To address the current issues with the conventional slide gate system utiliz.d in the steel teeming process,a unique electromagnetic induction controlled automated steel teeming(EICAST)technology has been *** means of spiral coil in this technology is directly related to its service ***,heat transfer processes of air cooling and spray cooling were compared and ***,the impacts of water temperature,water flow rate and air flow rate were examined in order to maximiz. the spray cooling *** maintain coil temperature at a low value consistently throughout the entire thermal cycle process of the ladle,a combined cooling mode was finally *** simulation was applied to examine the coil temperature variation with different cooling systems and *** coil operation,spray cooling is said to be more *** controlling the water flow rate and air flow rate,the spray cooling effect is ***,water temperature has little or no impact when using spray *** cooling during the secondary refining process and spray cooling prior to coil operation are combined to further lower coil *** the direction of the spray cooling is from bottom to top,the coil temperature is lowered below 165℃.A practical induction coil cooling plan was provided for the EICAST technology’s production process.

Mesoporous Carbon-Tin Nanocomposites as Anode Materials for Li-ion Battery

A new mesoporous carbon-tin （MC-Sn） nanocomposite has been successfully prepared via a two-step method. From the transmission electron microscopy （TEM） observations, the tin nanoparticles were decorated on the as-prepared mesoporous carbons. The mesoprous structure of the carbon can effectively buffer the volume changes during the Li-Sn alloying and de-alloying cycles. The as-prepared MC/Sn nanocomposite electrodes exhibited extremely good cycling stability, with the specific capacity of Sn in the composite electrode calculated to be 959.7 mAh-g-1, which amounts to an impressive 90.9% of the theoretical value （990 mAh-g-1）. The reversible capacity after 200 cycles is 96.1% of the first cycle reversible capacity, i.e., the capacity fade rate is only 0.0195% per cycle, which is even better than that of commercial graphite-based anodes.

MECHANISM OF SOUND gENERATION BY FLOW OVER TWO CAVITIES IN TWO DIMENSIONS

The mechanism of sound generation by flow over two cavities in two dimensions is studied by examining the evolution of vorticity, pressure level, spectra and directivity of the generated sound. The study shows that the sound pressure level for two cavities is higher than that for a single cavity. When the distance between the two cavities is large, the interaction between vortices caused by cavities is weak enough to be negligible, so that the results from the acoustic analogy approach coincide with those from the superposition principle. When the distance between the two cavities is relatively small, however, the interaction between vortices becomes stronger and the results from acoustic analogy approach are then larger than those from the superposition principle. Regarding the nonlinear interaction of sound waves in the far field, high harmonic waves can occur when the dimensions of the two cavities are equal, while the sum and difference frequency waves besides the high harmonic waves appear when the dimensions of the two cavities are different.

With increasing attention to complex fluids and soft matter, we have witnessed a fast- growing research in mesoscopic modeling and simulation in the past decades. The development of mesoscopic methods offers many potential opportunities as well as challenges in modeling of complex materials for diverse applications. Despite significant progress in the past decade, mesoscopic methods are still under development. New formulation in the models, novel theo- retical interpretations, and innovative numerical algorithms often appear in literature. These mesoscopic methods have been already applied to a large number of problems, including poly- mer and colloidal suspensions, multiphase fluids, biological materials, and blood rheology. New applications of mesoscopic modeling in different areas are still emerging.

Palaeowind reconstruction from Lower Cretaceous wavedominated depositional records of the Tanan Depression,Northeast Asia

Palaeowind regime is an important component for reconstructing palaeoclimate and understanding ancient global *** applied the beach-ridge thickness technique(BTT)and the longshore-bar thickness technique(LTT)to reconstruct the Early Cretaceous palaeowind velocities based on depositional records of Tanan Depression in Northeast *** thickness of beach ridges and nearshore bars is the most important parameter for applying the BTT and the LTT *** identified 22 beach ridges and 23 nearshore bars based on drilling cores and wireline-log data in the Tanan *** velocities calculated by using the LTT method ranged from 10.84 to 13.66 m/s,showing a narrower range than those calculated by using the BTT method(7.58–15.93 m/s).We further analyz.d the underlying factors causing the difference between the results derived from these two methods based on the sedimentary process of the beach ridge and the nearshore *** reconstructed wind regime was assumed to be the summer monsoon originating from the Mongol-Okhotsk Ocean before it had been completely enclosed,which provides valuable insight into the understanding of the atmospheric circulation in Northeast Asia during the Early Cretaceous.

月球资源的探测与利用已成为未来月球探测任务的主要目标.月球矿物的分类采集与处理是月球资源原位探测与利用的基础前提.本文提出了一种基于干式磁选法的月壤磁性矿物原位分选富集方案,通过改变不同磁性特征月壤颗粒的运动轨迹实现磁性矿物从月壤中分离.我们对该干式磁选装置进行了详细建模,对磁性参数的三维分布特征进行了有限元计算和分析.基于嫦娥五号样品的表征与分析结果,进一步开展月壤颗粒形貌和物理特征的建模与仿真模拟.最后,对月壤颗粒多物理场作用下的运动过程进行了离散元仿真分析,研究了关键参数对月壤中钛铁矿富集性能的影响.结果表明,在特定的磁场强度和滚筒转速下,可有效实现月壤中钛铁矿的分选富集.此外,还研究了月球弱重力和月壤颗粒带电特性对富集过程的影响,结果表明弱重力作用和带电特性均能有效促进钛铁矿的富集过程.本研究验证了干式磁选法用于月壤钛铁矿富集的可行性,为月球矿物资源的开采、处理和利用等科学任务的实施提供了理论基础.

As an energy and carbon saving process for nitrogen removal from wastewater,the partial nitrification and denitrification process(PN/D)has been extensively ***,achieving stable PNinmunicipalwastewater has always been *** this study,a gel immobiliz.d PN/D nitrogen removal process(gI-PN/D)was established.A 94 days pilot-scale experiment was conducted using real municipal wastewater with an ammonia concentration of 43.5±5.3mg N/L at a temperature range of 11.3–28.7◦*** nitrogen removal performance and associated pathways,shifts in the microbial community as well as sludge yield were *** results were as follows:the effluent TN and COD were 0.6±0.4mg/L and 31.1±3.8 mg/L respectively,and the NAR exceeding 95%.gI-PN/D achieved deep nitrogen removal ofmunicipalwastewater through stable PN without taking any *** primary pathways for nitrogen removal were identified as denitrification,simultaneous nitrification-denitrification,and aerobic ***-throughput sequencing analysis revealed that the immobiliz.d fillers facilitated the autonomous enrichment of functional bacteria in each reactor,effectively promoting the dominance and stability of the microbial *** addition,gI-PN/D had the characteristic of low sludge yield,with an average sludge yield of 0.029 kg SS/kg *** study provides an effective technical for nitrogen removal from municipal wastewater through PN.

The Joint Control of Variable Speed and On-Ramp Metering for Urban Expressway

The traffic performance of urban expressway is subject to non-recurring and recurring events, which may cause heavy congestion and vehicles long queuing on ramps. The low performance may bring more traffic delay to the whole network of urban road. This paper presents a new method, the joint control of variable speed control and on-ramp metering, which attempts to improve the level of traffic operations on urban expressway. By analyz.ng traffic flow on urban expressway, an optimum control strategy of variable speed and on-ramp metering is established in the paper.

CdSe Quantum Dot-Sensitiz.d Au/TiO2 Hybrid Mesoporous Films and Their Enhanced Photoelectrochemical Performance

Novel CdSe quantum dot （QD）-sensitiz.d Au/TiO2 hybrid mesoporous films have been designed, fabricated, and evaluated for photoelectrochemical （PEC） applications. The Au/TiO2 hybrid structures were made by assembly of Au and TiO2 nanoparticles （NPs）. A chemical bath deposition method was applied to deposit CdSe QDs on TiO2 NP films with and without Au NPs embedded. We observed significant enhancements in photocurrent for the film with Au NPs, in the entire spectral region we studied （350-600 nm）. Incident-photon-to-current efficiency （IPCE） data revealed an average enhancement of 50%, and the enhancement was more significant at short wavelength. This substantially improved PEC performance is tentatively attributed to the increased light absorption of CdSe QDs due to light scattering by Au NPs. Interestingly, without QD sensitiz.tion, the Au NPs quenched the photocurrent of TiO2 films, due to the dominance of electron trapping over light scattering by Au NPs. The results suggest that metal NPs are potentially useful for improving the photoresponse in PEC cells and possibly in other devices such as solar cells based on QD-sensitiz.d metal oxide nanostructured films. This work demonstrates that metal NPs can serve as light scattering centers, besides functioning as photo-sensitiz.rs and electron traps. The function of metal NPs in a particular nanocomposite film is strongly dependent on their structure and morphology.
