Carbon-containing electrospun nanofibers for lithium-sulfur battery:Current status and future directions

Lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)have become promising next-generation energy storage technologies for electric vehicles and portable electronics,due to its excellent theoretical specific ***,the low conductivity of sulfur species,notorious lithium dendrites,the severe"shuttle effect"of polysulfides(LiPSs)and the inferior kinetic reaction for LiPSs/Li_(2)S conversion during discharge-charge have seriously hindered their practical application,and also pose potential safety *** to their superior porous architectures,high specific surface areas,excellent structural designability,functional modifiability,abundant active sites and flexibility of carbon-containing electrospun nanofibers(CENFs),they exhibited the superior characteristics that can simultaneously solve the above *** this review,we summarize the recent progress and application of CENFs in ***,we provide a brief introduction to the structure and composition controlled of carbon nanofibers by *** then review progress in recent developments of CENFs for LSBs including cathodes,anodes,separators,and *** focus on how to solve practical issues that arise when the CENFs are applied to various parts of LSBs,and the relevant working mechanisms are described,from high sulfur loading and Li dendrites suppression to LiPSs’confinement and ***,we summarize and propose the existing challenges and future prospects of CENFs,for the design and architecture of electrochemical components in Li-S energy storage systems.

A robust fluorine-containing ceramic cathode for direct CO_(2) electrolysis in solid oxide electrolysis cells

Stro ntium-doped lanthanum ferrite(LSF)is a potential ceramic cathode for direct CO_(2) electrolysis in solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs),but its application is limited by insufficient catalytic activity and stability in CO_(2)-containing ***,a novel strategy is proposed to enhance the electrolytic performance as well as chemical stability,achieved by doping F into the O-site of the perovskite *** F does not change the phase structure but reduces the cell volume and improves the chemical stability in a CO_(2)-rich ***,F doping favors oxygen vacancy formation,increases oxygen vacancy concentration,and enhances the CO_(2) adsorption ***,doping with F greatly improves the kinetics of the CO_(2) reduction *** example,kchem increases by 78%from3.49×10^(-4) cm s^(-1) to 6.24×10^(-4) cm s^(-1),and Dchem doubles from 4.68×10^(-5) cm^(2) s^(-1) to 9.45×10^(-5)cm^(2) s^(-1).Consequently,doping F significantly increases the electrochemical performance,such as reducing R_(p) by 52.2%from 0.226Ωcm^(2) to 0.108Ωcm^(2) at 800℃.As a result,the single cell with the Fcontaining cathode exhibits an extremely high current density of 2.58 A cm^(-2) at 800℃and 1.5 V,as well as excellent durability over 200 h for direct CO_(2) electrolysis in SOECs.

Developing user-friendly electrodes for efficiently producing hydrogen from water to substitute non-renewable fossil fuels is one of the challenges in the hydrogen energy *** the first time,we have prepared self-supporting ultrahigh porosity cobalt foam loaded with NiCoP/NiOOH nanoflowers(NiCoP/CF)via freeze-drying and *** as-prepared hierarchical NiCoP/CF electrodes showed superior catalytic activity for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)in alkaline *** one resulted from phosphorization at 350℃(NiCoP/CF-350)only required overpotential of-47,and-126 mV to deliver geometrical current density of-10 mA cm^(-2) and-100 mA cm^(-2),respectively,demonstrating improved catalytic activity than the electrodes prepared using a commercial nickel foam as a ***,it could retain its superior stability at a current density higher than-500 mA cm^(-2) for 16 *** an outstanding performance can be attributed to the ultrahigh porosity of Co foam support,optimal adsorption energies of HER intermediates(H^(*)),facile water dissociation on the NiCoP/NiOOH heterointerfaces,and the assistance of NiOOH facilitating the electrons transfer from the Co foam inside to the NiCoP *** work would provide a new strategy for future design of advanced HER electrocatalysts.

The structure of sulfur host materials plays a key role in alleviating the shuttle effect,volume expansion and sluggish redox reaction of lithium–sulfur batteries(LSBs).In this work,the well-designed multichannel carbon fibers decorated by carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and CoS nanoparticles(MCF/CoS/CNT)are synthesized and serve as the flexible sulfur *** in situ grown CNTs network and embedded CoS enhance the overall conductivity of electrode and facilitate the redox reaction of sulfur-related *** from these merits,the MCF/CoS/CNT-based cathode exhibits a high reversible capacity of 927 mAh g^(−1) after 180 cycles with a low decay of 0.034%per cycle at 1.0 C.A superb areal capacity of 5.2 mAh cm^(−2) could be obtained under a high sulfur loading of 6.3 mg cm^(−2) and an ultralow electrolyte/sulfur ratio of 6.5μL mg^(−1) after 100 *** work offers a promising approach to the reasonable design of flexible sulfur host for LSBs toward high energy density.

LINDA: multi-agent local information decomposition for awareness of teammates

In cooperative multi-agent reinforcement learning(MARL), where agents only have access to partial observations, efficiently leveraging local information is critical. During long-time observations, agents can build awareness for teammates to alleviate the restriction of partial observability. However, previous MARL methods usually neglect awareness learning from local information for better collaboration. To address this problem, we propose a novel framework, multi-agent local information decomposition for awareness of teammates(LINDA), with which agents learn to decompose local information and build awareness for each teammate. We model the awareness as stochastic random variables and perform representation learning to ensure the informativeness of awareness representations by maximizing the mutual information between awareness and the actual trajectory of the corresponding agent. LINDA is agnostic to specific algorithms and can be flexibly integrated with different MARL methods. Sufficient experiments show that the proposed framework learns informative awareness from local partial observations for better collaboration and significantly improves the learning performance, especially on challenging tasks.

Unrolling a rain-guided detail recovery network for single-image deraining

Background Owing to the rapid development of deep networks, single-image deraining tasks have progressed significantly. Various architectures have been designed to recursively or directly remove rain, and most rain streaks can be removed using existing deraining methods. However, many of them cause detail loss, resulting in visual artifacts. Method To resolve this issue, we propose a novel unrolling rain-guided detail recovery network(URDRN) for single-image deraining based on the observation that the most degraded areas of a background image tend to be the most rain-corrupted regions. Furthermore, to address the problem that most existing deep-learningbased methods trivialize the observation model and simply learn end-to-end mapping, the proposed URDRN unrolls a single-image deraining task into two subproblems: rain extraction and detail recovery. Result Specifically, first, a context aggregation attention network is introduced to effectively extract rain streaks;thereafter, a rain attention map is generated as an indicator to guide the detail recovery process. For the detail recovery sub-network, with the guidance of the rain attention map, a simple encoder–decoder model is sufficient to recover the lost *** on several well-known benchmark datasets show that the proposed approach can achieve performance similar to those of other state-of-the-art methods.

Preparation of Hollow ZrB_2 Spheres by a Combined Sol-gel and Boro/carbothermal Reduction Method

Carbon microspheres were firstly prepared using glucose （C6H12O6 ） as the starting materials by hydrotherreal carbonization. Then hollow ZrB2 spheres were successfully synthesized using zirconium oxychloride （ ZrClO2 · 8H2O）, boric acid （ H3BO3 ） by a combined solgel and boro/carbothermal reduction method, and the prepared carbon microspheres as the template. The effects of the reaction temperatures （1 200, 1 300, 1 400 and 1 500 ℃, respectively） and contents of carbon microspheres （ n （ C ）： n （ ZrO2 ＋ B2O3） is 5. 0, 5. 5, 6. 0 and 6. 5, respectively） on the synthesis of hollow ZrB2 spheres were studied. The prepared carbon microspheres have smooth sugrace and good hollow structure by hydrothermal nitridation. Increase of reaction temperature and excessive carbon microspheres can greatly promote the formation of hollow ZrB2 spheres. The optimized reaction temperature and molar ratio of n （C）/ n （ ZrO2 ＋ B2O3 ） were 1 500 ℃ and 6.5, respectively.
