Precipitation of multi-type nano-quasicrystals in a Mg-zn-Y alloy

Mg-6zn-1Y(at.%)ribbons with strengthening precipitates of multi-type nanoquasicrystals were prepared by melt-spinning followed by aging *** evolution of the rapidly solidified ribbons during isothermal aging was comprehensively studied using various electron microscopy *** new kinds of decagonal quasicrystals were formed in aged ribbons,in addition to precipitation of nanometer icosahedral ***-resolution observations reveal that both decagonal quasicrystals can be modeled by quasiperiodic tiling with decagonal clusters of 2.5 nm in diameter,but overlap of neighboring clusters in both decagonal quasicrystals is different from the Gummelt model observed in other quasicrystals.A shell composed of complex Laves Mg-zn domains was formed surrounding each decagonal quasicrystal precipitate upon prolonged *** addition,all kinds of nanoprecipitates exhibit excellent structure and size stability at 573 *** findings may have implications for not only fundamental studies about quasicrystals,but also microstructural manipulation of high-performance Mg alloys.

Post-layout simulation provides accurate guidance for analog circuit design, but post-layout performance is hard to be directly optimized at early design stages. Prior work on analog circuit sizing often utilizes pre-layout simulation results as the optimization objective. In this work, we propose a post-layoutsimulation-driven(post-simulation-driven for short) analog circuit sizing framework that directly optimizes the post-layout simulation performance. The framework integrates automated layout generation into the optimization loop of transistor sizing and leverages a coupled Bayesian optimization algorithm to search for the best post-simulation performance. Experimental results demonstrate that our framework can achieve over 20% better post-layout performance in competitive time than manual design and the method that only considers pre-layout optimization.

In this paper, a static deflection model of MEMS cantilever beam is proposed, which can better study the force deformation of micro-electro-mechanical system(MEMS) cantilever beam and the output characteristics of capacitive microwave power sensor. The deflection curve is used to describe the deformation of the cantilever beam and then the overload power and sensitivity of this power sensor are derived. It is found that the overload power decreases with the beam length, and increases with the initial height of beam. The sensitivity increases with the beam length, and has a linear growth relationship with the measuring electrode width. A MEMS dual-channel microwave power sensor is designed, fabricated and measured. At a microwave signal frequency of 10 GHz, the sensitivity of the sensor is measured to be 0.11 V/W for the thermoelectric detection channel and 65.17 fF/W for the capacitive detection channel. The sensitivity calculated by the lumped model is 92.93 fF/W, that by the pivot model is 50.88 fF/W,and that by the deflection model proposed in this work is 75.21 fF/W. Therefore, the theoretical result of the static deflection model is more consistent with the measured result and has better accuracy than the traditional lumped model and pivot model.

For investigating efficiently the stagnation kinetic-process of z-pinch,we develop a novel modified electrostatic implicit particle-in-cell algorithm in radial one-dimension for z-pinch simulation in which a small-angle cumulative binary collision algorithm is *** our algorithm,the electric field in z-direction is solved by a parallel electrode-plate model,the azimuthal magnetic field is obtained by Ampere’s law,and the term for charged particle gyromotion is approximated by the cross product of the averaged velocity and magnetic *** simulation results of 2 MA deuterium plasma shell zpinch,the mass-center implosion trajectory agrees generally with that obtained by one-dimensional MHD simulation,and the plasma current also closely aligns with the external *** phase space diagrams and radial-velocity probability distributions of ions and electrons are *** main kinetic characteristic of electron motion is thermal equilibrium and oscillation,which should be oscillated around the ions,while that of ion motion is implosion *** the region of stagnation radius,the radial-velocity probability distribution of ions transits from the non-equilibrium to equilibrium state with the current increasing,while of electrons is basically the equilibrium *** the initial ion density and current peak are not high enough,the ions may not reach their thermal equilibrium state through collisions even in its stagnation phase.
