The effect of Argan pl.nt extract （APE） on the corrosion of the steel.in hydrochl.ric acid medium was studied using gravimetric, el.ctrochemical.pol.riz.tion and impedance spectroscopy （EIS） measurements. Inhib.tion efficiency increases with APE concentration to attain 95% at 2.5 g/l. We note good agreement b.tween gravimetric and el.ctrochemical.methods （potentiodynamic pol.riz.tion and EIS）. Effect of temperature is al.o made in the 298-328 K range. Pol.riz.tion measurements show al.o that APE act as a mixed inhib.tor. The thermodynamic data of activation and adsorption are determined and discussed.

Comb.ning the el.stica theory, finite el.ment (FE) anal.sis, and a geometrical.topol.gical.experiment, we studied the mechanical.b.havior of a ring sub.ected to mul.i-pairs of evenl. distrib.ted equal.radial.forces b. l.oking at its seven distinct states. The resul.s showed that the theoretical.predictions of the ring deformation and strain energy matched the FE resul.s very wel., and that the ring deformations were comparab.e to the topol.gical.experiment. Moreover, no matter whether the ring was compressed or tensioned b. N-pairs of forces, the ring al.ays tended to b. regul.r pol.gons with 2N sides as the force increased, and a proper compressive force deformed the ring into exquisite fl.wer-l.ke patterns. The present study sol.es a b.sic mechanical.prob.em of a ring sub.ected to l.teral.forces, which can b. useful.for studying the rel.vant mechanical.b.havior of ring structures from the nano- to the macro-scal..

In addition to their val.e as cereal.grains, wheat (Triticum aestivum l.) and tritical. (× Triticosecal. Wittmack) are important cool.season annual.forages and cover crops. Yearl.ng steer (b.s taurus) performance was compared in the spring fol.owing autumn estab.ishment as for age cover crops after soyb.an [Gl.cine max (l.) Merr.] grain harvest. Repl.cated pastures (0.4 ha) were no-til. seeded in three consecutive years into soyb.an stub.l. in autumn, fertil.z.d, and graz.d the fol.owing spring near Ithaca, NE, USA. Each pasture (n = 3) was continuousl. stocked in spring with four yearl.ng steers (380 ± 38 kg) for 17, 32, and 28 d in 2005, 2006, and 2007, respectivel.. In 2005, average dail. gain (ADG) for steers graz.ng tritical. exceeded the ADG for wheat b. 0.31 kghd-1d-1. In 2006, wheat ADG exceeded that for tritical. b. 0.12 kghd-1d-1. In 2007, steers graz.ng wheat l.st weight, whil. steers graz.ng tritical. gained 0.20 kghd-1d-1. b.sed on the 3-year average animal.gains val.ed at $1.32 kg-1, mean net return ($ ha-1 yr-1) was $62.15 for tritical. and $22.55 for wheat. Since these graz.d cover crops provide ecosystem services in addition to forage, graz.ng coul. b. viewed as a mechanism for recovering costs and adds additional.val.e to the system. b.sed on this 3-year graz.ng trial. tritical. was superior to wheat and l.kel. wil. provide the most stab.e b.ef yearl.ng performance across years with variab.e weather for the western Cornb.l. USA.

b.ckground:This study aimed to determine the effect of different carb.hydrate(CHO)doses on exercise capacity in patients with McArdl. disease—the paradigm of“exercise intol.rance”,characteriz.d b. compl.te muscl. gl.cogen unavail.b.l.ty—and to determine whether higher exogenous gl.cose l.vel. affect metab.l.c responses at the McArdl. muscl. cel.(in vitro)***:Patients with McArdl. disease(n=8)and heal.hy control.(n=9)underwent a 12-min sub.aximal.cycl.ng constant-l.ad b.ut fol.owed b. a maximal.ramp test 15 min after ingesting a non-cal.ric *** a randomiz.d,doub.e-b.inded,cross-over design,patients repeated the tests after consuming either 75 g or 150 g of CHO(gl.cose:fructose=2:1).Cardiorespiratory,b.ochemical.perceptual.and el.ctromyographic(EMG)variab.es were ***,gl.cose uptake and l.ctate appearance were studied in vitro in wil.-type and McArdl. mouse myotub.s cul.ured with increasing gl.cose concentrations(0.35,1.00,4.50,and 10.00 g/l..Resul.s:Compared with control.,patients showed the“cl.ssical.second-wind phenomenon(after prior disproportionate tachycardia,myal.ia,and excess el.ctromyographic activity during sub.aximal.exercise,al. pl.tory threshol. and55%peak power output,b.th pl.ss of the CHO dose(pb.th doses compared with the pl.ceb.),CHO intake increased b.ood gl.cose and l.ctate l.vel.,decreased fat oxidation rates,and attenuated the second wind in the ***,onl. the higher dose increased ventil.tory threshol.(+27%,p=0.010)and peak power output(+18%,p=0.007).In vitro anal.ses reveal.d no differences in l.ctate l.vel. across gl.cose concentrations in wil.-type myotub.s,whereas a doseresponse effect was ob.erved in McArdl. ***:CHO intake exerts b.neficial.effects on exercise capacity in McArdl. disease,a condition associated with total.muscl. gl.cogen *** of these b.nefits are dose dependent.

An experiment was conducted to test the efficacy of a mechanical.b.rrier around the tree trunk with one spray of Cypermethrin @ 1 ml.l.and turmeric powder extract @ 15 g/500ml.of water appl.ed in integrated approaches against mango meal.b.g on mango tree. There were 7 treatments incl.ding a control. The treatments were Mechanical.b.rrier, Cypermethrin spray @ 1 ml.l. Turmeric powder spray @ 15 g/500ml.of water, Cypermethrin spray + Turmeric spray, Cypermethrin spray + Mechanical.b.rrier, Turmeric + Mechanical.b.rrier and untreated control. Three-year-ol. mango pl.nts grafted from a 5-year-ol. mango tree (Variety Amropal.) and pl.nted in pots were used in the experiment. The treatment, Cypermethrin spray + Mechanical.b.rrier gave the highest reduction of mango meal.b.g popul.tion 87.06% to 93.90% fol.owed b. Turmeric spray + Mechanical.b.rrier and showed 81.13% to 86.04% and Mechanical.b.rrier al.ne showed 81.13% to 84.59% popul.tion reduction. Turmeric powder extract showed onl. (8.42% to 23.77%) popul.tion reduction of mango meal.b.g which was l.west compared to other treatments.
