MoSi_2 oxidation resistance coatings for Mo_5Si_3/MoSi_2 composites

In order to improve the oxidation resistance properties of 30 at.% Mo5Si3/MoSi2 composite at high temperature in air, a molybdenum disilicide coating was prepared on its surface by a molten salt technology. XRD and SEM analysis showed that only tetragonal MoSi2 phase existed in the coating after being siliconized for 5 h at 900℃. The oxidation film formed on the uncoated sample was not dense, so that oxygen diffused easily through it. The volatilization of MoO3 resulted in the oxidation film separating from the substrate. The MoSi2 coating was proved to be an effective method to prevent 30 at.% Mo5Si3/MoSi2 composites from being oxidized at 1200℃. A dense glassy SiO2 film was formed on the MoSi2 coating surface, which acted as a barrier layer for the diffusion of oxygen atoms to the substrate. The 30at.% MosSi3/MoSi2 composites with a MoSi2 coating showed much better oxidation resistance at high temperature.

In this paper, for the first time, we report the synthesis of nanoscale cuprous chloride(Cu Cl) cubic structure by a facile hydrothermal route. A possible mechanism for the growth of those nanostructures is proposed based on the experimental results. It is discovered that the existence of HCl could affect the surface of Cu Cl nanocubes. This unique cube-like nanostructure with rough surface significantly enhances the electroactive surface areas of Cu Cl, leading to a high special capacitance of 376 m F cm-2at the current density of 1.0 m A cm-2. There is still a good reversibility with cycling efficiency of 88.8 % after 2,000 cycles, demonstrating its excellent long-term cycling stability and might be the promising candidates as the excellent electrode material.

Hierarchically assembled SnO_2 microflowers were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal *** emission scanning electron microscope results showed these hierarchical nanostructures were built from two dimensional nanosheets with the thicknesses of about 50 nm. Photoluminescence spectrum of the asobtained products demonstrated a strong visual emission peak at 564 nm. The photochemical measurement results indicated that the as-prepared sample exhibits excellent photocatalytic performance. These three dimensional SnO_2 hierarchical nanostructures may have potential applications in waste water purification.

This study investigated the preventive effects of soybean meal peptides (SPs) and their purification peptides (GTYW) on acute alcoholic liver injury. We combined the gut microbiota， metabolites， liver inflammation， and oxidative stress indicators to explore the prevention mechanism of SPs and GTYW. Results showed that SPs， GTYW effectively improved the hepatic oxidative stress and inflammatory. Additionally， SPs and GTYW reversed the effects of alcohol on the gut microbiota， which were evident in the increased abundance of Alloprevotella， Parasutterella in the GTYW group and norank-f-Muribaculaceae in the SPs group. Non-targeted metabolomic analysis showed that SPs ameliorated metabolic disorders by regulating phenylalanine， tyrosine and tryptophan biosynthesis， while GTYW regulated metabolites through α-linolenic acid metabolism and phenylalanine metabolism. Furthermore， significant correlations were observed between gut microbiota， metabolites and liver indicators. These findings confirmed that SPs and GTYW can prevent acute alcoholic liver injury.

SARS-CoV-2 continues to threaten human society by generating novel variants via mutation and *** high number of mutations that appeared in emerging variants not only enhanced their immune-escaping ability but also made it difficult to predict the pathogenicity and virulence based on viral nucleotide *** markers for evaluating the pathogenicity of new variants are therefore *** comparing host responses to wild-type and variants with attenuated pathogenicity at proteome and metabolome levels,six key molecules on the polyamine biosynthesis pathway including putrescine,SAM,dc-SAM,ODC1,SAMS,and SAMDC were found to be differentially upregulated and associated with pathogenicity of *** validate our discovery,human airway organoids were subsequently used which recapitulates SARS-CoV-2 replication in the airway epithelial cells of COVID-19 *** ODC1 as a proof-ofconcept,differential activation of polyamine biosynthesis was found to be modulated by the renin-angiotensin system(RAS)and positively associated with ACE2 *** experiments demonstrated that ODC1 expression could be differentially activated upon a panel of SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern(VOCs)and was found to be correlated with each VOCs’pathogenic ***,the presented study revealed the discriminative ability of key molecules on polyamine biosynthesis as a predictive marker for virulence evaluation and assessment of SARS-CoV-2 variants in cell or organoid *** work,therefore,presented a practical strategy that could be potentially applied as an evaluation tool for the pathogenicity of current and emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants.

Bioactive peptides have various excellent biological activities and serve as functional foods to prevent chronic diseases in the human body. This article investigated the regulatory effect of egg white peptides (EPs) on the intestine barrier of young mice with colitis. The results showed that the intake of EPs could protect the intestines from inflammation damage. Besides， the expression of tight junction (TJ) proteins and mucin is upregulated. Markedly， the intake of EPs can increase the concentration of amino acids in the serum of young mice， which is crucial for nutritional supplementation during intestinal inflammation process. Proteomics analysis implied that EPs can regulate protein expression in the intestine， involving multiple inflammatory pathways including PI3K-AKT and MAPK signaling pathway. This demonstrated the health benefits of bioactive peptides and provides a theoretical basis for the development of animal derived proteins as functional foods.
