Severe irinotecan-induced toxicity in a patient with UGT1A1*28 and UGT1A1*6 polymorphisms

Many studies have demonstrated the impact of UGT1A1 on toxicity of irinotecan. In particular, patients bear-ing UGT1A1*28 (TA 7/7) have a higher risk of severe neutropenia and diarrhea. Based on this, prescribers of irinotecan are advised that patients with UGT1A1*28 (TA 7/7) should start with a reduced dose of irinotecan, although a particular dose is not specified. Research in Asian countries has shown a lower incidence of UG-T1A1*28 (TA 7/7), while UGT1A1*6 (A/A) is more often found and is associated with severe irinotecan-related neutropenia. We report here a case of a metastatic colorectal cancer patient who is heterozygous for the UGT1A1*28 polymorphism (TA 6/7) as well as the UG-T1A1*6 polymorphism (G/A). The patient was treated with FOLFIRI for 9 cycles and underwent two irinote-can dose reductions according to pharmacokinetic data regarding exposure to the active metabolite, SN-38. Simultaneous heterozygous UGT1A1*28 and UGT1A1*6 polymorphisms may produce higher exposure to SN-38 and a higher risk of adverse effects related to irinote-can. Additional studies will be necessary to determine the optimal starting dose of irinotecan for patients with both UGT1A1*28 and UGT1A1*6 polymorphisms.

The plastic work-heat conversion coefficient is one key parameter for studying the work-heat conversion under dynamic deformation of materials. To explore this coefficient of 7075-T651 aluminum alloy under dynamic compression, dynamic compression experiments using the Hopkinson bar under four groups of strain rates were conducted, and the temperature signals were measured by constructing a transient infrared temperature measurement system. According to stress versus strain data as well as the corresponding temperature data obtained through the experiments, the influences of the strain and the strain rate on the coefficient of plastic work converted to heat were *** experimental results show that the coefficient of plastic work converted to heat of 7075-T651 aluminum alloy is not a constant at the range of 0.85–1 and is closely related to the strain and the strain rate. The change of internal structure of material under high strain rate reduces its energy storage capacity, and makes almost all plastic work convert into heat.

Steel sets are widely used in tunnels with unfavorable geological *** steel sets always have small dimensions and are densely installed on the excavation surface,which is why performing nonlinear analysis on steel sets in actual engineering is a challenging ***,an implicit nonlinear finite element method(FEM)for steel sets in tunnels was ***,considering the mechanical characteristics of the steel set,a mathematical model of the steel set was proposed,which can accurately reflect the arch effect of the steel ***,the stress-strain relationship of the steel set was divided into the linear elastic stage,the first yield platform stage,the nonlinear hardening stage,and the second yield platform *** combination with the mixed hardening model,a nonlinear mechanical model of the steel set was established,and its rationality was verified by a thick aluminum ring ***,for the convenience of engineering applications,steel sets were implied into rock elements,and their elastoplastic stiffness was superimposed into rock elements to reflect their supporting ***,a stress update algorithm for the steel sets in the nonlinear iterative process and a method to simulate their fracture failure were *** models were incorporated into a self-developed FEM program to conduct nonlinear analysis for steel sets in ***,the proposed method was applied in a cross-fault hydraulic *** results proved its rationality,and some conclusions of interest were *** method does not need to establish a complex solid model for steel sets,has no influence on the meshes of rock elements,and can simulate the whole process of steel sets from the linear elastic stage to the nonlinear hardening stage and finally to the fracture failure ***,it may be a convenient method of simulating steel sets in tunnels.

It has become evident, from research in the past couple of decades, that sparsity is a flexible and powerful notion when dealing with these data, both from empirical and theoretical viewpoints. In this survey, we review some of the most popular techniques to exploit sparsity, for analyzing high-dimensional vectors, matrices and higher-order tensors.

The electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR)as an energy-efficient approach for ammonia synthesis is hampered by the low ammonia yield and ambiguous reaction ***,phosphorus-doped carbon nanotube(P-CNTs)is developed as an efficient metal-free electrocatalyst for NRR with a remarkable NH3 yield of 24.4μg·h^−1·mg^−*** partial current density of 0.61 mA·cm^−*** superior activity is found to be from P doping and highly conjugated CNTs *** and theoretical investigations discover that the electron-deficient phosphorus sites with Lewis acidity should be genuine active sites and NRR on P-CNTs follows the distal *** findings provide insightful understanding on NRR processes on P-CNTs,opening up opportunities for the rational design of highly-active cost-effective metal-free catalysts for electrochemical ammonia synthesis.

A three-dimensional （3D） finite element model of air-cushion isolated arch dam is presented with the nonlinear gas-liquid-solid multi-field dynamic coupling effect taken into *** this model,the displacement formulation in Lagrange method,pressure formulation in Euler method,nonlinear contact model based on Coulomb friction law are applied to the air-cushion,reservoir and contraction joint domain,*** dynamic response of Jinping I arch dam with a height of 305 m is analyzed using the seismic records of the Wenchuan Earthquake in *** results show that the air-cushion isolation reduces significantly the hydrodynamic pressure as well as the opening width for the contraction joints of high arch dam.
