In the midst of the rapid advancement of photocatalysis,direct z-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts have emerged as a powerful solution to address environmental challenges and the looming energy *** precise engineering of direct z-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts proves highly beneficial in optimizing their elec-tronic structure,ultimately enhancing their photocatalytic ***,graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))has recently gained recognition as a leading candidate for the creation of direct z-scheme heterojunctions,owing to its favorable attributes such as a moderate band-gap(2.7 eV),high reduction potential and abundant active *** this review,we offer a concise overview of the fundamental principles and recent advancements in g-C_(3)N_(4)-based direct z-scheme photocatalytic ***,we delve into the various practical applica-tions of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based direct z-scheme photocatalysts,specifically in the realms of energy conversion and envi-ronmental *** applications include the removal of contaminant pollutants through photocatalytic degradation,water splitting(comprising H_(2)-generation,O_(2)-evolution,and overall water splitting),and CO_(2)***,we present comprehensive characterization methods and strategies aimed at further enhancing the photocatalytic activity of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based direct z-scheme photocatalytic *** conclude,this review offers summarizing insights and a brief discussion on future challenges and prospects pertaining to g-C_(3)N_(4)-based direct z-scheme *** believe that this review will inspire continued exploration and foster a deeper understanding of the groundbreaking possibilities within photocatalytic *** also provides valuable guidance for the design and construction of innovative direct z-scheme photocatalysts.

药物性肝损伤(DILI)严重危害人类健康,约20%的患者会进展至DILI的慢性化,表现为反复持续的肝脏炎症,严重者会持续进展至肝纤维化,损伤患者的生命健康和生活质量,但目前仍缺少有效预测DILI慢性化的工具。越来越多的证据表明,影像组学可应用于多种肝脏疾病的诊断分期,包括肝脏肿瘤及弥漫性肝病(如肝纤维化)。但是,目前影像组学尚未应用于DILI的慢性化预测。

Earth-abundant zn-dipyrrin chromophores for efficient CO2 photoreduction

The development of strong sensitizing and Earth-abundant antenna molecules is highly desirable for CO2reduction through artificial photosynthesis. Herein, a library of zn–dipyrrin complexes（z-1-z-6） are rationally designed via precisely controlling their molecular configuration to optimize strong sensitizing Earth-abundant photosensitizers. Upon visible-light excitation, their special geometry enables intramolecular charge transfer to induce a charge-transfer state, which was first demonstrated to accept electrons from electron donors. The resulting long-lived reduced photosensitizer was confirmed to trigger consecutive intermolecular electron transfers for boosting CO2-to-CO conversion. Remarkably, the Earth-abundant catalytic system with z-6 and Fe-catalyst exhibits outstanding performance with a turnover number of >20 000 and 29.7% quantum yield, representing excellent catalytic performance among the molecular catalytic systems and highly superior to that of noble-metal photosensitizer Ir（ppy）2（bpy）+under similar conditions. Experimental and theoretical investigations comprehensively unveil the structure–activity relationship, opening up a new horizon for the development of Earth-abundant strong sensitizing chromophores for boosting artificial photosynthesis.

Femoral Access with Ultrasound-Guided Puncture and z-Stitch Hemostasis for Adults with Congenital Heart Diseases Undergoing Electrophysiological Procedures

Aims:Although the application of ultrasound-guided vascular puncture and z-stitch hemostasis to manage femoral access has been widely utilized,there is limited data on this combined application in adult congenital heart disease(ACHD)patients undergoing electrophysiological(EP)*** sought to evaluate the safety and efﬁcacy of ultrasound-guided puncture and postprocedural z-stitch hemostasis for ACHD patients under-going EP *** and Results:The population of ACHD patients undergoing transfemoral EP pro-cedures at the University of zurich Heart Center between January 2019 and December 2022 was observed and *** the study period,femoral access(left/right,arterial/venous)was performed under real-time ultrasound *** the end of the procedure,a single z-stitch was performed at the puncture *** eval-uated the incidence of in-hospital complications associated with femoral access puncture in this *** 101 patients who had a total of 147 previous ipsilateral vascular punctures(mean 1.5 per person),100 patients underwent successful femoral vascular access for EP *** median age of the patients was 47±15 years and 34(34%)were male.z-stitches were performed after the procedure in 100 patients with 303 femoral vascular accesses(mean 3 punctures per person).No patient developed vascular puncture relevant inguinal hematoma,pseudo aneurysm,arteriovenousﬁstula,venous or arterial ***:In ACHD patients undergoing EP procedures,optimal femoral access management can be achieved with ultra-sound-guided puncture and postprocedural z-stitch hemostasis.

Visualizing Wallerian degeneration in the corticospinal tract after sensorimotor cortex ischemia in mice

Stroke can cause Wallerian degeneration in regions outside of the brain,particularly in the corticospinal *** investigate the fate of major glial cells and axons within affected areas of the corticospinal tract following stroke,we induced photochemical infarction of the sensorimotor cortex leading to Wallerian degeneration along the full extent of the corticospinal *** first used a routine,sensitive marker of axonal injury,amyloid precursor protein,to examine Wallerian degeneration of the corticospinal *** antibody to amyloid precursor protein mapped exclusively to proximal axonal segments within the ischemic cortex,with no positive signal in distal parts of the corticospinal tract,at all time *** improve visualization of Wallerian degeneration,we next utilized an orthograde virus that expresses green fluorescent protein to label the corticospinal tract and then quantitatively evaluated green fluorescent protein-expressing *** this approach,we found that axonal degeneration began on day 3 post-stroke and was almost complete by 7 days after *** addition,microglia mobilized and activated early,from day 7 after stroke,but did not maintain a phagocytic state over ***,astrocytes showed relatively delayed mobilization and a moderate response to Wallerian ***,no anterograde degeneration of spinal anterior horn cells was observed in response to Wallerian degeneration of the corticospinal *** conclusion,our data provide evidence for dynamic,pathogenic spatiotemporal changes in major cellular components of the corticospinal tract during Wallerian degeneration.

Bacillus anthracis lethal toxin(LT)is a determinant of lethal *** function in myeloid cells is required for bacterial dissemination,and LT itself can directly trigger dysfunction of the cardiovascular *** interplay between LT and the host responses is important in the pathogenesis,but our knowledge on this interplay remains *** necrosis factor-a(TNF-a)is a pleiotropic pro-inflammatory cytokine induced by bacterial *** LT accumulates and cytokines,predominantly TNF,amass during *** infection,co-treatment of TNF+LT in mice was used to mimic in vivo conditions for LT to function in inflamed *** marrow transplantation and genetically engineered mice showed unexpectedly that the death of intestinal epithelial cells(IECs)rather than that of hematopoietic cells led to LT+TNF-induced *** of p38a mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)signaling by LT in IECs promoted TNF-induced apoptosis and necroptosis of IECs,leading to intestinal damage and mouse ***,p38a inhibition by LT enhanced TNF-mediated cell death in human colon epithelial HT-29 *** intestinal damage is one of the leading causes of lethality in anthrax patients,the IEC damage caused by LT+TNF would most likely be a mechanism underneath this clinical manifestation and could be a target for interventions.

We have studied the optical spectra of low-dimensional semiconductor systems by calculating all possible optical transitions between electronic states. Optical absorption and emission have been obtained under different carrier population conditions and in different photon wavelengths. The line-shapes of the peaks in the optical spectrum are determined by the density of electronic states of the system, and the symmetries and intensities of these peaks can be improved by reducing the dimensionality of the system. Optical gain requires in general a population inversion, whereas for a quantum-dot system, there exists a threshold value of the population inversion.

Wettability and corrosion behavior between alkaline slag from sodium smelting of vanadium-titanium magnetite and refractory substrates

The sodium smelting of vanadium-titanium magnetite can achieve the comprehensive utilization of Fe,V,and ***,the generation of alkaline slag during this process may cause damage to refractory *** wettability and corrosion behavior of alkaline slag on three types of refractory(MgO-C,SiC,and high alumina refractory)substrates were investigated at temperatures up to 1200℃.The effects of duration on the wettability of molten slag on SiC substrates were also *** showed that the high alumina refractory exhibited better wettability with the molten slag than the others,and thus,it is easier to be *** results of scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive spectroscopy showed that MgO-C and high alumina refractory substrates were severely *** was a visible and regular interfacial reaction layer between the slag and SiC refractory substrate,which was produced by the redox reaction between the metal oxides in the slag and the SiC refractory *** the increase in holding time,the interface layer expands and silico-ferrite phases are generated at the *** redox reaction between Fe_(2)O_(3) and SiC substrate is the main reason for the *** comparing the differences in wettability and corrosion behavior between the alkaline slag from sodium smelting of vanadium-titanium magnetite and MgO-C,SiC and high alumina refractories,it is concluded that SiC refractory has good corrosion resistance to the *** oxides in the slag accelerate the oxidation rate of SiC refractory.
