Alkaline electrochemical water oxidation powered by renewable energies is a promising and environmentally friendly way to produce *** industrial water electrolyzers are commonly operated at a high current density,calling for abundant and durable active sites to participate *** rational design of hierarchically structured electrocatalysts is thus essential to industrial water ***,we develop a Fe3+induced nanosizing strategy for fabricating such a hierarchical FeCo LDH@Co3O4(LDH:layered double hydroxide)nanostructure array for high-rate water *** functional theory(DFT)simulations indicate that the introduction of Fe3+with a small ion radius and high electrical repulsion in the LDH layer distorted the LDH layer,resulting in a reduced nanosheet size and enabling the formation of a hierarchical *** structure cannot be achieved without the participation of Fe3+*** from the significantly enhanced electrochemical surface areas and charge/mass transport due to the hierarchical structure together with the boosted intrinsic activity by electronic modulation of Fe3+,such FeCo LDH@Co3O4 electrode can deliver an industrial-level current density of 1,000 mA·cm-2 at a small overpotential of 392 mV for water *** assembled in a water electrolyzer,it delivers a current density of 100 mA·cm-2 at a low operation voltage of 1.61 *** by solar light,the electrolyzer demonstrates high solar-to-hydrogen efficiency of 18.15%with stable and reproducible *** results provide new insights for constructing hierarchical nanostructures for advanced water oxidation and other diverse applications.

Classifying patterns of known classes and rejecting ambiguous and novel(also called as out-of-distribution(OOD))inputs are involved in open world pattern *** neural network models usually excel in closed-set classification while perform poorly in rejecting OOD *** tackle this problem,numerous methods have been designed to perform open set recognition(OSR)or OOD rejection/detection *** methods mostly take post-training score transformation or hybrid models to ensure low scores on OOD inputs while separating known *** this paper,we attempt to build a unified framework for building open set classifiers for both classification and OOD *** formulate the open set recognition of K-known-class as a(K+1)-class classification problem with model trained on known-class samples *** decomposing the K-class problem into K one-versus-all(OVA)binary classification tasks and binding some parameters,we show that combining the scores of OVA classifiers can give(K+1)-class posterior probabilities,which enables classification and OOD rejection in a unified *** maintain the closed-set classification accuracy of the OVA trained classifier,we propose a hybrid training strategy combining OVA loss and multi-class cross-entropy *** implement the OVA framework and hybrid training strategy on the recently proposed convolutional prototype network and prototype classifier on vision transformer(ViT)*** on popular OSR and OOD detection datasets demonstrate that the proposed framework,using a single multi-class classifier,yields competitive performance in closed-set classification,OOD detection,and misclassification *** code is available at https://***/zhen-cheng121/CPN_OVA_unified.

Selection Method for New Energy Output Guaranteed Rates Considering Optimal Energy Storage Configuration

The output of new energy represented by wind power and photovoltaic power features volatility and randomness. It is a practical approach to use the guaranteed rate with statistical characteristics to analyze the output coefficient of new energy. However, there is a lack of analysis and demonstration on the value of the new energy output guaranteed rate. To solve this problem, a selection method for the new energy output guaranteed rate considering optimal energy storage configuration is proposed. First, the influence of the new energy output guaranteed rate on the new energy output coefficient is analyzed. Secondly, with the goal of minimizing the comprehensive costs, an optimal configuration model of energy storage based on the output guaranteed rate of new energy is constructed, and particle swarm optimization is used for the optimization solution. Then, according to the optimal energy storage configuration results under different guaranteed rates, a reasonable new energy output guaranteed rate is determined by maximizing the comprehensive benefits obtained from energy storage. Finally, an example applied to the power grid in an area of Guangdong in Southern China is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

For expedited transportation,vehicular tunnels are often designed as two adjacent tunnels,which frequently experience dynamic stress waves from various orientations during blasting *** analyze the impact of dynamic loading orientation on the stability of the twin-tunnel,a split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)apparatus was used to conduct a dynamic test on the twin-tunnel *** two tunnels were rotated around the specimen’s center to consider the effect of dynamic loading ***-DYNA software was used for numerical simulation to reveal the failure properties and stress wave propagation law of the twin-tunnel *** findings indicate that,for a twin-tunnel exposed to a dynamic load from different orientations,the crack initiation position appears most often at the tunnel corner,tunnel spandrel,and tunnel *** the impact direction is created by a certain angle(30°,45°,60°,120°,135°,and 150°),the fractures are produced in the middle of the line between the left tunnel corner and the right tunnel *** the impact loading angle(a)is 90°,the tunnel sustains minimal damage,and only tensile fractures form in the surrounding *** orientation of the impact load could change the stress distribution in the twin-tunnel,and major fractures are more likely to form in areas where the tensile stress is concentrated.

Potential Benefits of Green Tea in Prostate Cancer Prevention and Treatment: A Comprehensive Review

Prostate cancer is a prevalent and debilitating disease that necessitates effective prevention and treatment strategies. Green tea, a well-known beverage derived from the Camellia sinensis plant, contains bioactive compounds with potential health benefits, including catechins and polyphenols. This comprehensive review aims to explore the potential benefits of green tea in prostate cancer prevention and treatment by examining existing literature. Green tea possesses antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic properties attributed to its catechins, particularly epigallocatechin gallate. Epidemiological studies have reported an inverse association between green tea consumption and prostate cancer risk, with potential protection against aggressive forms of the disease. Laboratory studies demonstrate that green tea components inhibit tumor growth, induce apoptosis, and modulate signaling pathways critical to prostate cancer development and progression. Clinical trials and human studies further support the potential benefits of green tea. Green tea consumption has been found to be associated with a reduction in prostate-specific antigen levels, tumor markers, and played a potential role in slowing disease progression. However, challenges remain, including optimal dosage determination, formulation standardization, and conducting large-scale, long-term clinical trials. The review suggests future research should focus on combinatorial approaches with conventional therapies and personalized medicine strategies to identify patient subgroups most likely to benefit from green tea interventions.
