Precipitation Microphysical Processes in the Inner Rainband of Tropical Cyclone Kajiki (2019) over the South China Sea Revealed by Polarimetric Radar

Polarimetric radar and 2D video disdrometer observations provide new insights into the precipitation microphysical processes and characteristics in the inner rainband of tropical cyclone(TC)Kajiki(2019)in the South China Sea for the first *** precipitation of Kajiki is dominated by high concentrations and small(<3 mm)raindrops,which contribute more than 98%to the total *** average mass-weighted mean diameter and logarithmic normalized intercept are 1.49 mm and 4.47,respectively,indicating a larger mean diameter and a lower concentration compared to the TCs making landfall in eastern *** ice processes of the inner rainband are dramatically different among different *** riming process is dominant during the mature stage,while during the decay stage the aggregation process is *** vertical profiles of the polarimetric radar variables together with ice and liquid water contents in the convective region indicate that the formation of precipitation is dominated by warm-rain *** raindrops collect cloud droplets and other raindrops,causing reflectivity,differential reflectivity,and specific differential phase to increase with decreasing *** is,accretion and coalescence play a critical role in the formation of heavy *** melting of different particles generated by the ice process has a great influence on the initial raindrop size distribution(DSD)to further affect the warm-rain *** DSD above heavy rain with the effect of graupel has a wider spectral width than the region without the effect of graupel.

Aself-accelerating three-component reaction was developed using the secondary amines,CS_(2),and sym-dibenzo-1,5-cyclooctadiene-3,7-diyne(DIBOD)as *** this three-component reaction,the secondary amine reacts with CS_(2) to form dithiocarbamate anion,which subsequently in-situ reacts with DIBOD behaving a self-accelerating reaction ***,the reaction of dithiocarbamate anion with the first alkyne of DIBOD activates the unreacted alkyne,which reacts with dithiocarbamate anion much faster than the original alkyne of *** the self-accelerating three-component reaction as polymerization reaction,a stoichiometric imbalance-promoted step-growth polymerization method was developed using the difunctional secondary amines,CS_(2),and DIBOD as monomer *** novel three-component polymerization can quickly produce high molecular weight dithiocarbamate-containing polymers under mild conditions using a slight molar excess of DIBOD to difunctional secondary amine *** sulfur elements in the backbones,the resultant polymers hold high refractivity and may find potential applications in optical and optoelectronic fields.

A habitat model has been widely used to manage marine species and analyze relationship between species distribution and environmental *** predictive skill in habitat model depends on whether the models include appropriate explanatory *** to limited habitat range,low density,and low detection rate,the number of zero catches could be very large even in favorable *** zeroes will increase the bias and uncertainty in estimation of ***,appropriate explanatory variables need to be chosen first to prevent underestimate or overestimate species abundance in habitat *** addition,biotic variables such as prey data and spatial autocovariate(SAC)of target species are often ignored in species distribution ***,we evaluated the eff ects of input variables on the performance of generalized additive models(GAMs)under excessive zero catch(>70%).Five types of input variables were selected,i.e.,(1)abiotic variables,(2)abiotic and biotic variables,(3)abiotic variables and SAC,(4)abiotic,biotic variables and SAC,and(5)principal component analysis(PCA)based abiotic and biotic variables and ***’s croaker Johnius belangerii is one of the dominant demersal fish in Haizhou Bay,with a large number of zero catches,thus was used for the case *** show that the PCA-based GAM incorporated with abiotic and biotic variables and SAC was the most appropriate model to quantify the spatial distribution of the *** variables and SAC were important and should be incorporated as one of the drivers to predict species *** study suggests that the process of input variables is critical to habitat modelling,which could improve the performance of habitat models and enhance our understanding of the habitat suitability of target species.

Landslide susceptibility mapping using hybrid random forest with GeoDetector and RFE for factor optimization

The present study aims to develop two hybrid models to optimize the factors and enhance the predictive ability of the landslide susceptibility *** this,a landslide inventory map was created with 406 historical landslides and 2030 non-landslide points,which was randomly divided into two datasets for model training(70%)and model testing(30%).22 factors were initially selected to establish a landslide factor *** applied the GeoDetector and recursive feature elimination method(RFE)to address factor optimization to reduce information redundancy and collinearity in the ***,the frequency ratio method,multicollinearity test,and interactive detector were used to analyze and evaluate the optimized ***,the random forest(RF)model was used to create a landslide susceptibility map with original and optimized *** resultant hybrid models GeoDetector-RF and RFE-RF were evaluated and compared by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)and *** accuracy of the two hybrid models(0.868 for GeoDetector-RF and 0.869 for RFE-RF)were higher than that of the RF model(0.860),indicating that the hybrid models with factor optimization have high reliability and *** RFE-RF GeoDetector-RF had higher AUC values,respectively 0.863 and 0.860,than RF(0.853).These results confirm the ability of factor optimization methods to improve the performance of landslide susceptibility models.

On the decidability of open logic

Open logic （OL） is a noticeable logic theory dealing with the description of knowledge growth and updating, as well as the evolution of hypothesis. Up to now, however, many problems related to the proof theoretical approach of OL remain to be explored. In this paper, the typical proof theoretical problems for OL are described and the concept of open proof is defined. Two major conclusions are as follows：（i） For the consistent OL systems, the open proof problem is semi-decidable （a decision algorithm is presented）. （ii） For general （normal, not necessarily consistent） OL systems, the open proof problem is not semi-decidable.

Almost periodic oscillations in a generalized Mackey-Glass model of respiratory dynamics with several delays

By using some analytical techniques, modified inequalities and Mawhin＇s continuous theorem of coincidence degree theory, some simple sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one positive almost periodic solution of a generalized Mackey-Glass model of respiratory dynamics are obtained. Further, the globM attractivity of positive almost periodic solution of the above model is also studied. To the best of the author＇s knowl- edge, so far, the result of this paper is completely new. Finally, three examples are given to illustrate the main results in this paper.

A quasi-solid-state electrolyte with high ionic conductivity for stable lithium-ion batteries

The practical applications of solid-state electrolytes in lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)are hindered by their low ionic conductivity and high interfacial ***,an ethoxylated trimethylolpropane triacrylate based quasi-solid-state electrolyte(ETPTAQSSE)with a three-dimensional(3D)network is prepared by a one-step in-situ photopolymerization *** 3D network is designed to overcome the contradiction between the plasticizer-related ionic conductivity and the thickness-dependent mechanical property of quasi-solid-state *** ETPTA-QSSE achieves superb room-temperature ionic conductivity up to 4.55×10^(−3)S cm^(−1),a high lithium ion transference number of 0.57,along with a wide electrochemical window of 5.3 V(***+/Li),which outperforms most ever of the reported solid-state *** to the robust network structure and the cathodeelectrolyte integrated electrode design,Li metal symmetrical cells show reduced interface resistance and reinforced electrode/electrolyte interface *** applying the ETPTA-QSSE in LiFePO_(4)||Li cells,the quasi-solid-state cell demonstrates an enhanced initial discharge capacity(155.5 mAh g^(−1)at 0.2 C)accompanied by a high average Coulombic efficiency of greater than 99.3%,offering capacity retention of 92%after 200 ***,this work sheds light on the strategy of enhancing ionic conductivity and reducing interfacial resistance of quasi-solid-state electrolytes,which is promising for high-voltage LIBs.

Flexible self-cleaning surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)sensors are highly desirable for the detection of various environmental pollutants,including volatile organic compounds(VOCs).However,achieving sensitive detection without labeling and ensuring efficient cyclic use remain significant ***,we introduce a direct approach to create a versatile Ni_(3)S_(2)/MoS_(2)@Ag@PDMS(PDMS=polydimethylsiloxane)composite SERS substrate using chemical vapor deposition *** produced substrate shows outstanding performance,offering extremely low detection sensitivity(1.0×10^(−12)M 4-aminobenzenethiol)and high enhancement factors(approximately 107).The interactions between the rod-shaped Ni_(3)S_(2)/MoS_(2)@Ag heterostructure and the molecules facilitate the transfer of charge,resulting in an increased electric field enhancement of the exciton *** has the dual benefit of providing a self-cleaning effect and enhancing SERS ***,the substrate enables sensitive detection of VOCs gas molecules without the need for labels,achieving a minimum detectable concentration as low as 1 ppm for o-dichlorobenzene,due to the preconcentration effect of *** calculations further explain the combined effect of electromagnetic and chemical enhancement in this composite *** utilizing the developed visual SERS barcode,quick multiple detection and analysis of mixtures can be *** flexible and versatile SERS technique has significant potential for on-site detection and analysis of environmental pollutants,opening the doors for the development of a wearable in-situ SERS sensing platform.
