Epalrestat improves motor symptoms by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation in the reserpine induced mouse model of Parkinson’s disease

Background:Parkinson's disease(PD)is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder affecting a large number of elderly people *** current therapies for PD are symptom-based;they do not provide a cure but improve the quality of *** dysfunction is the hallmark clinical feature of PD and oxidative stress and inflammation play a critical role in its *** is used for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy and is known to improve antioxidative defense mechanisms in the ***,in this study,we investigated the role of Epalrestat in the reserpine induced mouse model of ***:We used Swiss Albino mice for the PD model and tested for akinesia/bradykinesia,muscular rigidity,palpebral ptosis,and tremor,as well as conducting swim and open field *** samples were used to determine oxidative stress parameters and infiltration of immune ***:Epalrestat treatment significantly improved akinesia and bradykinesia,muscular dysfunctions,tremor level,and gait functions compared to the reserpine *** also improved the latency in the swim *** significantly reduced lipid peroxidation and NO concentration in different brain tissues and increased the activity of antioxidative enzymes,glutathione,catalase,and superoxide ***,Epalrestat reduced neuroinflammation by reducing the number of infiltrating immune ***:Eplarestat improves muscular dysfunction in PD by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation.

The revolution in Internet of Things(IoT)-based devices and applications has provided smart applications for *** applications range from healthcare to traffic-flow management,to communication devices,to smart security devices,and many *** particular,government and private organizations are showing significant interest in IoT-enabled applications for smart *** the perceived benefits and interest,human safety is also a key *** research is aimed at systematically analyzing the available literature on smart homes and identifying areas of concern or risk with a view to supporting the design of safe and secure smart *** this systematic review process,relevant work in the most highly regarded journals published in the period 2016–2020(a section of 2020 is included)was analyzed.A final set of 99 relevant articles(journal articles,book sections,conference papers,and survey papers)was analyzed in this *** analysis is focused on three research questions and relevant *** systematic analysis results and key insights will help researchers and practitioners to make more informed decisions when dealing with the safety and security risks of smart homes,especially in emergency situations.
