Shrubby seablite or lani(Suaeda fruticosa Forssk)is a perennial euhalophyte with succulent leaves,which could be planted on arid-saline lands for restoration and cultivated as a non-conventional edible or cash *** about the impacts of maternal saline environment on seed attributes of this important euhalophyte is *** study investigated the effects of maternal salinity on yield,siz. and stress tolerance of *** *** of *** were grown in a green net house under increasing maternal salinity levels(0,300,600 and 900 mM NaCl)until seed *** yield,siz.,stress tolerance and germination of the descended seeds under different maternal saline conditions were *** grown under saline conditions(300,600 and 900 mM NaCl)produce a substantially higher quantity of seeds than plants grown under non-saline condition(0 mM NaCl).Low maternal salinity(300 mM NaCl)improves seed *** produced under all maternal salinity levels display a higher tolerance to low temperature(night/day thermoperiod of 10℃/20℃),whereas seeds produced under 300 mM NaCl maternal saline condition show a better tolerance to high temperature(night/day thermoperiod of 25℃/35℃)during *** from all maternal saline conditions germinate better in the 12 h photoperiod(12 h light/12 h dark)than in the dark(24 h dark);however,seeds produced from low and moderate maternal saline conditions(300 and 600 mM NaCl)show a higher germination in the dark than those from control and high maternal saline conditions(0 and 900 mM NaCl).In general,maternal salinity is found to improve yield,siz. and stress tolerance of *** seeds.

Fission cross-sections of ^(119)Sn and ^(209)Bi induced by negative pions of two energies 500 and 672 MeV were measured using a CR−39 nuclear track ***-detector stacks were exposed to pion beams at the Brookhaven National Laboratory(USA).Measurement results are compared with the corresponding calculations using the computer code *** between measurements and calculations is fairly good for the ^(209)Bi target nuclei whereas it is poor for 119Sn at both investigated energies of 500 and 672 *** cross−section results of^( 119)Sn and ^(209)Bi are explained using the equilibrium properties of these nuclides including nuclear electric quadrupole moments which determine the shapes of nuclei.A logarithmic dependence of fission cross−section on z.(2)/A is observed for the above−mentioned reactions and a critical limit of z.(2)/A is identified with the value of 30 which divides the curve ofσf versus z./A into two regimes,one with weak dependence and the other with strong dependence.

We investigate 158A GeV 207Pb projectile fragmentation on Al target using CR-39 nuclear track detectors. A stack containing target-detectors assembly was irradiated at SPS-CERN. After chemical etching, detectors were scanned using an optical microscope to collect the data in the form of etched cone heights. From the cone height measurements, total and partial charge changing cross sections of 207Pb projectiles on aluminum target are determined. The results are compared with both relevant published measurements available in the literature and model predictions. Odd-even effect in the formation of the fragments of 158A GeV 207Pb pro-jectiles is observed in a consistent and a clear manner over the observed range of fragments (z.63-81). This is achieved by using optimiz.d etching and track measurement conditions.

AIM:To investigate the relationship between reflux and body mass index(BMI) in the asymptomatic obese population using the impedance-p H ***:Gastroesophageal reflux is frequent in the obese ***,the relationship between acid reflux and BMI in asymptomatic obese people is ***-six obese(BMI > 25 kg/m2) people were enrolled in this prospective *** evaluated the demographic findings and 24-h impedance p H values of the whole ***,acid(p H 30 kg/m2).Demographic and endoscopic findings,and impedance results were similar in these two ***,there was a positive correlation between BMI and total and supine p H<4 episodes(P=0.002,r=0.414;P=0.000,r=0.542),p H<4 reflux time(P=0.015,r=0.319;P=0.003,r=0.403),and De Meester score(P=0.012,r=0.333).CONCLUSION:Acid reflux is correlated with BMI in asymptomatic obese individuals.

Wild relatives possess potential genetic diversity for maiz. (Zea mays L.) improvement. Characterization of maize-mexicana introgression lines (ILs) is of great value to diversify the genetic base and improve the maize germplasm. Four maize-mexicana IL generations, i.e. BC1, BC2, BC3, and RIL, were constructed under the elite inbred background of 48-2, elite inbred line that is widely used in maize breeding in Southwestern China, and were phenotyped in different years and genotyped with 56110 SNPs. The results indicated that 48-2 had higher phenotypic performances than all the characterized ILs on most of the agronomic traits. Compared with other ILs, BC2 individuals exhibited more similar performance to 48-2 on most traits and possessed the highest kernel ratio (66.5%). Population structure and principal component analysis indicated that BC3 individuals gathered closer to 48-2 and exhibited the lowest mexicana-introgression frequency (0.50%), while BC2 (29.06%) and RIL (18.52%) showed higher introgression frequency. Individuals who are unable to walk independently spend most of the day in a *** population is at high risk for developing pressure injuries caused by ***,early diagnosis and prevention of these injuries still remain ***,we introduce battery-free,wireless,multimodal sensors and a movable system for continuous measurement of pressure,temperature,and hydration at skin *** device design includes a crack-activated pressure sensor with nanoscale encapsulations for enhanced sensitivity,a temperature sensor for measuring skin temperature,and a galvanic skin response sensor for measuring skin hydration *** movable system enables power harvesting,and data communication to multiple wireless devices mounted at skin-cushion interfaces of wheelchair users over full body *** evaluations and numerical simulations of the devices,together with clinical trials for wheelchair patients,demonstrate the feasibility and stability of the sensor system for preventing pressure injuries caused by sitting.
