Angiotensin II (Ang II) is the main mediator of the Renin-Angiotensin-System acting on AT1 and other AT receptors. It is regarded as a pleiotropic agent that induces many actions, including functioning as a growth factor, and as a contractile hormone, among others. The aim of this work was to examine the impact of Ang II on the expression and function of α1-adrenergic receptors (α1-ARs) in cultured rat aorta, and aorta-derived smooth muscle cells. Isolated Wistar rat aorta was incubated for 24 h in DMEM at 37˚C, then subjected to isometric tension and to the action of added norepinephrine, in concentration-response curves. Ang II was added (1 × 10−5 M), and in some experiments, 5-Methylurapidil (α1A-AR antagonist), AH11110A (α1B-AR antagonist), or BMY-7378 (α1D-AR antagonist), were used to identify the α1-AR involved in the response. Desensitization of the contractile response to norepinephrine was observed due to incubation time, and by the Ang II action. α1D-AR was protected from desensitization by BMY-7378;while RS-100329 and prazosin partially mitigated desensitization. In another set of experiments, isolated aorta-derived smooth muscle cells were exposed to Ang II and α1-ARs proteins were evaluated. α1D-AR increased at 30 and 60 min post Ang II exposure, the α1A-AR diminished from 1 to 4 h, while α1B-AR remained unchanged over 24 h of Ang II exposure. Ang II induced an increase of α1D-AR at short times, and BMY-7378 protected α1D-AR from desensitization.

Goals: The aim of this study was to determine the antibiotic resistance profile of serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae strains circulating in Bangui. Methodology: A prospective and analytical analysis was carried out at the National Laboratory of Clinical Biology and Public Health from 2017 to 2022. The strains came from our study on the contribution to the study of antibiotic sensitivity of Streptococcus pneumoniae strains. The multiplex PCR test was used for its cost-effectiveness in terms of amplifiers which can be purified in order to be sequenced. It also makes it possible to detect several germs as well as their serotypes. For a PCR reaction, several elements are involved in the reaction medium or Master Mix. These are the desoxyribonucleotides (dNTPs), the magnesium ions (MgCl2) and the primers. A set of 14 primers divided into 3 classes were used. Class 1 primers served as an internal control by targeting the cpsA gene. It is a highly conserved gene found in capsular loci characterized to date. The primers of the second class were used to target specific serotypes by specific reactions (out of six possibilities). The group reaction was carried out using the primers of the third class in order to carry out an initial screening of the samples and to classify the pneumococcal isolates. Related serotypes were grouped based on the amplification of common genes. Using the technique of electrophoresis on agarose gel and an ultraviolet radiation device, the migration bands are then visualized and analyzed. The data collected had been entered into Excel 2010 and analyzed with Epi info 7. The exact Fischer chi2 test at the 5% threshold, the relative risk and its 95% confidence interval were used to compare the proportions and determine the associations. Results: 187 antibiotic-resistant strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae were collected. Thin-shell wormholes and modified Chaplygin gas with relativistic corrections

In this paper,we analyze thin-shell wormholes from two identical copies of charged static cylindrically symmetric spacetimes using Visser’s‘cut and paste’approach under the influence of f(R,T)gravity Harko,Lobo,Nojiri,and Odintsov(2011,***.D 84,024020).In this scenario,the modified Chaplygin gas supports the exotic matter in the shell which allows,one to examine the dynamics of constructed *** utilize the junction condition to connect the interior and exterior geometries across the hypersurface and calculate different components of the Lanczos equation recently computed by Roza in Rosa(2021,***.D 103,104069).We analyze the stability of the thin-shell wormhole models under linear perturbations while keeping the cylindrical symmetry and also examine the influence of charge on their *** positive quantity of the second derivative of potential at the throat radius might be interpreted as the stability *** find both unstable and stable wormhole solutions for different parameters included in the equation of state and specific forms of considered gravity and illustrate them theoretically as well as *** examine the impact of electric charge on the stability region of a constructed wormhole,which suggests that a wormhole model with a charge may exhibit more stable behavior compared to an uncharged system.

Background:Newly diagnosed breast cancer patients experience symptoms that may affect their quality of life,treatment outcomes,and *** and managing breast cancer-related symptoms soon after diagnosis is *** purpose of this study was to investigate the associations between health-related fitness(HRF)and patient-reported symptoms in newly diagnosed breast cancer ***:This study utilized baseline data from the Alberta Moving Beyond Breast Cancer Cohort Study that were collected within 90 days of *** measures included peak cardiopulmonary fitness(peak volume of oxygen consumption(VO_(2peak))),maximal muscular strength and endurance,flexibility,and body *** measures included depression,sleep quality,and *** multivariable logistic regression was performed for ***:Of 1458 participants,51.5%reported poor sleep quality,26.5%reported significant fatigue,and 10.4%reported moderate *** multivariable-adjusted models,lower relative VO_(2peak)was independently associated with a greater likelihood of all symptom measures,including moderate depression(p<0.001),poor sleep quality(p=0.009),significant fatigue(p=0.008),any symptom(p<0.001),and multiple symptoms(p<0.001).VO_(2peak)demonstrated threshold associations with all symptom measures such that all 3 lower quartiles exhibited similar elevated risk compared to the highest *** strength of the threshold associations varied by the symptom measure with odds ratios ranging from-1.5 for poor sleep quality to-3.0 for moderate depression and multiple ***,lower relative upper body muscular endurance was also independently associated with fatigue in a dose-response manner(p=0.001),and higher body weight was independently associated with poor sleep quality in an inverted U pattern(p=0.021).Conclusion:Relative VO_(2peak)appears to be a critical HRF component associated with multiple patient-reported symptoms in newly diag

Overweight/Obesity in University Students from Mexico: Comparison Using Different Indices

The goal was to compare body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), waist to height ratio (WHtR), and relative fat mas (RFM), to identify the best predictor of overweight and obesity in university students from Mexico. This is a cross-sectional survey with 697 university students from northern and central Mexico (448 women, and 249 men aged 18 - 19 years). Data was collected during 2018. Overweight and obesity were calculated from those indices and for both, female and male students, the order of correlation between a pair of indices were WHtR vs. RFM > WHtR vs. WC > RFM vs. WC > WHtR vs. BMI > BMI vs. WC > RFM vs. BMI. It is concluded to use the WHtR and the RFM to better predict overweight and obesity in young Mexican university students.

二叠纪是青藏高原各块体演化的关键时段,发生了一系列重大地质和生物事件,当时横跨南北半球统一的泛大陆演化到了鼎盛阶段,阻断了全球东西向的赤道暖流的同时,在泛大陆的东侧形成了一个半封闭的、具有重要历史意义的特提斯洋暖池,是古-中生代之交生物与环境演变的引擎.青藏高原二叠纪地层分布广泛、化石丰富,从南到北由于跨越不同的纬度带体现出不同的特点.雅鲁藏布江以南的喜马拉雅特提斯带当时位于冈瓦纳大陆印度板块北缘,整个二叠纪沉积含有典型的冈瓦纳冷水型生物群;雅鲁藏布江缝合带内的灰岩外来体时代集中在瓜德鲁普世(Guadalupian,中二叠世)中、晚期至早三叠世,古生物地理与喜马拉雅特提斯带有显著差异,最有可能为新特提斯洋中的海山型沉积.基墨里(Cimmerian)微地块群在乌拉尔世(Cisuralian,早二叠世)早期阿瑟尔期-萨克马尔期(Asselian-Sakmarian)全部位于冈瓦纳大陆北缘,均发育冰海相沉积及冈瓦纳型冷水生物群.乌拉尔世中期(约290~280Ma)基墨里微地块群由于印度板块北缘Panjal Traps等大火成岩省岩浆活动与冈瓦纳大陆裂解,并以不同的速度向北漂移.可以分为两个条带,由南羌塘、保山和Sibuma地块组成的北基墨里微地块群漂移速度较快,在亚丁斯克期(Artinskian)就已经出现大量碳酸盐岩沉积和暖水生物群,因此,它们最先从冈瓦纳大陆裂解并进入低纬度暖水区域;而由拉萨、腾冲和Irrawaddy地块组成的南基墨里微地块群,漂移速度相对较慢,在空谷(Kungurian)晚期才开始出现大规模碳酸盐岩沉积,并延续至乐平世(Lopingian,晚二叠世),瓜德鲁普世和乐平世地层中含暖水生物为主的动物群,因此,这些地块至少在空谷晚期已经从冈瓦纳大陆北缘分离,裂解时间稍晚于北基墨里微地块群;这种沉积和古生物地理的时空演变差异性表明乌拉尔世的裂解事件造成了中特提斯洋和新特提斯洋的开启和形成.更北的北羌塘地块由于整个二叠纪地层中均含有典型的暖水生物群,与华南地区、思茅地块和印支地块等可以比较,属于古特提斯洋北部的块体.因此,二叠纪中、晚期特提斯域形成了古、中、新特提斯多岛洋共存的局面,是当时构造活动最活跃的地区和全球生物多样性的中心.此外,青藏高原多个块体在二叠纪位于南半球中高纬度地区,完整记录了晚古生代大冰期、亚丁斯克期全球变暖和二叠纪末快速变暖等重大古气候事件,对于阐明板块运动和全球气候演变对生物群时空分布的影响具有举足轻重的作用.

目的:利用含高浓度4-硝基喹啉-1-氧化物(4NQO)的水与固体饲料相结合方式,旨在探讨短时间构建高生存率舌癌小鼠模型的方法。方法:将12只BALB/c小鼠随机分为对照组(H2O,n=4)、中剂量实验组(250μg/mL 4NQO,n=4)和高剂量实验组(300μg/mL 4NQO,n=4),固液交替喂养,对小鼠的外貌、体质量和舌黏膜状态进行观察并记录,12周后处死小鼠,取材进行HE染色。结果:研究发现中剂量组的小鼠均造模成功,其中3只小鼠的舌黏膜出现乳头状样新生物,并且HE染色发现癌巢及角化珠的病理特征,余1只小鼠舌黏膜仅出现白斑样改变,病理表现为舌黏膜上皮重度异型增生。而高剂量组中的小鼠在造模过程中全部死亡。结论:250μg/mL 4NQO能在12周内成功诱导出舌癌小鼠模型,并能保证较高的生存率。

Complexity of charged anisotropic spherically symmetric fluids in f(G)gravity

The present study aimed to evaluate multi-element concentrations(Al,As,Ca,Cd,Co,Cr,Cu,Fe,Mg,Mn,Mo,Ni,Pb,Sr)in suspended particulate material(SPM)collected from Ensenada de La Paz(ELP)lagoon,Baja California Sur,Mexico in two different periods(September and May)to comprehend their origin,geochemical behavior,mass transfer and associated ecotoxicological *** 24 hr variation coefficient of volumetric SPM levels were found to be 51.7%in September and 40.5%in May,signifying the effects of oceanic *** calculated enrichment factor(EF)values for all the studied elements were of higher magnitude because of the high surface area and oxide nature of SPM,and in this study,Mo had the highest EF of 46.77 probably due to its origin from continental *** the ecotoxicological perspective,the integrated toxic risk index revealed low toxic risk to the benthic ***,the mean-ERM-Quotient calculated using the particulate concentrations of As,Cd,Cr,Cu,Ni,Pb indicated 9%probability of toxicity to *** comprehensive geochemical and ecotoxicological assessment of particulate metal concentrations in the ELP lagoon signify low to moderate contamination.
