cognition. However, the role of orexin in somatic motor control is still little known. Here, using whole-cell patch clamp recording and immunostaining, we investigated the effect and the underlying receptor mechanism of orexin-A on neurons in the globus pallidus internus（GPi）,a critical structure in the basal ganglia and an effective target for deep brain stimulation therapy. Our results showed that orexin-A induced direct postsynaptic excitation of GPi neurons in a concentration-dependent *** orexin-A-induced excitation was mediated via co-activation of both OX1 and OX2 receptors. Furthermore, the immunostaining results showed that OX1 and OX2 receptors were co-localized in the same GPi neurons. These results suggest that the central orexinergic system actively modulates the motor functions of the basal ganglia via direct innervation on GPi neurons and presumably participates in somatic-non-somatic integration.

Cesium lead halide perovskite triangular nanorods as high-gain medium and effective cavities for multiphoton- pumped lasing

High-performance multiphoton-pumped lasers based on cesium lead halide perovskite nanostructures are promising for nonlinear optics and practical frequency upconversion devices in integrated photonics. However, the performance of such lasers is highly dependent on the quality of the material and cavity, which makes their fabrication challenging. Herein, we demonstrate that cesium lead halide perovskite triangular nanorods fabricated via vapor methods can serve as gain media and effective cavities for multiphoton-pumped lasers. We observed blue-shifts of the lasing modes in the excitation fluence-dependent lasing spectra at increased excitation powers, which fits well with the dynamics of Burstein-Moss shifts caused by the band filling effect. Moreover, efficient multiphoton lasing in CsPbBr3 nanorods can be realized in a wide excitation wavelength range （700-1,400 nm）. The dynamics of multiphoton lasing were investigated by time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy, which indicated that an electron-hole plasma is responsible for the multiphoton-pumped lasing. This work could lead to new opportunities and applications for cesium lead halide perovskite nanostructures in frequency upconversion lasing devices and optical interconnect systems.

BACKGROUND Pituitary metastasis is an uncommon manifestation of systemic malignant ***,hyperprolactinemia and overall hypopituitarism caused by metastatic spread leading to the initial symptoms are *** SUMMARY A 53-year-old male patient was admitted to our hospital with complaints of bilateral blurred vision,dizziness,polyuria,nocturia,severe fatigue and somnolence,decreased libido,and intermittent nausea and vomiting for more than 6 *** the last 7 d,the dizziness had *** investigations revealed overall hypofunction of the pituitary gland,but the patient had an elevated serum prolactin level(703.35 mg/mL).Preoperative magnetic resonance imaging revealed a tumor in the sellar region,accompanied by intratumoral hemorrhage and ***,transnasal subtotal resection of the lesion in the sellar region was *** histopathological and immunohistochemical examinations of the resected lesion revealed metastasis of lung adenocarcinoma to the pituitary *** hydrocortisone(30 mg/d)and levothyroxine(25 mg/d)were given both pre-and ***,the clinical symptoms were significantly ***,4 mo following the surgery,the patient succumbed due to multiple organ *** Hyperprolactinemia is one of the markers of poor prognosis in patients with carcinoma that metastasizes to the pituitary *** hormone supplementation plays a positive role in relieving the symptoms of patients and improving quality of life.
