There is growing evidence of the high transmission potential of COVID-19 through virus-laden *** aerosols are inhaled in various concentrations,an overall assessment of transmission risks at different indoor scales is ***,a comprehensive risk assessment method that evaluates the direct link between short-range and room-scale zones is stl *** this paper,a risk assessment model combining both short-range and room-scale effects is developed to obtain effective reproduction number in confined indoor environments,called Turbulent Jet Wells Riley(TJWR)*** with the viral load data and aerosol generation data of different human respiratory activities,the Monte Carlo simulation method is applied to calculate the quanta emission rate,which further provides the input parameters of the TJWR *** known outbreaks(Hangzhou banquet hall x,Guangzhou restaurant Y,and Hong Kong restaurant z,China)are chosen to validate the TJWR *** show that the TJWR model is more efficient than the original Wells-Riley *** average relative error of the TJWR model ranges between 9%and 44%,while for the Wells-Riley model,it ranges between 57%and 78%.The TJWR model also proves that infection risk assessments using the well-mixed assumption can systematically underestimate the transmission risk for those close to the ***,there is a significant positive linear correlation between the total number of exposed individuals at the short-range and the effective reproduction *** newly developed TJWR model has great potential for rapid and real-time overall airborne transmission risk assessment in buildings and cities.

Locally repairable codes（LRCs）, which can recover any symbol of a codeword by reading only a small number of other symbols, have been widely used in real-world distributed storage systems, such as Microsoft Azure Storage and Ceph Storage Cluster. Since binary linear LRCs can significantly reduce coding and decoding complexity, constructions of binary LRCs are of particular interest. The aim of this paper is to construct dimensional optimal binary LRCs with disjoint local repair groups. We introduce a method to connect intersection subspaces with binary LRCs and construct dimensional optimal binary linear LRCs with locality 2b（b 3） and minimum distance d 6 by employing intersection subspaces deduced from the direct sum. This method will sufficiently increase the number of possible repair groups of dimensional optimal LRCs, thus efficiently expanding the range of the construction parameters while keeping the largest code rates compared with all known binary linear LRCs with minimum distance d 6 and locality 2b.

Maximizing conditional independence for unsupervised domain adaptation

Unsupervised domain adaptation(UDA) studies how to transfer a learner from a labeled source domain to an unlabeled target domain with different distributions. Existing methods mainly focus on matching marginal distributions of the source and target domains, which probably leads to a misalignment of samples from the same class but different domains. In this paper, we tackle this misalignment issue by achieving the class-conditioned transferring from a new perspective. Specifically, we propose a method named maximizing conditional independence(MCI) for UDA, which maximizes the conditional independence of feature and domain given class in the reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. The optimization of conditional independence can be viewed as a surrogate for minimizing class-wise mutual information between feature and domain. An interpretable empirical estimation of the conditional dependence measure is deduced and connected with the unconditional case. Besides, we provide an upper bound on the target error by taking the class-conditional distribution into account, which provides a new theoretical insight for class-conditioned transferring. Extensive experiments on six benchmark datasets and various ablation studies validate the effectiveness of the proposed model in dealing with UDA.

Transfer learning could reduce the time and resources required by the training of new models and be therefore important for generalized applications of the trainedmachine learning *** this study,a transfer learningenhanced convolutional neural network(CNN)was proposed to identify the gross weight and the axle weight of moving vehicles on the *** proposed transfer learning-enhanced CNN model was expected to weigh different bridges based on a small amount of training datasets and provide high identification *** of all,a CNN algorithm for bridge weigh-in-motion(B-WIM)technology was proposed to identify the axle weight and the gross weight of the typical two-axle,three-axle,and five-axle vehicles as they crossed the bridge with different loading routes and ***,the pre-trained CNN model was transferred by fine-tuning to weigh themoving vehicle on another ***,the identification accuracy and the amount of training data required were compared between the two CNN *** showed that the pre-trained CNN model using transfer learning for B-WIM technology could be successfully used for the identification of the axle weight and the gross weight for moving vehicles on another bridge while reducing the training data by 63%.Moreover,the recognition accuracy of the pre-trained CNN model using transfer learning was comparable to that of the original model,showing its promising potentials in the actual applications.

Cholestatic liver disease is a group of diseases in which bile acid accumulates in the liver for various reasons,resulting in abnormal liver biochemical indicators and histological *** can be divided into intrahepatic cholestasis and extrahepatic cholestasis,which will contribute to liver damage and progress to liver fibrosis and *** biliary cholangitis(PBC)and primary sclerosing cholangitis are the two most typical cholestatic liver *** acid is currently the first-line treatment for PBC,while obeticholic acid,budesonide and fibrates have also shown good potential in the treatment of *** are currently no official drugs approved to treat primary sclerosing cholangitis,and the use of ursodeoxycholic acid may have certain clinical *** present,progress has been made in new treatment directions for cholestatic liver disease,including fibroblast growth factor 19,cholestyramine,S-adenosyl-L-methionine,steroid drugs,farnesoid x receptor agonists,and *** progress has been made in the management of cholestatic liver disease but there are still many opportunities and *** this review,we summarized the recommended guidelines for the management of cholestatic disease and the progress of new drug research and development,in order to provide an important reference for the clinical practice of cholestatic liver disease.

A multi-relaxation-time discrete Boltzmann model(DBM) with split collision is proposed for both subsonic and supersonic compressible reacting flows, where chemical reactions take place among various components. The physical model is based on a unified set of discrete Boltzmann equations that describes the evolution of each chemical species with adjustable acceleration, specific heat ratio, and Prandtl number. On the right-hand side of discrete Boltzmann equations, the collision,force, and reaction terms denote the change rates of distribution functions due to self-and crosscollisions, external forces, and chemical reactions, respectively. The source terms can be calculated in three ways, among which the matrix inversion method possesses the highest physical accuracy and computational efficiency. Through Chapman-Enskog analysis, it is proved that the DBM is consistent with the reactive Navier-Stokes equations, Fick's law and the Stefan-Maxwell diffusion equation in the hydrodynamic limit. Compared with the one-step-relaxation model, the split collision model offers a detailed and precise description of hydrodynamic, thermodynamic, and chemical nonequilibrium effects. Finally, the model is validated by six benchmarks, including multicomponent diffusion, mixture in the force field, Kelvin-Helmholtz instability, flame at constant pressure, opposing chemical reaction, and steady detonation.

Photoelectrocatalytic seawater splitting is a promising low-cost method to produce green hydrogen in a large *** effects of Cl^(-)ions in seawater on the performance of a photoanode have been reported in previous ***,few researches have been done on the roles of Cl^(-)ions in a ***,for the first time,we find that Cl^(-)ions in the electrolyte improve the photocurrent of a Si/In_(2)S_(3) photocathode by 50% at-0.6 V_(RHE).An in-situ x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(xPS)characterization combined with the time-of-flight secondary-ion mass spectrometry by simulating photoelectrochemical conditions was used to investigate the interface charge transfer *** results suggest that there is an In_(2)^(+3)S_(3-x)(OH)_(2x)layer on the surface of In_(2)S_(3) in the phosphate buffer solution(PBS)electrolyte,which plays a role as an interface charge transfer mediator in the Si/In_(2)S_(3) *** In_(2)^(+3)S_(3-x)(OH)_(2x)surface layer becomes In_(2)^(+3)S_(3-x)(Cl)_(2x)in the PBS electrolyte with NaCl and accelerates the charge transfer rate at the In_(2)S_(3)/electrolyte *** results offer a new concept of regulating interface charge transfer mediator to enhance the performance of photoelectrocatalytic seawater splitting for hydrogen production.
