A new version of DNA walks, where nucleotides are regarded unequal in their contribution to a walk is introduced, which allows us to study thoroughly the “fine structure” of nucleotide sequences. The approach is based on the assumption that nucleotides have an inner abstract characteristic, the determinative degree, which reflects genetic code phenomenological prop-erties and is adjusted to nucleotides physical properties. We consider each codon position independently, which gives three separate walks characterized by different angles and lengths, and that such an object is called triander which reflects the “strength” of branch. A general method for identifying DNA sequence “by triander” which can be treated as a unique “genogram” (or “gene passport”) is proposed. The two- and three-dimensional trianders are considered. The difference of sequences fine structure in genes and the intergenic space is shown. A clear triplet signal in coding sequences was found which is absent in the intergenic space and is independent from the sequence length. This paper presents the topological classification of trianders which can allow us to provide a detailed working out signatures of functionally different genomic regions.

The expansion of the Internet of Moving Things(IoMT)leads to limitless and continuous working playgrounds exploited by highly dynamic end *** requires the adoption of multi-Radio Access Technologies(RATs)-based strategies to provide IoMT units with ubiquitous *** this end,the development of secure bootstrapping and authentication mechanisms is necessary to permit the secure operation of end *** the transmission and power limitations of these elements,current cryptographic solutions do not address these stringent *** that reason,in the study we present a Multi-Access Edge Computing(MEC)-based endto-end architecture that enables an efficient and secure authentication and key agreement between end devices and network servers over heterogeneous resource-limited networks such as the Low Power Wide Area Networks(LPWANs).Our proposal is based on the Authentication,Authorization,and Accounting(AAA)architecture and the recent Internet Engineering Task Force initiatives Static Context Header Compression and Low-Overhead *** results obtained from experimental tests reveal the validity of the proposal as it enables constrained IoMT devices to gain IPv6 connectivity as well as performs end-to-end secure authentication with notable reliability and controlled latency.

Grape cluster architecture and compactness are complex traits influencing disease susceptibility,fruit quality,and *** methods for these traits include visual scoring,manual methodologies,and computer vision,with the latter being the most scalable *** of the existing computer vision approaches for processing cluster images often rely on conventional segmentation or machine learning with extensive training and limited *** Segment Anything Model(SAM),a novel foundation model trained on a massive image dataset,enables automated object segmentation without additional *** study demonstrates out-of-the-box SAM's high accuracy in identifying individual berries in 2-dimensional(2D)cluster *** this model,we managed to segment approximately 3,500 cluster images,generating over 150,000 berry masks,each linked with spatial coordinates within their *** correlation between human-identified berries and SAM predictions was very strong(Pearson's r^(2)=0.96).Although the visible berry count in images typically underestimates the actual cluster berry count due to visibility issues,we demonstrated that this discrepancy could be adjusted using a linear regression model(adjusted R^(2)=0.87).We emphasized the critical importance of the angle at which the cluster is imaged,noting its substantial effect on berry counts and *** proposed different approaches in which berry location information facilitated the calculation of complex features related to cluster architecture and ***,we discussed SAM's potential integration into currently available pipelines for image generation and processing in vineyard conditions.

The main purpose of this work was to develop a reliable method for the determination of vanadium （V） and molybdenum （Mo） in atmosphere particles or aerosols because they can not be readily measured using conventional techniques. For this research, 30 particulate samples were collected from five different stations located at Palermo, Italy. We used the catalytic adsorptive stripping voltammetry and differential pulsed voltammetry to measure V and Mo in atmospheric particulate, respectively. The represented method includes advantages of high sensitivity, high selectivity, simplicity, reproducibility, speed and low costs. The quantification limits for V and Mo are, respectively, 0.57 and 0.80 ng·m^-3. The precision, expressed as relative standard deviation （RSD %）, was about 2% for both metals. The mean recoveries of added V and Mo were about 99.5% and ranged from 97% to 101%. Vanadium concentrations in particulate samples collected in Palermo area ranged from 0.57 to 7.7 ng·m^-3, while Mo concentrations were in the range 0.8–51 ng·m^-3. In many cases the concentrations of two elements in the particulate samples fall below the detection limits. The mean concentrations for V and Mo in particulate samples, collected in Palermo area, were respectively 3.1 and 5.9 ng·m^-3.

In Europe, computation of displacement demand for seismic assessment of existing buildings is essentially based on a simplified formulation of the N2 method as prescribed by Eurocode 8(EC8). However, a lack of accuracy of the N2 method in certain conditions has been pointed out by several studies. This paper addresses the assessment of effectiveness of the N2 method in seismic displacement demand determination in non-linear domain. The objective of this work is to investigate the accuracy of the N2 method through comparison with displacement demands computed using non-linear timehistory analysis(NLTHA). Results show that the original N2 method may lead to overestimation or underestimation of displacement demand predictions. This may affect results of mechanical model-based assessment of seismic vulnerability at an urban scale. Hence, the second part of this paper addresses an improvement of the N2 method formula by empirical evaluation of NLTHA results based on EC8 ground-classes. This task is formulated as a mathematical programming problem in which coefficients are obtained by minimizing the overall discrepancy between NLTHA and modified formula results. Various settings of the mathematical programming problem have been solved using a global optimization metaheuristic. An extensive comparison between the original N2 method formulation and optimized formulae highlights benefits of the strategy.

The Guole biota contains common shelly fossils and some exceptionally well-preserved softbodied fossils. Stratigraphically, it is located in the mudstones and siltstones of the Sandu Formation near Guole Town, Jingxi County, Guangxi, South China. It is the first Furongian （late Cambrian） Burgess Shale-type biota found in the world, thereby filling the gap between middle Cambrian and Lower Ordovician Burgess Shale-type Lagerstaitten. Preliminary studies suggest that the Guole biota includes approximately seven metazoan groups as well as algae. These will provide important new evolutionary and ecological information.
