Understanding the heterogeneous role of individuals in large-scale information spreading is essential to manage online behavior as well as its potential offline consequences. To this end, most existing studies from diverse research domains focus on the disproportionate role played by highly connected ‘hub’ ***, we demonstrate here that information superspreaders in online social media are best understood and predicted by simultaneously considering two individual-level behavioral traits: influence and susceptibility. Specifically, we derive a nonlinear network-based algorithm to quantify individuals' influence and susceptibility from multiple spreading event data. By applying the algorithm to large-scale data from Twitter and Weibo, we demonstrate that individuals' estimated influence and susceptibility scores enable predictions of future superspreaders above and beyond network centrality, and reveal new insights into the network positions of the superspreaders.

Long-term changes in soil pH, the current status of soil acidification, and the response of bulk soil and soil water pH to experimental nitrogen addition under three subtropical forests were investigated in Dinghushan Biosphere Reserve of subtropical China. The results showed that the mineral soil pH at 0-20 cm depth declined significantly from 4.60-4.75 in 1980s to 3.84-4.02 in 2005. Nitrogen addition resulted in the decrease of pH in both bulk soil and soil water collected at 20-cm depth. The rapid decline of soil pH was attributed to long-term high atmospheric acid deposition (nitrogen and sulphur) therein. The forest at earlier succession stage with originally higher soil pH appeared to be more vulnerable to acid deposition than that at later succession stage with originally low soil pH.

Bromate(BrO_3) is a disinfection by-product in drinking water, and its removal is very difficult especially at low levels.60 Co gamma rays were used to remove BrO_3in aqueous solution in this study. The effects of absorbed doses, BrO_3initial concentration, gas saturation, p H value and coexisting anions(Cl, NO 3, SO2 4and HCO 3=CO_3^(2 -))on BrO_3reduction were evaluated. After 4.0-k Gy irradiation of air-equilibrated solution of 30.7 lg/L BrO_3, the residual BrO_3was 8.3 lg/L, which is below the maximum contaminant level of drinking water. The BrO_3reduction rate increased with the dose, in the order of N2[ air [ O_2[ N_2O atmosphere under similar conditions. The results also show that high p H favored the BrO_3removal. According to the experimental results, it can be concluded that the efficiency of decomposing BrO_3by reactive species followed the order of e aq[ H [ HO_2 [ O_2. Coexisting Cl, HCO 3=CO_3^(2 -)and SO2 4ions have little effect on BrO_3removal, whereas NO_3can inhibit its removal as a result of competition with BrO_3for e aq.

Studies have shown that repetitive transcra nial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)can enhance synaptic plasticity and improve neurological *** r,the mechanism through which rTMS can improve moderate traumatic brain injury remains poorly *** this study,we established rat models of moderate traumatic brain injury using Feeney's weight-dropping method and treated them using *** help determine the mechanism of action,we measured levels of seve ral impo rtant brain activity-related proteins and their *** the injured side of the brain,we found that rTMS increased the protein levels and mRNA expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor,tropomyosin receptor kinase B,N-methyl-D-aspartic acid receptor 1,and phosphorylated cAMP response element binding protein,which are closely associated with the occurrence of long-term *** also partially reve rsed the loss of synaptophysin after injury and promoted the remodeling of synaptic *** findings suggest that upregulation of synaptic plasticity-related protein expression is the mechanism through which rTMS promotes neurological function recovery after moderate traumatic brain injury.

After the significant discovery of the hole-doped nickelate compound Nd0.8Sr0.2NiO2, analyses of the electronic structure, orbital components, Fermi surfaces and band topology could be helpful to understand the mechanism of its superconductivity. Based on first-principle calculations, we find that Ni3dx2-y2states contribute the largest Fermi surface. The Ln5d3z.-r2states form an electron pocket at, while 5 dxy states form a relatively bigger electron pocket at A. These Fermi surfaces and symmetry characteristics can be reproduced by our two-band model, which consists of two elementary band representations: B1g@1a⊕A1g@1b. We find that there is a band inversion near A, giving rise to a pair of Dirac points along M-A below the Fermi level upon including spin-orbit coupling. Furthermore,we perform density functional theory based Gutz.iller（DFT+Gutz.iller） calculations to treat the strong correlation effect of Ni 3 d orbitals. In particular, the bandwidth of 3dx2-y2has been renormaliz.d *** the renormaliz.tion of the correlated bands, the Ni 3 dxy states and the Dirac points become very close to the Fermi level. Thus, a hole pocket at A could be introduced by hole doping, which may be related to the observed sign change of the Hall coefficient. By introducing an additional Ni3dxyorbital, the hole-pocket band and the band inversion can be captured in our modified model. Besides, the nontrivial band topology in the ferromagnetic two-layer compound La3Ni2O6is discussed and the band inversion is associated with Ni3dx2-y2and La5dxyorbitals.
