In this study,the effects of geometrical and physical factors on light particles dispersion in stirred tank were investigated by agitation characteristic *** experiments and CFD simulations with discrete phase model(DPM)and volume of fluid model(VOF)were conducted in this *** factors,which include four geometrical factors(submergence,impeller-to-tank ratio,number of impeller blades and baffling mode)and a physical factor(liquid viscosity)were *** each factor,the power consumption curve and agitation characteristic curve were drawn to compare the power consumption and mixing results in the stirred *** of the agitation characteristic curves were compared with the previous published literatures and *** is found that the agitation characteristic curves reflect the tendency of power consumption and particles distribution well in stirred *** good agreement indicates the applicability of the agitation characteristic curves for the study of light particles distribution in stirred tank.

In the frame of fully nonlinear potential flow theory,series solutions of interfacial periodic gravity waves in a two-layer fluid with free surface are obtained by the homotopy analysis method(HAM),and the related wave forces on a vertical cylinder are *** solution procedure of the HAM for the interfacial wave model with rigid upper surface is further developed to consider the free surface *** forces of nonlinear interfacial periodic waves are estimated by both the classical and modified Mori-son *** is found that the estimated wave forces by the classical Morison equation are more conservative than those by the modified Morison’s formula,and the relative error between the total inertial forces calculated by these two kinds of Morison’s formulae remains over 25%for most cases unless the upper and lower layer depths are both large *** demonstrates that the convective acceleration neglected in the classical Morison equation is rather important for inertial force exerted by not only internal solitary waves but also interfacial periodic *** of these should further deepen our understanding of internal periodic wave forces on a vertical marine riser.

Drawdown mechanism of light particles in baffled stirred tank for the KR desulphurization process

To improve the efficiency of the desulfurization process, the drawdown mechanism of light particles in stirred tank is studied in this paper. For both up and down pumping modes, the just drawdown speeds(Njd) of floating particles in transformative Kanbara Reactor(KR) are measured in one and four baffled stirred tanks experimentally. Then numerical simulations with standard k-ε model coupled with volume of fluid model(VOF) and discrete phase model(DPM) are conducted to analyze the flow field at the just drawdown speed Njd. The torques on the impeller obtained from experiments and simulations agree well with each other, which indicates the validity of our numerical simulations. Based on the simulations, three main drawdown mechanisms for floating particles, the axial circulation, turbulent fluctuation and largescale eddies, are analyzed. It's found that the axial circulation dominates the drawdown process at small submergence(S = 1/4 T and 1/3 T) and the large-scale eddies play a major role at large submergence(S = 2/3 T and 3/4 T). Besides, the turbulent fluctuation affects the drawdown process significantly for up pumping mode at small submergence(S = 1/4 T and 1/3 T) and for down pumping mode at large submergence(S = 2/3 T and 3/4 T). This paper helps to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the KR desulphurizer drawdown process in the baffled stirred tank.

Synchronization in coupled oscillator networks has attracted much attention from many fields of science and engineering. In this paper, it is firstly proved that the oscifiator network with nonlinear coupling is also eventually dissipative under the hypothesis of eventual dissipation of the uncoupled oscillators. And the dynamics of the network is analyzed in its absorbing domain by combining two methods developed recently. Suufficient conditions for synchronization in the oscillator networks with nonlinear coupling are obtained. The two methods are combined effectively and the results embody the respective merits of the two methods. Numerical simulations confirm the validity of the results.

岩体力学参数是影响地下工程围岩稳定的重要因素,确定合理的岩体变形模量对隧洞设计至关重要。结合南水北调中线北京段西甘池试验洞工程,对岩体进行静载荷试验分析研究,详细介绍试验点岩体的加卸载变形关系曲线,获得西甘池隧洞岩体变形模量参数建议值,为工程设计提供依据,并以期为类似工程的设计和施工提供参考。研究结果表明:试验压力较小时,各试点岩体变形或弹性模量的变化曲线有的升、有的降,试验压力大于0.4 MPa以后,各试点的变形模量和弹性模量逐渐趋于稳定;隧洞围岩变形控制及支护结构设计时,应根据各段围岩的岩性(大理岩、滑石片岩)、结构完整性、节理裂隙的空间展布方式以及发育充填情况等综合考虑,结合工程类比和地质经验最终确定岩体弹性参数的基本代表值。研究的方法和结论可为类似条件下隧洞工程的设计、施工提供参考和借鉴。

The pulsed power ultrasonic-assisted gas metal arc welding(PU-GMAW)is a new development hybrid welding *** influences of the pulsed power ultrasonic on the microstructure evolution of the welded joint of Al-Cu alloy were investigated by using scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscope and electron back scattering *** results showed that the efficient heat input in the PU-GMAW was increased by above 100%compared with the traditional *** grain and eutectic of the PU-GMAW weld seam were refined compared with that of the *** and acoustic streaming induced the dendrite fragmentation(α-Al)and heterogeneous nucleation,which were the main reasons for the grain *** microhardness of the PU-GMAW welded joint was improved compared with that of the GMAW owing to the change of the eutectic and grain.
