Inserting corrosion inhibitors into a lamellar protective coating is an effective way to improve the corrosion resistance of metal *** this work,two kinds of environmentally friendly organic acid anions,aspartic acid(ASP)and lauric acid(La),were explored as corrosion inhibitors to in situ intercalate into the Zn Al-layered double hydroxides(Zn Al-LDHs)on AZ31 magnesium alloys by a facile one-step hydrothermal *** morphology,composition,structure and the corrosion resistance of these two LDHs coating before and after corrosion experiment were *** is found that both the two kinds of Zn Al-LDHs films consist of uniform and dense layered nanosheets(NSs),and the NSs of ZnAl-ASP-LDHs films grow vertically,but those of ZnAl-La-LDHs films exhibit a staggered tilted *** corrosion current density of the two Zn Al-LDHs films are two orders of magnitude lower than that of Mg alloy *** one week’s immersion in NaCl solution,the NSs structure of two kind of ZnAl-LDHs films still remains the uniform and densely coverage on Mg *** to the larger d(003)spacing,the ZnAl-La-LDHs have better ability to absorb Cl-and release interlayer anions than Zn *** results indicate that the Zn Al-LDHs films intercalated with organic anions,specially La anions,can significantly improve the corrosion resistance of Mg alloy.

Interfacial microstructure evolution of 12Cr1MoV/TP347H dissimilar steel welded joints during aging

The interfacial microstructure evolution of 12Cr1MoV/TP347H dissimilar steel welded joints with a nickel-based filler metal during aging was studied in detail to elucidate the mechanism of premature failures of this kind of *** results showed that not only a band of granular Cr_(23)C_(6)carbides were formed along the fusion boundary in the ferritic steel during aging,but also a large number of granular or plate-like Cr_(23)C_(6)carbides,which have a cube-cube orientation relationship with the matrix,were also precipitated on the weld metal side of the fu-sion boundary,making this zone be etched more easily than the other zone and become a dark etched *** faults were found in some Cr_(23)C_(6)*** the as-welded state,deformation twins were observed in the weld metal with a fully austenitic *** peak micro-hardness was shifted from the ferritic steel side to the weld metal side of the fusion boundary after aging and the peak value increased *** on the experimental results,a mechanism of premature failures of the joints was proposed.

The effect of heating rates during vacuum debinding on the microstructure and mechanical properties of alumina ceramics are discussed in this *** threedimensional(3D)-printed alumina ceramics examined in this study were found to have a layered structure,and interlayer spacing increased as the heating rate increased The pore diameter,shrinkage,flexural strength and hardness were found to decrease as the heating rate increased due to weak interfacial bonding between alumina particles Shrinkage was found to be much larger along the Z direction than along the X or Y directions due to the layer-bylayer forming mode during 3D printing.0.5°C·min-1is considered the optimum heating rate,yielding ceramics with interlayer spacing of 0.65 lm,shrinkage of 2.6%2.3%and 4.0%along the X,Y and Z directions,respectively,flexural strength of 27.5 MPa,hardness of29.8 GPa,Vickers hardness of HV 266.5,pore diameter of356.8 nm,bulk density of 2.5 g·cm-3,and open porosity of38.4%.The debinding procedure used in this study could be used to produce a high-quality ceramic which can be used for fabricating alumina ceramic cores.

Short-term Scheduling of Steam Power System in Iron and Steel Industry under Time-of-use Power Price

A generalized formulation for short-term scheduling of steam power system in iron and steel industry under the time-of-use（TOU）power price was presented,with minimization of total operational cost including fuel cost,equipment maintenance cost and the charge of exchange power with main *** model took into account the varying nature of surplus byproduct gas flows,several practical technical constraints and the impact of TOU power *** major types of utility equipments,involving boilers,steam turbines,combined heat and power（CHP）units,and waste heat and energy recovery generators（WHERG）,were separately modeled using thermodynamic balance equations and regression *** order to solve this complex nonlinear optimization model,a new improved particle swarm optimization（IPSO）algorithm was proposed by incorporating time-variant parameters,a selfadaptive mutation scheme and efficient constraint handling ***,a case study for a real industrial example was used for illustrating the model and validating the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

New Method for Estimating Daily Global Solar Radiation over Sloped Topography in China

A new scheme for the estimation of daily global solar radiation over sloped topography in China is developed based on the Iqbal model C and MODIS cloud fraction. The effects of topography are determined using a digital elevation model. The scheme is tested using observations of solar radiation at 98 stations in China, and the results show that the mean absolute bias error is 1.51 MJ m-2 d-1 and the mean relative absolute bias error is 10.57%. Based on calculations using this scheme, the distribution of daily global solar radiation over slopes in China on four days in the middle of each season （15 January, 15 April, 15 July and 15 October 2003） at a spatial resolution of 1 km×1 km are analyzed. To investigate the effects of topography on global solar radiation, the results determined in four mountains areas （Tianshan, Kunlun Mountains, Qinling, and Nanling） are discussed, and the typical characteristics of solar radiation over sloped surfaces revealed. In general, the new scheme can produce reasonable characteristics of solar radiation distribution at a high spatial resolution in mountain areas, which will be useful in analyses of mountain climate and planning for agricultural production.

Artificial neural network-based method for discriminating Compton scattering events in high-purity germaniumγ-ray spectrometer

To detect radioactive substances with low activity levels,an anticoincidence detector and a high-purity germanium(HPGe)detector are typically used simultaneously to suppress Compton scattering background,thereby resulting in an extremely low detection limit and improving the measurement ***,the complex and expensive hardware required does not facilitate the application or promotion of this ***,a method is proposed in this study to discriminate the digital waveform of pulse signals output using an HPGe detector,whereby Compton scattering background is suppressed and a low minimum detectable activity(MDA)is achieved without using an expensive and complex anticoincidence detector and *** electric-field-strength and energy-deposition distributions of the detector are simulated to determine the relationship between pulse shape and energy-deposition location,as well as the characteristics of energy-deposition distributions for fulland partial-energy deposition *** relationship is used to develop a pulse-shape-discrimination algorithm based on an artificial neural network for pulse-feature *** accurately determine the relationship between the deposited energy of gamma(γ)rays in the detector and the deposition location,we extract four shape parameters from the pulse signals output by the *** learning is used to input the four shape parameters into the ***,the pulse signals are identified and classified to discriminate between partial-and full-energy deposition *** partial-energy deposition events are removed to suppress Compton *** proposed method effectively decreases the MDA of an HPGeγ-energy dispersive *** results show that the Compton suppression factors for energy spectra obtained from measurements on ^(152)Eu,^(137)Cs,and ^(60)Co radioactive sources are 1.13(344 keV),1.11(662 keV),and 1.08(1332 keV),respectively,and that the corresponding MDAs are 1.4%,5.

Isotope separation of Potassium with a magneto–optical combined method

Due to the similar physical and chemical properties, isotopes are usually hard to separate. On the other hand, the isotope shifts are very well separated in a high-resolution spectrum, making them possible to be addressed individually by lasers, thus separated. Here we report such an isotope separation experiment with Potassium atoms. The isotopes are independently optical pumped to the desired spin states, and then separated with a Stern–Gerlach scheme. A micro-capillary oven is used to collimate the atomic beam, and a Halbach-type magnet array is used to deflect the desired atoms. Finally, the 40K is enriched by two orders of magnitude. This magneto–optical combined method provides an effective way to separate isotopes and can be extended to other elements if the relevant optical pumping scheme is feasible.

Objective Current clinical evidence on the effects of home blood pressure telemonitoring(HBPT)on improving blood pressure control comes entirely from developed ***,we performed this randomized controlled trial to evaluate whether HBPT plus support(patient education and clinician remote hypertension management)improves blood pressure control more than usual care(UC)in the Chinese *** This single-center,randomized controlled study was conducted in Beijing,*** aged 30-75 years were eligible for enrolment if they had blood pressure[systolic(SBP)≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic(DBP)≥90 mmHg;or SBP≥130 mmHg and/or DBP≥80 mmHg with diabetes].We recruited 190 patients randomized to either the HBPT or the UC groups for 12 *** primary endpoints were blood pressure reduction and the proportion of patients achieving the target blood *** Totally,172 patients completed the study,the HBPT plus support group(n=84),and the UC group(n=88).Patients in the plus support group showed a greater reduction in mean ambulatory blood pressure than those in the UC *** plus support group had a significantly higher proportion of patients who achieved the target blood pressure and maintained a dipper blood pressure pattern at the12th week of ***,the patients in the plus support group showed lower blood pressure variability and higher drug adherence than those in the UC *** HBPT plus additional support results in greater blood pressure reduction,better blood pressure control,a higher proportion of dipper blood pressure patterns,lower blood pressure variability,and higher drug adherence than *** development of telemedicine may be the cornerstone of hypertension management in primary care.
